    wow, he was just waiting to come with that, wasn't he....

    Well, he did get the ruling.

    We will see if it fails again....

    I wonder - will any of you try that draft?

    Will any former or current Starfighter drafters try their hand at the Bounty Hunter draft?

    I will not. Good luck to those who do.

    I think the Starfighter draft is a proven commodity, and will be up soon enough, espeically if interest is not there for the Bounty Hunter draft, and if there are not judges there. Unless EKW wants to use his socks to pad the board....

    I am out for the day, so I guess we still wait for QGJ2 to post new numbers so we can finish this off, huh?

    See you tomorrowm and hopefully, we can put this baby to bed.

    Let's get it on!

    Shut up SecondBest!

    The Patriots may be able to shut down the Panther running game though. If that happens then the Patriots pass defense can take control of the game.

    I told you to shut up because I thought you might alert Wiggins to the fact. Now I see that he is already aware of the situation.

    Sorry. :(

    I will not be participating in the Bounty Hunter draft. It won't work. Not enough bounty hunters and how the hell would you judge it anyway.

    Wiggins has asked to judge the next Jedi Draft. I of course gave a resounding 'NO!'

    I'm also talking to Katya-Jade about this whole scenario. So we'll see what happens.

    With two weeks for Bellichik and Crennel to game plan I think there is a strong possibility that the Pats stop the run.

    Maybe if you give him a gm slot he will not start up the bounty hunter draft. I doubt Katya_Jade will change the previous ruling or is she/he a new moderator?

    How does Wiggin's get any with this ****?!

    I've made my case in the SWC Communications thread. If anybody else wants to add their comments, please head over to the thread and voice your opinions.

    You don't have to tell me Fox is no slouch. He may be the best coach in the league. How the Panthers won 7 games last year I'll never know. Rodney Peete was their QB. Rodney freakin Peete. And Lamar Smith was their running back. 7 wins was amazing for that team.

    I just spoke with Katya, and she's going to give him a day or two to see if it will work. When it fails, the Starfighter draft will be back up. She did mention that she might let all three work at the same time, but she's going to try to aviod that situation as much as possible.

    She'll be good to work with.

    Why are we giving the BH Draft a chance to begin with? Is this how we award cheating and lieing within the Drafts? ?[face_plain] ?[face_plain]

    Myself, and many others, devote a lot of time to the Starfighter Drafts, and I'm not going to sit by and let Wiggins get away with this nonsense.

    Maybe just maybe Wiggins will be gracious enough to close down his thread if he doesn't get anyone to participate.

    I know it is asking a lot but sometimes people can shock you.

    Uhhh....

    Wow.

    That is all I have too say. Simply unreal matchups. It doesn't get much better than that.

    Sorry, I was working pretty much all day. Couldn't get away from the lab...

    There is something that I wish to point out.

    This is regarding Nomi and Vergere.

    Horax has repeatedly stated in the draft and in a pm to me that a jedi needs to be judged

    "based on their whole career".

    Thus we need to take all parts of a jedi career in setting a jedi's "power level".

    Now take 2 facts, which can be found in the official encylopdias and comics etc....

    1) For about the first half of Nomi Sunrider's jedi career she did not use a lightsaber. . She wanted nothing to do with lightsabers. This part off her jedi career needs to be taken into account as well. Consequently (sp) her overall "power level" needs to be reflect Horax's decree and the facts of her career. In this case, taken down a notch.

    2) Ditto to Vergere. She used a lightsaber ( very nicely) in the PT. She was STILL a jedi in the OT, but didn't touch the thing. Ditto (to my knowledge, correct me if I am wrong) with her not using a saber in the NJO. Thus, to be in line with Horax's decree and the facts about her career, her "power level" needs to be taken down a notch.

    I have to go. I'll send my numbers now. Hopefully I 'll get the same luck this time...

    Well, it's kinda hard to base a Jedi off their whole career. Take Yoda for example: Do we judge him on the limping old Yoda we saw on Dagobah? Do we judge Obi-Wan on the years he spent hiding in the dunes of Tatooine? Do we judge Mace on the time he spent waxing his head? Do we judge Tyvokka on the time he spent getting rid of fleas? No! In the competitions, Jedi are represented in their primses. Atleast, that's the way I've been told. When do even know the whole career of most of the Jedi on the boards.

    Secondly, QGJ2, you are way off on your facts about Nomi and Vergere. Nomi was never afraid of lightsabers. She was opposed to them because she hated violence, since it reminded her of her husband's death. Later, under the training of Master Thon, she overcame that and went on to become one of the greatest Jedi of the entire era.

    Now, about Vergere. It would be kind of hard for her to practice her lightsaber training while she was being held prisoner by the Yuuzhan Vong for Fifty or so years. The fact that after all that time, within a species cut off from the Force, she was still powerful in the Force, speaks of her skills and abilities.

    Anyways, best of luck to you next round. I'm looking forward to the conclusion :)

    1) Well, Horax said the whole career needs to be taken into account. I took that to mean all parts of a career added together. But I'll just have to leave that to the judging (??)

    2) Yeah, in retrospect I shouldn't have said afraid. That was kind of a half-arsed way of putting it. I was wrong in saying that.Period. But I still maintain my original point. If you take a whole career into account and for part of a career you don't use a lightsaber, then naturally your "overall level" is going to go down. But that is simply a call for Horax to make. But I do think it is valid and worth looking into.

    3) About Vergere:
    Does that really matter? She still didn't use a lightsaber. I'm not faulting her for it, just stating under the reasons above ^^^ I think the judging of Vergere should be reflected in that. But if Horax deems it not to be so, then I'm cool with it. But I have to be agressive don't I? [face_devil]

    [face_smile]

    4) Yep, this probably the best matchup in the history of the draft's thus far (in my opinion). Best of luck to you, and whatever the outcome it's been fun!

    :)

    What sucks is that I pretty much have to work all day tomorrow so I won't be able to watch it unfold or argue or anything. Bummer...

    Well, since I'm in the mood now. I guess I'll leave with this.

    1)My top 3 would easily wipe the floor with his.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Easily my fanny. This would be a bloodbath. Now I'll admit that QGJ (Points to user name) is better than Piell. But really the difference is miniscule. Flip the script with Luke and Anakin. Luke is better, but the difference is miniscule. As far as Koon and Unduli, I don't know where you get off saying that Plo is better, like it is obvious. Really, as far as proven and shown abilities go, Koon has done nothing to approach her skill in "The approaching Storm". Koon has done some great things himself and probably has more of a rep (like on the OS and such) but really I can't say either are better than the other. For one thing, the factor that breaks his back might simply be the fact that Koon is SO slow (like es said, a strong hack and slash type) and Unduli is SO fast. Plus I simply think she is more athletic. So they are equal at best. Really, each of these fighters is SO close to the other, you just simply cant say easily for anything. No way....

    2) Then looking at the bottom three, DW may have experience, but Nomi is the better combatant.
    ==========
    Maybe. Again, miniscule.

    3) We know Hoth has power, but we don't know much about his saber skills, since he was killed at the Battle of Ruusian (I think), which makes him a wild card like Vergere.
    ==============
    No, not true at all.I'm not mad or anything, though :)
    For one thing, The battle of Russian was one of EIGHT battles that he fought in that was documented with the Sith. In the comics we see, literally see him kill Sith. In all of the fights, he is on the front lines. He survived 7 legendary battles. He's killed Sith, period. We can see it, and it is imp[lied by the facts of the case. I also might add that dying at the Battle of Russian means nothing. Zero. Thousands of jedi and sith went into that battle. Now how many cam out? one. Bane. That is it. The sith released a "thought bomb", whihc killed everyone on the battlefield, themselves included. No shame in that. There is literally not a jedi on this board who could have survived that. Not Yoda, Mace, Vader etc... Bane surivived basically by picking his tail up and running away from the fight.

    4) Voolvif is a Jedi Master who survived the battle of Geonosis, and is very skilled with a lightsaber, so he would easily take down the inferior Jedi Knight, Hett.
    =================
    Again with the easily. No way easiliy anything. For one thing, Hett also survived Geonosis (even though you don't see him). Another thing is that you are simply underestimating Hett's skill with a lightsaber. For one thing , he uses 2 sabers SKILLFULLY (unlike Anakin in e2 vs dooku, he got dispatched in 8 strokes. 8. That is sad). Hett has also fought bladed oppornents. Monn has not. He beat Aurra Sing twice as a PADAWAN. Aurra Sing has taken out numerous "jedi masters who were skilled with a bladed", including 2 at one time! To be honest, I think Hett would win this fight, based oin the Aurra Sing factor...he beat sing as a padawan...sing has killed many jedi masters...could monn kill sing? But again, the difference is miniscule.

    5)And about Leadership, when you look at the structure of my team, they all fit in well with each other, especially the top 3. Qui-Gon's ways are unorthodox, but as seen on Naboo, he gets the job done, as he would here.
    ==================
    That last part is purely speculative. Different format, different things, differene everything. Koon and Jinn go great together. Period. But I'm honestly not so sure about Anakin. Yeah, 9 year old Anakin got along with Jinn just fine. But you know what? 9 year old Anakin is NOTHING like 18 year old Anakin. If you remember right, Anakin initially admired Obi as well (your a jedi right?). And we all know how that turned up. Could Jinn handle brash 18 year old Anakin? Speculative....

    6) Add to that the power of Nomi's Battle Meditation, which can not only make my team fight stro

    Hey Horax, I noticed something.

    In the Luminara/Nomi match the first time around you voted for Luminara but the 2nd time you voted for Nomi.

    I thought you voted against me in the teams because of the continuity of voting dor them before.

    Therefore, using this same logic you should have voted Luminara over Nomi, right?

    This standard must be held constant. I should still win 5 to 2.

    I most likely won't see this tomorrow when you are on, but please keep it constant. That is all I ask. For the last battle and this next battle.

    thanks

    Look, about the continuity of voting: A judge can change their mind at any time, there's nothing stopping them from that. I've done it before, and I can bet it'll happen in the future. And you're kind of confusing me QGJ2. In one post you state that judges can change their mind, but in the very next post you ask for things to remain constant...

    But that's beside the point. In response to your earlier post, I'm going to respond by number, instead of copying and pasting all of it over and over:

    1. Yes, Luke is better than Anakin and Qui-Gon is better than Piell. When it comes to Plo/Luminara, both being powerful Jedi Masters, you have to look at experience. Plo has been around a lot longer than Luminara, and fought in more battles too, I believe. While Luminara is very agile, Plo's Kel Dor background is said to highten his Force Powers even further than normal. Plo has power, while Luminara has speed. As we've seen with Vader, you don't always need speed to win a saber contest. To say Luminara would win because of her agility and speed is, as you keep saying, spectulative.

    The thing that gives my Top 3 the biggest edge is the fact that Anakin/Qui-Gon/Plo all have experience with each other, in one way or another. It's been seen that Anakin is capable of following orders from those he respects, i.e. Palpatine. Anakin held a lot of respect for Qui-Gon, and it's very likely that he would follow orders from him in battle. Qui-Gon and Plo have a lot of experience fighting alongside one another, and developed a deep friendship over the years. On your side, Luke wasn't even alive when Luminara and Piell were around, let alone the rest of your team. And, if I can recall, I've never seen Luminara and Piell joining forces together (Again, I could be wrong).

    2. Miniscule? Hardly. You praise Hoth for battling in the Sith War, but for Nomi, it's not good enough? Dark Woman did have some combat experience versus Vader, but as I?ve said before, it wasn?t that spectacular, and she did have the native plants to use to her advantage. Nomi got a lot of experience from the Sith War, facing off very powerful Sith (including Ulic Qel-Droma, who was no slouch), and their followers. I?d be willing to admit that Dark Woman might have the edge as far as Force Power, but when it comes to the blade, Nomi takes the cake

    3. All I meant when I was referring to Hoth?s death was that his life was cut short, not trying to diminish his skill in anyway.

    4. Granted, Voolvif and Hett would be a semi-close match, but I still feel that Monn would take the win. About Hett using two sabers: Yes, that does take skill, but he was trained to use two sabers. Anakin just picked up two sabers (Yeah, I know, one was tossed to him, it?s a figure of speech :p ) and used them against Dooku. While the two sabers didn?t last that long against Dooku you have to remember that Anakin wasn?t trained to handle two sabers (too my knowledge at least). I also don?t put too much heart into the fact that Hett took down Aurra. From what I?ve read, most of the Jedi Aurra killed were taken by surprise or with the use of traps. Aurra was a failed Jedi padawan (DW?s failed padawan, I might add), and in a one on one fight, could be taken down with a little bit of skill. Voolvif was said to be a master of manipulating the Force for defensive purposes, a rare art form. This means he could just sit back and defend himself while waiting to spot a hole in his enemy?s fighting style.

    5. As I said about Qui-Gon earlier, the members of my team are so similar in nature, that they would have very little trouble following Qui-Gon?s orders. As stated above, Anakin has shown that he?s capable of following th
