Rogue One There are no small roles...The Background Characters of R1

I thought we could create one thread to talk about the un-named, probably background characters and design in Rogue One.

 

The fuzzy one is so cute! I'd like to have this guy here at home.

He looks like he's got a flamethrower on his back, that's one bad ass Japanese Spitz.

 

I wonder what the squad of old grey Calamaris are doing?
Just hangin' with Mon and Bail in the war room? Or do we get a few cruisers in a fight?

 

I'm going to guess that they're elder Mon Calimari Rebels that are killed during a space battle over Scarif.

 

There are no small roles, only Ewoks, Jawas and Ugnaughts.

 

The really grey ones in the background look sick, like they need the water changed in their fishbowl sick.

 

The Empire poisoning the waters of Mon Cal?
Pilgrims to the Jeddah looking for healing?

 

Maybe the fuzzy one is a Snoth (snow sloth). If it were from Hoth, it would be a Hoth Snoth. It might be wearing a flamethower, but it could be a jetpack, since Snoths move too slow otherwise.
I think it would be great if the fuzzy one is played by Gwendoline.

 

I'd guess that they're simply elders.

 

I'd love to hear reasons as to why people join the Alliance. Poisoned water on Dac would be an amazing bit of exposition

 

Am I the only one who thinks this guy looks like a mandalorian neo crusader?

Edrio Two Tubes is a mercenary pilot who flies alongside his eggmate, Benthic. The two share the nickname derived from the breathing apparatus that allows their Tognath physiology to process oxygen atmospheres. Edrio’s home world Yar Togna was conquered and occupied by the Empire, forcing him to flee as a refugee. Desiring to strike back at the Empire, Edrio and Benthic have allied with Saw Gerrera.

The aliens are rather more earthy colours than in TFA.

 

Looks like Plo Koon and Vader had a baby?

 

I think he looks more like yellow relative of a Guavian Enforcer from TFA.

 

Hmmm, I guess that's what happens if Bane from "The Dark Knight Rises" had a son with Plo Koon... That's one tough-looking character though, I must say!

Haha! Yes, exactly. Much better design than Plo Koon, though, IMO. Must have gotten more of his other father's genes.
