I hope it sounded good. Alicks has told me that they have edited two promos, which are running right now. Once they send me the MP3s, I'll post them on the Media page of the LR site. I'm hoping that's soon.

I heard that as well. I like the changes they made from the original script. It sounds pretty good.

FYI I dropped another 100 handouts at Heroes this afternoon. They were all out of the 50 we left last week.

I have another addition to our sponsor list. DK Publishing will be sending some Star Wars books for us to give away as prizes. If you are unfamiliar with DK, they publish the Star Wars Visual Guides, and other titles.

A couple things arising from yesterday's meeting.

    Costume Contest Change
This year we have decided to divide the costume contest in two: professional and amateur. Members of the Rebel Legion or the 501st will enter the professional contest, while everyone else can enter the amateur one. The amateur contest will have 4 winners (one per age group), while the professional one has only one winner. We were thinking that the amateur contest would be judged by a panel of 3 judges, and the professional contest will be judged by the audience. And as we had discussed previously, winners from previous years are ineligible from winning with the same costume this year.

    Itinerary

    9:00
    Draw Ballot opens.
    Colouring Contest opens.
    Wookiee Sniper Shoot opens.
    Thermal Detonator Toss opens.

    11:00
Winners announced for Wookiee Sniper Shoot (4) and Thermal Detonator Toss (4). Prizes given out.
Lunch break for the morning volunteers.
Jedi/Padawan race takes place with replacement volunteers.

    11:30
Winners (2) announced for Jedi/Padawan race. Prizes given out.
    Stormtrooper March takes place.
    Tug of War takes place.

    12:30
    Cake is served.
Winning teams announced for Stormtrooper March and Tug of War. Prizes given out.
Amateur Costume Contest takes place (4 age groups). One winner selected from each age group, and prizes given out.
Professional Costume Contest takes place. Winner chosen by applause. Prize awarded??
Colouring Contest winners selected. Prizes given out.
    Ballot drawn and prize awarded.

    1:45
    Sword/aikido demonstration by Derek Bindner.

    2:00
    Lightsaber Tournament takes place.
Winners selected (4), and prizes given out.

I will be putting this information on the LR website shortly.

the jedi/padawan race is going to be a mass race. We will need a lot more tie bands for it. Can you make more?

I would like to put some posters at UWO before classes end on April 8. The process is that you take your posters to Imprint Studio, who approves them and stamps them with a date. They give you a map of the campus listing the boards (approximately 35 to 40). Posters are removed after two weeks. The cost is $25 + tax.

I suggest we do this as a group, in costume, during the last week of March.

Maybe we can do something similar at Fanshawe. I don't have any experience with that campus however, so if someone else would like to make some investigating phone calls or emails, that would help.

What do you guys think about the idea of having loot bags available? These can be pre-stuffed with flyers, business cards, coupons, and what-not from our sponsors. We can also add something like a handout about our group, perhaps a copy of the day's itinerary, and perhaps even something inexpensive like a door hanger or bookmark or some token "gift." Bulk plastic bags are pretty cheap at That Party Place.

I tried Fanshawe. It has to be school related or by a student. So we're out of luck there.

I like the bag idea. Everyone can have one by signing the guest book. More book marks is not hard to do. A flyer telling about our group, when & where. Also a list of sponsors, up coming events sounds great.

I dropped off a flyer and sponsorship request to Home Depot, B.A.Comics & McCullock's today.

That's great. Hopefully we'll get some more prizes.

For the loot bags, I can pick up the plastic bags. I have in mind plain white ones. These aren't as large as grocery bags. We'll have to determine how many we want to make up - 100, 200, 300.

I received the prize donation from DK Books today. It includes three hard cover books:

The Ultimate Visual Guide to Star Wars
Star Wars Complete Cross-Sections: The Spacecraft and Vehicles of the Entire Star Wars Saga
Star Wars Blueprints: The Ultimate Collection
    (Retail value: $95.98)

I also received this email from my contact at DK Books:
"a couple of the titles I wanted to send are being reprinted, so some excellent SW substitute titles are coming instead."

So it looks like a few more books are on their way. I will let you know when those arrive.

I was thinking around noon. We could meet at Alumni Hall again, then go to Imprint in the Community Centre to have the posters approved. It may take a couple hours. I'll plan to keep the day open.

Sounds good. We should co-ordinate whether we're going to show up in costume or plan to change somewhere on campus.
