THX 1138 DVD

I have never seen the film but I liked the first trailer that came out. I also liked the idea and Orwell's 1984 is one of my favorite books. I have been wondering whether I should buy the DVD. Has anyone seen the film? Is anyone else getting the DVD. It will come to stores at 12:00 midnight tonight (I guess). Tuesday the 14th.

I saw this movie a long time ago, and don't really recall liking it. I'm past the stage of DVD newness where owning "significant" films makes you feel cool and/or smart, so I'm not going to buy this. I'll probably rent it, but despite all the cross marketing via SW, it isn't something I'd watch more than once, and I've got better then to do with $20.

Still, having it sampled on the downward spiral is teh cool.

 

I watched it about a year ago. The premise, though not new, was still interesting, but it was a little too "out there" for my tastes.

And a naked Robert Duval is not art.

 

I was going to get it.

Then I remembered that Survivor All-Stars came out today. Guess which I got!

 

I don't know.
I may buy it next Tuesday when I buy the SW DVDs.
A lot of thought will have to be given as to whether or not I will actually buy THX.
1984 by George Orwell is a book I enjoyed so this film looks like it might be similar to that. Then again if it is way out in left field (pardon the trite sport's analogy but I'm a bit tired and not thinking of a better one) I probably won't like it.

But it is not for everyone.
I don't know if it is a good film or a bad film but it is a different film. I liked watching it.

I bought the DVD shortly after it was released, but still haven't watched it. I'm lazy.
