I just like that we got confirmation that the Clone Trooper Armor was used for some years after the clone war before switching over to Storm Trooper Armor.:D:clone:
I wonder if we will visually see the move over?

But I will definitely be getting these comics first chance I get.

You know, if they’re still using the clone armor, I️ guess the book takes place over a longer timespan than I️ assumed from the text, something like 17 years.

So, if Eli’s only a few months out from graduation when they meet Thrawn, was he originally attending a Republic Judicial academy?

Ooh, I have high hopes for this one. I really enjoyed the work Ross and Woodard did for Darth Maul. :)

And as someone who has yet to read the novel --

Hahaha, did Thrawn train a troop of suicide bomber squirrels? Poor things. Okay, apparently not trained, but lured in to the encampment. Our university once had a student who dressed the campus squirrels in tiny cutesy hats and Thrawn's move here is such a twisted inverse of that fond memory that I can't help but laugh. Okay, sorry, thanks for tuning in to 'Off Topic with Pez'.

I think it is suppose to show "this guy has been here a while, living off the land." Messy hair, messy way of dressing, ect.

He's been depicted as having long hair in his exile before.

I will never stop being amused by how much this picture looks like a Duros in a wig.

I must admit that he looks very attractive on these new pages :p but I also liked the beautiful illustration posted here when he meets Voss Parck in Mist encounter.

Even if I would have preferred a 100% red eyes version in the comics, but well, they have to follow the style of Rebels... (but I'm glad he doesn't have the ugly big forehead he has in Rebels)

We essentially have Mist Encounter as a comic now! SWEET! It was cool it made a comeback in the Thrawn novel, but now actually seeing it is something I never thought we'd get in any version of the EU. Plus -- Voss Parck in a comic! That's a first!

I thought the encounter happened around 9 BBY? This would mean they would still use the clone armor for 11 years after ROTS. This is awesome imo :D:clone:

Haha, I must be one of the few who think: Quick, get this man to a barber shop!
Really don't like the messy hair look.

Noticed one change in the story compared to the book...

The scene where Thrawn takes off the helmet - this appears to be when he is apprehended on the Strikefast. But in the book he only wore the armor temporarily to get to the transport and discarded it before it took off (he had it explode, much to Eli's amazement).

Minor change I guess in the scheme of things. But all that hair must have made the trooper helmet awfully tight...

@missingwords When is the clone trooper armor decommissioned & the stormtrooper armor made standard? The Lah'mu thing in RO is around 13 BBY, & the Death Troopers have Stormtrooper armor, yet in previews of the Thrawn comic, (somewhere around 14-11 BBY), there's clone armor?

    Matt Martin‏@missingwords
It’s not an abrupt change, it gets phased in over time. But not too many years after RotS. Only the early part of the Thrawn comic will have clone troopers.

Did we have confirmation the beginning of Thrawn is that late? I kind of assumed it was the same year as ROTS because that's where Mist Encounter was and it fits with V-Wings and clones.

    Matt Martin‏@missingwords
That’s why I said the early part has clones: it’s not that long after RotS.

Yeah, I was just surprised that it was years plural.

    Matt Martin‏@missingwords
I was speaking about the change being “not too many years” not the start of the comic.

That was Phase 1 Clone Armor. Wasn't that all phased out well before the end of the Clone Wars?
