I thought it would be nice to have a place to send notes of good cheer to those who might be sick, in need a prayer or thoughts, a cyber-hug, or whatever.

    So, I'll start :)

Please remember my mother, Grace Wilson. Mom is very, very ill. She was diagnosed with cancer on Friday, and with all the other health problems she has, the family has opt not continue treatment. This is still a hard decision to carry out, even though Mom told us after daddy died that she wanted no 'help' to stay alive. They give 3-6 months.

    Thanks,

    Cathy

Cathy, my prayers are with you and your family. It is tough to do what you are doing, we did it w/ my grandmother. Just take every moment you can and be with her, spoil her and take care of yourself.

That's my big ole' hug for you!

For those of us that have family or friends who have had to go through the cancer treatments, we understand your decision. Treatments often seem worse than the illness.

    All my thoughts and prayers,
    Hollie

For our dear friend Cathy and all her family ....

    Amazing Grace (Traditional)
    as performed by Judy Collins
    (1970, "Whales and Nightingales")
(2001 CD, "Very Best of Judy Collins")

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now can see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
    And grace my Fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
    I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

And when we've been there ten thousand years,
    Bright shining as the sun,
We'll have no less days to sing God's praise
    Than when we first begun.

Mom went peacefully at 6:15am, 8/7/04. When they 'set' her features, the funeral director told us, "It's very seldom that I've seen a natural smile on a person's face." Momma must have seen something so beautiful, so peaceful, that it caused her to be joyous beyond our comprehension.

I couldn't sleep and decided to get online. I'm typing through tears of so many emotions. Words can't express how much it has meant to me & my family for the calls, emails and posts we've received.

Skye, my niece, and I will read poems that we wrote. My poem (below) is the one I wrote and read at Daddy's funeral.

    "Do Not Cry For Me"

When you are blue, do not cry for me
I am the point of in-betweens.
I am the first light of your morning sun,
the last twinkling of the moon above.

When you are blue, do not cry
    without my arms surrounding you,
for I am the never-ending love.

I am the universe, the God - the true and only one.

In Memory of Grace V Wilson, mother (1/12/27-8/7/04)
In Memory of Allen S Wilson, father (5/19/20-12/13/96)

Memorial Service is at 1pm EST, Vance Memorial Chapel, 280 Bypass, Phenix City, AL.

I just found out this morning that my Dad's "tumor" is really fully blown colon cancer. He has an appt w/ the cancer doctor on the 19th of Aug. We wont know anything more until then. He is in for some Chemo or Radiation. Then possibly surgery.

Please pray for my dad. (and for me and my 2 sisters and my mom). Mom is taking it hard.

Cathy, your poem is beautiful. We all are thinking about you and yours. I'm glad your mom passed on with a smile on her face. That tells me she has gone on to a wonderful and happy place.

Jilly, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad's cancer. I hope the doctors can work with him to find a way for him to beat it. I know it can be done. My sister has been in remission for years now. I hope that will happen for him.

Both of you mean alot to me. Your in my prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with your Dad, you, and the rest of family. We will think positive thoughts that the tumor can be removed and he will be okay.

Send him my best and if you need 'anything' plesae call me. Maybe I can go and read to him, cook, clean, whatever - you call me!

    Love,

    Cathy & Haywood

I know a lady that has survived cancer, died ( they brought her back), and is very ill and skinny. She is a good friend of my parents and now she is in the hospital with pnemonia. She almost died the other day but the hospital workers saved her.

If you guys could keep her in your prayers I would be grateful.

    Thanks

Unfortunately, we have another need for prayer.

Brad Carne's mom is in the hospital. We don't know what is wrong yet - just that she is in ICU at St. Francis.

I'm thinking about you and your mom, Brad! May the Lord in His wisdom be with you in this time of need.

Brad's mom is home from the hospital and gaining her strength back. I'm going to be going to see her next.

Brad thanks everyone for their prayers, emails, cards & phone calls. It really meant a lot to him and his family. He just doesn't get online much these days.

Dad is just fine. He recovered well from his surgery and had been able to resume his full calander of activities.

He did struggle to gain weight like the doctor wanted after the chemo and surgery but he is back up to a spanky 190 and looks great.
