    Thanks, but the idea was that Vitiate was utterly oblivious to the fact it was another who was destined to rule. The whole appeal*, for me, was that he had arrogantly and incorrectly assumed his hazy vision of the Galactic Empire was a revelation of his own destiny.

    * Well, okay, no. The main appeal was that it meant that the Sith Empire was based on the Galactic Empire IU, as well as OOU. :p

    That's good, but not nearly spiteful and petty enough. :p

    Yes! =D==D==D==D=

    It's not like rabid Palpatinist fanboyism would creep into a licensed publication for the first time *cough*Dark Empire Sourcebook*cough*

    TOR and Revan (the novel) have more than enough Vitiatist fanboyism to conpensate.

    Out of the three, Sion is the only one I can imagine smiling (although it would hurt like hell, obviously).

    And pulling his facial muscles would increase it, presumably (I remember him missing part of his mouth anyway).

    What I was saying is that I would never expect someone who's always in pain (such as Sion) to smile.

    Anyway, I want backstories for Sion and Nihilus

    I liked how the Old Republic era (or should I say Sith era?) was so simple that you could learn everything about it just by reading TOTJ.

    I miss when TOTJ was the worst series in the Old Republic era.

    TOTJ: the series that produced both Fall of the Sith Empire and Redemption (and they were by the same author!)

    Background on Sion would be welcome, but Nihilus should remain as vague as possible. He's a cool plot device whose allure is rooted in ambiguity; fleshing him out only makes him less cool... which is all he has. He's not a compelling, multifaceted character and trying to make him one with a lackluster background isn't the right way to go.

    I think Nihilus's lack of backstory gives an "incomplete story" feeling.

    Understandable, but rampant inclusionism is a weakness of the EU. The more we learn about enigmatic characters (Revan, Thrawn, even Vader), the fans express dissatisfaction and the results are mixed. Nihilus has little to offer beyond mystery; robbing him of that does no one any favors.

    "Palpatinist fanboyism" is redundant when we already have a term for it: "truth."
