ST This may be the last Star Wars movie?!?

Sorry for the title, I got inspired by another thread that got locked

Before doing so with mine... I don't think that is being discussed elsewhere...


I wonder, now Star Wars being property of Walt Disney...
What has more value to them is the brand and the fact that it's still very popular with younger audience, thanks to Clone Wars, Angry Birds...etc.

They can build theme parks with it.
They can surf a long way with EXISTING material.
They can surf a long way with the new cartoon series Rebels.

How would they manage a BAD Episode 7?

We all know, for the Prequels, George Lucas would have completed his trilogy, no matter what, even if it affected the reputation of the Brand.

Do you think Disney would complete the sequel trilogy NO MATTER WHAT, if Ep7 is a joke/dissapointement, and risk affecting the Name Star Wars, and the value it represents to them.

 

No. I think they'd do stand alone films for a while if that happened.

 

None of that will happen. Episode 7 could be the worst film of all time (which, let’s be honest, is doubtful), but it will still make, at a bare minimum, one billion at the box-office. Therefore, Episodes 8 and 9 will be made no matter what.

OMG you're right! This will be the last Star Wars film ever, because the world is going to end on December 31st, 2012!

 

I know we're scraping the very bottom of the barrel - hell, we ran out of barrels to scrape ages ago - but seriously!!?

The new film has barely had a release date posted and people are prophesizing 'TEH END' ad nauseous.

The only way the Sequel Trilogy would not be made would be if Episode 7 only make 50 million dollars worldwide total. Which will never happen ever in anything ever.
