Memph, TN Tim in Iraq

Hey guys. Sorry it's been so long since I've been in touch, but I haven't had personal internet access since I've been in the army. I sa Tim's and Kevin's posts at TheHouse website so I decided to drop by. I'm in Iraq right now and I'll probably be here for five or six months. We don't have any firm dates. Life in the Army has been alright, but very chaotic. I'm stationed at Fort Bragg, NC when i'm not deployed. My unit is actually the 504th not the 501st but I think these guys are cooler anyways. There is a guy in my platoon you'd guys would love. He has a ton of star wars tatoos. My favorites are the mandalorian skull on his left shoulder and Darth Mauls skin ripping through his human skin on his right upper arm.

Hopefully when i get done with this deployment I'll have some leave and be able to visit Memphis. i'm also planning on getting cable internet when I get back so I will stay in touch better. I should be able to post here again in the next couple of days but after that it'll most likely be a month before I can again. How is everything going? Later.

Glad to know that you're all right. We've been wondering about you since you left, and hoping for the best. We'll be praying for your safe return, and looking forward to seeing you when you make it back to us.

We're so glad to hear from you and that Army life is okay. My cousin in stationed in Ft. Hood and will be returning for his 4th or 5th trip to Iraq next month, so we're pretty good at sending care packages. Give us your addy and we'll send you some goodies.

I have a friend who is also stationed at Ft. Hood. He is in the 4th Infantry Division. I'll definitely take any care packages I can get. I don't have my Addy on me right now, but I'll get it and put it on soon. I have a couple of SW books with me to keep me company. I also just bought Jedi Academy for computer and have it to play on my laptop. A little taste of home I guess. Thank you for your prayers. Hopefully the time will pass pretty quickly.

 

Hey I just got the Address from a buddy here. The only thing I could ask for would be a comic every now and then. Those are hard to come by here.

My cousin is in the 4th infantry. I don't know his current title, he just got a promotion, but he's a tank commander - his name is Charles Jones, FWIW. And we can definitely send comics.

 

That's cool that we know people in the same Division. Sometimes it is a small world. My friend is Specialist(I think) Rick Sutter. As far as the comics go I really like the prequel era and old republic era.

 

Ya hear that, folks? If you have any Prequel era or Old Republic era comics you're done with, bring them to TimmyCon so we can put together a care package for Tim.

I'll try and get an inventory posted of what we're shipping over to Tim in the next day or so. If anyone has anything to add, my plan is to get it all shipped off this Friday.

Oh, and Traci told me about this site where they'll send free spices to our overseas military personnel for their MREs. I dug it up and submitted Tim's info. It doesn't say anything about 1 per customer, so go on and sign him up for more!

Hey thanks guy. I really want you to know how much I appreciate everything. It really helps to know there are people back home thinking about ya. I definetly appreciate the prayers. I guess it's times like these you need them the most. It's been rough lately especially since there has been a death in my family, my Uncle. But I'm dealing with it pretty well all things considered. I got to go but I'll try to post more. Thanks again.

 

My deepest condolences on the loss of your Uncle, Tim. It's hard enough to lose someone. But to be thousands of miles away has to make it that much worse.

You have two more care packages on the way to you right now, and they should arrive sometime next week according to the US Postal Service. Hope you enjoy them!

 

Thanks Tim, it is hard but I know he's in a better place. That helps. The word is we'll be coming home in about three months are so. I just can't wait to get home and be with my family some. i'm going to do my best to come visit. When is Midsouth con? I might be able to make it. If not hopefully you guys will have some kind of get together that I can crash. later.

 

Tim: I think MSC is in late March, but if you come home,we'll throw a party for you, OK?

I meant 'if' since Tim's home is really in South Carolina. So, we'll throw a party if he comes "home" to us in here in Memphis. (Sorry. Gotta know the history of us SMT old-timers, I guess.)
