JCC "This should be a classic" - Overlooked songs throughout the ages

Not all music that's good enough to be a hit gets its chance in the spotlight. Potential classics get overlooked all the time for a variety of reasons. I've come across a number of them over the years that I wish more people knew about. And I'm sure most of you have too.

So I thought I'd make a thread for posting titles and/or links to songs/artists we want others to hear. I'll start off with a quintessential 80s should-have-been-classic I found a couple years back.

That's your opinion. I like it a lot. And I'm sure many others who are into 80s synth pop in general would also like it.

 

And of the record-buying public

 

We couldn't even go 1 page w/o a music fight breaking out.

The music sounds obviously dated but how Wanda Jackson's (queen of rockabilly) version of this didn't turn into a feminist standard done by later artists I'll never know. Turns the whole thing on its head. She was/is a bad ass.
