    Did we get an official release date or target date for the 3rd EGTC? Or is this just still in the formative stages? I ask because I actually had to pull out my copy of the 2nd EGTC and I was shocked to see how old it was. :p

    Last time I checked, it was supposed to be this summer... but I could see them postponing it so they can include some Episode VII characters and do any necessary retcon work.

    I'm shocked at how old the last Essential Chronology is .... what has happened since then? Dawn of the Jedi, Lost Tribe of the Sith, Clone Wars Cartoon, Plagueis, Fate of the Jedi, etc...

    The second half of the New Jedi Order series (TRAITOR wasn't even released yet when it came out, was Star By Star??)...

    Episode III wasn't out yet either, or even any of the OLD Clone Wars EU...

    No, it came out in 2002.


    EDIT: I don't know about the Chronology, but the last guide to Characters came out in 2002.

    Before the second half of the NJO was known, before Episode III was even written.

    Yeah, the 2nd EGTC lacked the end of the NJO, DNT, ROTS, LOTF, Legacy, Knights of the Old Republic (comics), and a host of other very popular series.

    I think Fartuna is referring to the New Essential Chronology, which came out around 2005. So it included ROTS, but only went up to the second book of the Dark Nest Trilogy. But the Essential Guide to the Force and the Atlas both covered a lot of major chronological occurrences, so they were effectively chronologies, if maybe not as in-depth as a dedicated chronology book.

    Yes, sorry, I forgot to mention "New". Yep, that book is now 8 years old! Imagine how much Star Wars material has been released in 8 years ... we now even have a new ERA (Dawn of the Jedi).

    Oh it will come out before 2015, but if they postpone it until mid-late 2014 then they can include information about some of the Episode VII characters, since the script will already be written, filming will be happening or already over, and they'll have the designs for any CGI characters. As well as any necessary retcons.

    Probably a lot of artwork has already been completed since the book is due out sometime this year, but I'd love to see:

    revised Darth Bane entry - depicting the curved lightsaber (described as Hook Handled)
    full entries for major Sith in the Banite line:

    Darth Zannah - with a full picture
    Darth Cognus - with a full picture
    Darth Vectivus - with a full picture
    Darth Tenebrous- with a full picture
    Darth Venamis - with a full picture
    Darth Plagueis - with a full picture (without breathing mask and without nose)

    Smaller entries and images for:
    Darth Gean
    Darth Gravid
    Darth Guile

    Essentially, I would like the Banite line to be expanded upon with better images of the members rather than the obscured, cloaked images we had of some of them before.

    Any one else agree?
