JCC Things We Used To Do and Miss Doing Now

Playing videogames. Don't really have time / attention span for long story based games any more, and get bored by casual games. I like the IDEA of playing games, and will spend ages getting old classics up and running on my old PCs, but never actually play them once sorted.

Used to play Mario Kart socially with the kids, and occasionally with friends overseas, but the Wii doesn't read half the disks any more. Considering getting a Nintendo Switch in a few months, so maybe stuff like that, and stuff I've wanted to try - Splatoon, Lego Dimensions (if ported) etc might draw me back.

 

Playing drums, having hair on my head and staying up late.

 

Watching the news with no bad news.

 

Watching Hulu

 

I have not played pool in years. I was quite good at it.

 

Theater. I grew up in theater (mostly based around dance, but musicals too), I did technical and performing, and I miss it all. Everytime I go to the theater there's a part of me that's a little bit sad.

With my job, I can't really do community theater because I work such weird schedules. Not to mention now that I've moved to NYC even the community theater is professional.

 

I also used to be able to eat an entire bucket of ice cream without a worry. Now I risk obesity, diabetes, a stroke and possibly cancer.

 

Ooh, good one! Yeah, I used to go to a church that put on a Passion Play every Easter. I've played Lazarus, Caiaphus, Judas, and a Roman soldier. Good times...

 

Spending a summer riding my bike everyday to the park to play cricket or football.

Dreading that last week of summer holiday, because school is about to start again.

 

easily would be playing sports aussie rules football/soccer/cricket great times and memories but i have a crook back so those days are over at the grand old age of 27

due to work & bad physical condition, I miss getting out into the woods.
used to take my son hunting & my daughter fishing several times a year.
now he's off to college and she is too busy with music/band/teenager stuff for me.

 

Cross country skiing. Conditions were perfect today. But I don't have skis anymore.

Gaming
Staying up late
Movie marathons
Sleeping in

 

Driving down the road and not getting slush, salt, and sand all over my car.

 

You know, at our age it's really not very sexy and more a sign of incontinence. And now we have to buy a new mattress.

 

I miss being able to function on 3 hours sleep, eat a whole pizza, have a 2 ltr. of Mtn. Dew ... and still only tip the scales at 175.

 

Obstacle racing. It's been 3 years. Picking up heavy things is more satisfying, though.
