Good to meet you Ben, my name is also Ben so obviously you have good taste and I am already inclined to like you.

We have another thing in common. I have a son who is transgender, he came out to me about a year and a half ago. He is my world. It's been a journey, but wouldn't change it for anything. He is so much happier and successful when he doesn't have to pretend to be something he isn't, words can't even describe.

I wish for you all the best, and I hope you find all the happiness in the world. I don't know you, like at all, but I am thankful to have been a part of the community you chose to reach out to in such a personal way. So proud of you, nothing but love. The hell with it, I am hugging.....

Hope to see you around the community, I don't get out much beyond the RPF....but I'm always around if you want to talk.

 

Hi Mikaboshi, and thank you so much for your good wishes. I'm glad your son is doing well. He's very lucky to have a supportive dad in you. So many trans people don't have that. I pretty much spend my time in the JCC--I suspect because I'm a dreadful person. I do poke around here and there at times, though, and I'll make it a point to look for you.

So...man. I kinda teared up reading this. You know how much I love and admire you. Always have. I'm so proud of you and happy that you've found what brings you joy. I'm gonna go wipe my face now.

 

The guys could definitely use the extra cool. The only real nut the women's team ever had was SkywalkerNumbers; the guys on the other hand still have Bowen and I'm not sure even someone as cool as Ben can fully compensate for that lunatic.

Trying to find the right words. Hope this came off okay.

I'll admit I've always had some trouble grasping the whole dysphoria thing because I've always thought of gender as just kind of a silly, somewhat societally problematic concept in total, but far be it for me to deny someone feels the way they feel or to look down on them for anything of the sort. You're not the first person I know who's come out as trans, and just like the others you're to be taken seriously and respectfully. That means you'll be referred to as Ben (or Yorick), and perhaps more importantly sincerely thought of as Ben and male, not because you wish for me to but because that's what the truth is.

Anyway, either way I've always thought you were pretty cool. and honestly one of the nicer people around here. I'm glad you're being true to yourself, and I'm glad that you feel comfortable talking about these kinds of things here. I wish you all the best going forward, and along with everyone else here am fully offering of hugs and support whenever you need it.

I don't know you, but I feel happy for people living how they want to live. Be that as their chosen gender, with their chosen partner, or in their chosen lifestyle. Congrats, poor Yorick!
