Remember the webcam threads? Ah, those were glorious times. I was in Prague during the summer of 03 and I was checking out the webcam and I suddenly saw Jango Fett come into view. I remember shooting an email to tf.n about it with the timestamps. I even got credit on tf.n's main page. That was one of the best moments of my interweb "life."

I also remember when the picture of Anakin having "disarmed" Dooku leaked. It was utter madness as a few people kept sending out links to anyone and everyone that asked. I think 506 and I both were sending out links for about three hours straight that morning. Excellent times.

I also remember the "lobster" thread as people tried to get a decent copy of the Peruvian version of the trailer before the US release. That was nutters! Let alone the "countdown" thread to the release of the first grievous image...which looked an awfully lot like Darth Vader IIRC.

Good times...excellent times.

Yeah, I remember that. I also remember when something pretty minor would happen on the webcam. "OMG!!, was that Lucas on the webcam!?"

I remember we saw Anakin joking Padme on the webcam once. That was good. I also remember when we were in the soundtrack recording session and we saw some shots from the film while talking with Rick. That's when we saw a blue lightsaber in the face of Palpatine. Speculation took off.

 

I can remember in the early days to the webcam trying to spot Lucas became something of a sport.

And I can remember on the last day of principal photography eveyone was convinced they were going to see Vader on the webcam. He didn't show. But we did get the cam into the wrap party where we first saw the films logo on a TV screen.

 

Did only people with Hyperspace see the webcam events? Or did it leak out everywhere?

 

I believe it was Hyperspace exclusive. Those were the days.

 

Yeah, Hyperspace only. Anybody who was anybody had it!

I remember if you didn't have Hyperspace you had to settle for the "distorted" version of the picture that people would produce.

 

The 'release' of the Back in Black video was the most glorious example of messageboard mayhem.

I remember the DarkKNight debacle all too well. DS finally outed him for being a foiler...quite the drama.

 

I can remember posting timestamps in the webcam thread of 'something that might have been something' and then finding that several other people had done exactly the same thing. I remember Mace_Windoo.

Oh yeah, Box Office Game starting up again in the YJCC

 

I started making one, didn't like it and never finished it. It's on my to-do list.

 

Well move it to the top of the list! It'd be nice to have one for the IMAX release.

I'm actually going to try and get back into the Banner Making gig. I want to come up with one for Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem by the time it comes out in December

Arrrg, If I had my way I'd overthrow ScurvyDog thar and put up POTC banners everywar! But alas...

 

I forgot about that sock. Too late to use it now me thinks but maybe next year.
