So, you see a thread you'd like to comment on, but you can't? Well, we'll just transfer those comments here.

The thread about what happened on your bday... I always assumed nothing did, because I know no one famous was born on it. However, I learned that:

1934- the first prisoners landed on Alcatraz
    1965- the Watts Riot began
1955- Hulk Hogan was born (aha! amazing)
1966- the Chevy Camaro was introduced
1996- Internet Explorer was released (The internet was a b-day present for me?)
1972- Last US ground troops left Vietnam
    1919- Andrew Carnagie died

If you'd like a quick link to the site to find out what happened on your bday, here you go.

Or, you can post random musings related to other threads.

    Carry on.

I wouldn't mind posting in that "Funniest JCer" thread. I could be the coolest kid in the chess club. Like Lewis Skolnick.

Also, on my birthday in 1938, Orson Wells scared the crap out of the nation. Not by prophesing my birth, but with his whole "War of the Worlds" broadcast.

My birthday year was eventful as well.

1968 = Martin Luther King, Jr., Robert Kennedy and Malcom X all assassinated.

Is that some kind of omen for my life? :(

 That is pretty coincidental Kate!

I looked up my birthday... and nothing happened. There was something there, of course, but all they had was a peace traty of the Russo-Japanese War or something like that *sigh*

    Christopher Walken kicks ass.

If there's one actor that I can associate with a psychopath, it's him. He's just so damn cool.

And he's the only Bond villain to ever win an Oscar. Dandy. :)

Yeah, Walken is honestly off his rocker and it's wonderful. I love him to pieces. The Weapon of Choice video is utterly priceless. I must watch it at least once a month.

And let's not forget CW impressions. Mixed with Star Wars. And Han Solo! And... well, you know ;)

I want to help Shorty run for his Iraqi presidential spot. The Iraqi people need to elect another madman! And Shorty would gladly take up Saddam's porn empire.

He had a great voice. 80s Geeks know him for being Ultra Magnus in Transformers the movie. He was also the colnel in Beavis and Butthead Do America.

As Kate said, he was also the original Elliot Ness in the old Untouchables show.

Oh yeah, I didn't know which Airplane character he was until I saw a clip on the news. I remember him on Unsolved Mysteries, too! How sad :(

    Disney DVD Thread
Uh... what's the big deal? I have a DIVX player and I thought it was a good idea. I was upset that it went under. Why is everyone so mad? Everyone is just saying it's stupid but no one is saying why it's a bad idea. Someone please explain...

I'm with you about the Divx thing, Rachel. It's not a bad idea, they were cheaper than regular DVDs, and around $5 right?

Think of it this way, if you rent a disposable movie, you don't have to worry about it being covered in greasy pizza fingerprints, like most kid-type rentals I seem to get.
