Because Revan needs to be specified one way or the other. Whether or not he's specified during the drafting process is really meaningless. Just as long as he is by the time the matches start.

And you do know you're up again, right?

It's definitely not leaps and bounds, by any means. It's obviously close...and people will have their opinions. But I think that's what it comes down to, concerning these two. Who you like better. They're both pretty awesome, and they both went right around where they should have. One went right after the other.

    Right.

    kewl.

That still doesn't make much of any sense. Everyone waiting on darkside teams and having the first darksider picked at, like, #7, or whatever... that wouldn't really change a single thing. We'd just have all the darkside teams jamming up the middle of the order.

    Anyways, whatever.

I dunno. Picking second, you really need to take the best talent available. Because you have no idea if there will be too many DS teams or too many LS teams, or a good mix of both. So, you have to hedge your bets, and keep options available to do either a good team, or a good collection of individuals, IMO. So, downgrading a pick because the other people took too many of the same "side" just seems ... off. There is NEVER a problem with taking Sidious the pick after Luke. period.

Where is the value of the pick if in having a real good first pick, if you dont have valuable players to build around him.

What's the value of having a good, cohesive team if you don't have the horses to ride to a teams battle?

So nobody should pick Sidious, then?

well since there are 5 other ds teams, at this point who is it easier to build a team around Yoda or Sid?

No, nobody should pick Sids. He's a pooka Sith at best.

So... once again, you're suggesting GMs should be able to see the future?

And actually there are more than 6 darkside teams currently, assuming that everyone who has a first round Sith, stays Sith the whole way through. But you think having six darkside teams out of sixteen total is a problem? You serious? You really think there aren't at least 36 darkisiders out there worth drafting?

Just out of curiosity, does a GM have to select which peak they want Sids at, perhaps not during the draft, but at least once the matches start? I would imagine most would go with Prequel Sids, as he would still beat almost all of the board at that point, but some still might go for crazy, uber-powerful Sids.

Nah. Palps is Palps. Crazy Dark Empire-class and Prequel Sids included.

Isn't DE Sids much better individually, but much worse in teams? Isn't that a bit of a conflict? Why should the GM get the best of both worlds when they occur at separate peaks?

    Not Another Sith Team, YIKES!
    Darth Tyranus
    Darth Maul

I was thinking of a trade. But Maul is a very good darksider, especially at this point. And with him I don't lose any of my drafting spots. Also as Tyranus as a leader, you have very little problem with cohesion because of his charisma and ability to manipulate people

There is no way I am predicting a gm can predict the future. However an experienced gm like Aragon should realize, even with new dsers, the ds talent pool is not as deep as the ls pool. If one was to go back and analyze past champions, and whats has derailed powerful ds teams, it is usually one too many ds teams.

Further I think taking the first round pick, you should have an idea as to who you want to build around them. Perhaps creating a list. This list would also be helpful in pming picks. The list of secondary picks for a ls team is deeper than ds.

Wouldn't each of the following GM's that selected after Aragorn face the exact same problem though, and by your logic, should they not have taken Sids either? How long should he have lasted until it would've been worth it? I think I understand what you're saying, I just don't agree with the logic. Someone was going to have to pick Sidious, and it's better to not let him slip so far that he would become a steal and someone could build a monster team around him.
