A short time from now, in a city far far away....

    JAG WARS

    Sat 23rd March
    Hampden Stadium
    Partick Thistle
    V
    Rangers

Will spunky wee farmboys, Partick Thistle, defeat the Evil Ibrox Empire? Or will foul warlord Darth Amoruso be victorious? GASP ! at the price of the pies....
GAG ! at the smell in the toilets....
JEER ! as Barry Ferguson gets sent off (again).......
LAUGH ! till you pee yourself if, by any chance, Rangers don't win..........

Who'd have thought it would be Rangers v Thistle and Celtic v Ayr in the two semi-finals - Old Firm final anyone or what about a nice family final - Thistle v Celtic ;)

Keep up Cass - it is the Scottish cup. Ayr have managed to get to the final of the CIS cup to play Rangers and the semi-final of the Scottish cup to play Celtic.

Just parted with £100 for five Hampden tickets.......only one week till Thistle meet Rangers.
And I sense a great disturbance in the Force -
I foresee Barry Ferguson, sitting in the centre circle, crying....
I foresee Aex McLeish leaving by the back door with a jacket over his wee ginger heid...
However, I'm not quite daft enough to bet on any of that........

    Gordy's Match Report

but it was only 1 - 0 for 70 minutes, during which time Thistle had plenty of chances, none of which, unfortunately, went in... :(

of course that final score was what decided the match, but Thistle were by no means humiliated. :D

    Beforehand, I was afraid of a big 7 - 0 thumping.

And, in terms of crowd performance, I must inform you that 11,000 Jags fans completely outsung the 30,000 Cream Buns, who were very very quiet throughout.

    singing highlights:
    Thistle songs

"hullo hullo, we're top of the league and you're no...."
    (tune of "The Sting") ;)

"one team in Glasgow, there's only one team in Glasgow, one team in Glas-gooow, there's only one team in Glasgow"
    (tune of "Juan Calamera")

Rangers songs (on the subject of local footballing talent versus a high-priced team of Dutch and German imports)

"there'll be no tartan army in japan"
(tune of "Coming round the mountain")

"We'll be watching England - so will you"
(tune of "Coming round the mountain")

    "Deutschland Uber Alles"
cos top scorer, Nerhlinger, was German.

Highly debatable sentiments to express in a broad Glasgow accent......

    Pie Report:
The Hampden steak pies were excellent, well filled and moist (like my pants at half-time)
The vegetarian option of macaroni pies were also well received by members of my party
The mutton pies, however, were just mutton pies, and there is nothing much that can be said to redeem them, except perhaps that nobody actually died after eating one........

and to conclude, with reference to the final match of the Cup
    ::sings::
"Oh its a Grand Old Team to play for....... :D

my fat pal Stan (who sings in the band) personally ate six mutton pies, plus two cups of Bovril, over the course of the game.

All that on top of the bottle of single malt he demolished on the way to the ground and the 20 Benny Hedgehogs he smoked during it.

the fat fecker has a permanent doctor's prescription for something called Zoton 5000, which is a sort of nuclear-powered indigestion cure... big pink pills that 007 could use to neutralise those acid baths that bad guys keep trying to lower him into...
