I don't think this group will ever be normal in public.
Aside from various definitions of what is "normal"...we've got alot of people who can express their love for SW (both in costume and in everyday clothes) without crossing over into that area of being the stereotypical image of a "sci-fi geek"

So everyone stop with the "crawled up your butt?" comments, and focus on representing JKOC as best as possible next Monday!

Ohio Garrison is going to meet us at "Your's Truely" around 5pm...everyone there (before 6:30) that's the rally point! They're gonna change into armor, and away we go. Any questions?

 

The Akron group should be able to be there before 6:30. But due to unknown traffic conditions, no promises.

My name's Michael, and I'm with the 501st Stormtrooper Legion. I'll be at the book signing on the 9th, and I hope to meet some of you folks there. Nice to know there's more costuming groups in the area!

 

BMack...calling you normal is like called a blizzard a little snowfall!

And who ever said I called myself normal...normal is in the eye of the beholder, you can call it is a mountian or a lump of dirt, it's still the same.

Nice to hear from you Beltayn...don't mind if their are a few more Jedi then Imperials around though!

well...I don't know, I mean we've got Obi-wan/Anakin with the Jedi Robes, BUT Han/Luke/Evil Anakin for the Armor...I just can't decide!!

 

I'm not one for armor.
But Han in the Correlian pants or Luke in that little black jumsuit, well...

 

Well for you chicks that dig armor, here's another one. If I have my armor put together in time I will be in armor, if not I will be there anyways. I won't be hard to spot, I'll be the guy dressed in black, with an Imperial Forces T-shirt on.

Wahhh...not only am I missing out on Tim Zahn, but guys in armor too? Bah! A plane ticket as my belated birthday present would be much appreciated.

Yeah, but Jedi robes tend to stink after awhile...I mean, did you ever once see ANYONE change clothes, even after diving in trash compactors, swimming in lakes, running through swamps and jungles, and sweating in the desert?

Luke didn't even change clothes in ANH until the end (unless he was nekkid under the flight suit). Ditto on Solo.

Kenobi wore the same stinky robes throughout Ep.1, Ep2 and probably won't get them changed in 3, either. He probably didn't change them all those years leading up to ANH either!

It kinda leads you to wonder whether or not the Jedi Council has a rule against personal hygiene.

Maybe that's why Aayla Secura wears leather instead (for which us males are eternally greatful)

Hello! Dry cleaning anyone?!

I'll give Leia some credit though- at least she changed clothes a few times (especially in ROTJ). Luke wore the same black outfit throughout the whole episode (well, at least they weren't robes)

Now armor, on the other hand, has it's advantages...

1) No one can see us making faces at incompetent officers behind our helmets
2) Chicks dig the armor
3) We can be asleep on guard duty and no one would know (see #1)
4) I can set it up in my window and make people think someone is in the house while I'm gone
5) Chicks dig the armor
6) It's good protection from the elements (can be converted for various hostile environments when we're out hunting Rebels)
7) It cleans off easy (Jawa & Ewok guts, for example)
8) Chicks dig the armor
9) People are apt to move out of the way when a stormtrooper comes through
10) Static-burst...
