And I thought earlybird was the only one cruel with nasty cliffhangers. PLLLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSE write on after the move.

Anyway, I liked you talking more about Consulars in this update. It is nice to see more corner stones of the old Jedi Order and have them explained so nicely.

Consular?s specialised in seeking to use the Force in ways other than as a warrior. They were healers and researchers and seers and some became librarians and worked in the archives.

Another ten days and it will be a year since I updated this. I am going to continue this, but unfortunately I’m not inclined to re-post the entire content of this story, so I hope this re-cap will suffice and I will add the cut off part at the beginning of this post.
    Time and Space:
The story begins with Obi-Wan having visions of the future and he becomes a threat to Palpatine so after being kidnapped by Palpatine and Carbon frozen his body drifts in space in a derelict ship for thirty years. Everything happens with Anakin turning only Padmè didn’t die and she raised Luke and Leia with Bail on Alderaan and they joined the alliance. Padmè and Bail die when Alderaan in destroyed.

Han and Chewie and R2 play their part throughout the story and join the alliance too and with Qui-Gon, rush off to rescue Leia from Vader who is on Bespin. Vader recognised his old master Qui-Gon, and tries to capture him, but Lando helps them escape. However, as in canon Han is caught and frozen in carbonite.

The story continues similar to canon, but Luke, Leia, chewie and Lando, go to Tatooine to rescue Han. Yoda and Qui-Gon head there and rescue all of them.

They bring a frozen Han back to Yavin 4 and it is then that Obi-Wan is discovered in the derelict ship and both Han and Obi-Wan are brought back to life.

It takes Obi-Wan awhile to reconcile the missing thirty years and learn to live as a young 25 year old in the future and along the way Obi-Wan, Han, Luke and chewie go to Ilum to find crystals and find Garen in the caves on Ilum he is thirty years Obi-Wan’s senior now, and during his exile he was married to Sara and had a child Kelsy who were killed in an explosion.
Later in the story Obi-Wan gets aboard the first death star and is tortured by Vader, but in the midst of the battle he escapes and works within, to help a group of prisoners and some crew to escape, and then Luke blows it up as in canon with Vader trying to catch Luke.

Obi-Wan and the prisoners including Tasha who intrigues Obi-Wan are rescued by Luke and Han.

Eventually Tasha goes off on her own quest to find out her parentage and Yavin 4 is abandoned and the alliance go to Hoth which as in canon was eventually overrun by Vader and they finally re-group on Endor and Luke with Obi-Wan get on the new Death star and battle the Emperor, Vader kills him and Luke and Obi take a seriously injured Vader (Anakin) to Endor where he apologises to Yoda, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and makes peace with Luke and Leia before dying.

The alliance destroys the death star and begins arresting all the Imperials and the new republic is born. The Jedi begin training again on Yavin 4, teaching young ones and others too

Tasha has become an enigma to Obi-Wan and he can’t stop thinking about her, and goes to rescue her from Almas, where she has gone to find a journal that her mother wrote that will tell her who her Jedi Grandmother and Jedi grandfather are.

Sorry its short there was so much action and fun things that happened between Han and Obi-Wan and the development of the characters. I have added the cut off part from the last post from nearly a year ago on the other site. Hope this helps to generalise the story so far..

This is the missing part from the previous post a year ago..

“They were round and hovered in the air sending low energy plasma blasts toward the youngling who deflected them with their training sabres. They were controlled by the master instructor and were used sometimes with helmets covering the initiate’s eyes so they would have to rely on the force to tell them where the blast would strike. Is there anything else you would like to know?”

“My mother said she met a nice Jedi master who was a consular and computer expert and archivist. What’s a Consular?”

“Consular’s specialised in seeking to use the Force in ways other than as a warrior. They were healers and researchers and seers and some became librarians and worked in the archives.”

She was the one who gave my mother the journal and the box with her name on it. My mother, Quoia said she was from the temple on Coruscant.”

“A Jedi Master from Coruscant gave your mother the journal!” He said feeling unsure why that information bothered him. “Does it say what the master’s name was?” Obi-Wan asked.

“Yes, she mentions her a few times. Her name was Tahl, Master Tahl.”

“Master Tahl.” he said slowly. Connecting the aura he’d sensed before when the lid opened, he’d thought it was familiar, but he hadn’t been able to place it until now.

“Yes, did you know her? It says here that she was a librarian in the Jedi archives and she was born on a planet called Noori.”

“Yes, I knew Master Tahl she was a great Jedi and her base was the temple on Coruscant. As a matter of fact the reason Garen and I came here once was to pick up Master Tahl and take her back to Coruscant.”

“Oh this is so exciting; you knew one of my mother’s teachers. Wouldn’t it be great if you knew Quoia’s parents, my grand parents – oh! This is thrilling.” She said as she began flipping through the next few pages.

Tasha’s excitement and the talk about her parents was making Obi-Wan feel uncomfortable and he felt compelled to walk away and collect his thoughts. A memory of Siri rose to his mind; they had been so close to forming an attachment and if they’d had a child together, it would have been impossible for them to remain in the Jedi order. They would have been expelled; as it would be for any Jedi.

For some reason he felt anxious by the thought that two Jedi that he might have known would go against the code and have a child together and still remain in the order.

“I didn’t know any Jedi master’s who went against the code or had a child and I doubt very much if Quoia would know the identity of her birth parents!” He said and he wondered if it was just the hopes of an impressionable young padawan who wanted to believe she was the product of two Jedi masters.

Tasha could sense a touch of annoyance in his voice and there was an uncomfortable sense radiating from him. “You seem rather touchy about that subject and Jedi doing something against the code Obi-Wan, have I hit a nerve? I know you said attachment wasn’t allowed, but I get the feeling you might have come close yourself. Did you love another Jedi?”

Tasha waited for an answer and she was surprised when Obi-Wan was at a loss for words and he stared up toward the hole in the wall. This was the first time she’d seen him with a pained look on his face. She was inquisitive now and she wanted to know everything there was to know about him, but she also felt guilty about prying. “I’m sorry Obi-Wan; I didn’t mean to upset you.”

Obi-Wan sighed. “It was a long time ago, and yes, you’re right I fell in love with another student, her name was Siri Tachi. At first she didn’t like me; we were rivals and no matter how hard I tried to be her friend she wouldn’t accept me. Siri was headstrong and impatient and I suppose I was too; eventually we went on a few missions together with our masters and we grew close. On one dangerous mission we realised we loved each other and we talked about leaving the order. We were at a vulnerable age, and we didn’t understand the ramifications of our actions and after speaking with our master’s and much soul searching and meditation Siri and I decided to commit ourselves to being the best Jedi we could be.”

“Siri Tachi, she sounds a lot like me – headstrong and impatient… So, how close were you too?” Tasha wondered whether there was a chance …

“No! I know what you’re thinking and I can assure you Siri and I were never intimate.”

“Ok – ok, don’t get all defensive on me, it was just a thought and to be honest with you I’m very happy you’re not related to me. So what happened to her?”

“Garen told me she died in the clone wars as did many of the Jedi.”

“I’m sorry Obi-Wan she must have been special.”

“All the Jedi I knew were special and Siri was a good friend, but more than that she was a loyal and committed Jedi, they all were and they will always have a place in my heart.”

“I’m beginning to realise that and I think I understand why my parents continued to fight the empire. They couldn’t let their friends die without trying to save them. I do remember my mother hiding many of her friends and she was devastated when she couldn’t save them all.”

“They were family, not biological, but family all the same.” He said as he continued to clear a path.Tasha could sense his discomfort in talking about his Jedi friends, so she thought that she’d leave him alone for awhile.

    Several minutes later she laughed.

Obi-Wan turned from his task. “What’s so funny?”

“My mother was chosen by a knight and she wrote that her first day as a padawan was awful. She was trying to impress her new master, but she spilt a tray of food all over her; and later they were in the sparring arena and her master was checking her sabre style, but Quoia kept dropping her sabre. She was so nervous and wanted to make a good impression that she kept making mistakes.”

“Yes it is can be daunting especially until they get to know each other. What was her master’s name?”

“Knight Jessica Somerset, did you know her?”

“No I never heard of her.”

Tasha flipped through pages of missions and study info and came to a part where her mother had won a sabre tournament when she passed her trials to become a senior apprentice. “It seems that my mother’s early problems with her light sabre didn’t prevent her from winning tournaments when she was older and she speaks very highly of her master; they became very close during the years of her apprenticeship.

“Has she mentioned her biological parents yet?”

“No she hasn’t and most of her writing is about Master Somerset, you don’t think that she could be her mother do you?”

Obi-Wan wiped the dust off his face. “No I doubt very much that they would pair mother and daughter together if indeed her mother was a Jedi.”

Tasha studied Obi-Wan and then asked him. “You don’t think her parents were Jedi do you?”

“It wasn’t something that Jedi were allowed to do, Tasha, but I honestly don’t know.”

He sensed that she was determined to find out and he moved away to give her space, he didn’t want to upset her and thought it best to let her see for herself. It wasn’t long before he felt her sadness through the Force.

“Tasha what is it, what does she say?”

“The Council on Coruscant requested that all available Jedi were to be sent to Coruscant to increase the number of Jedi assigned to fight with the republic armed forces during the war against the separatists. A few Jedi were sent and Master Somerset was one of them. Quoia felt her master die when their bond broke and although the Council said they weren’t sure; she knew that she was dead. The Clone wars were taking Jedi to their deaths more and more and Quoia wanted to know how her master died and if she could bring her body home for a funeral. However, no one would tell her anything and as the war escalated some of the knights and masters of Almas invoked the right of denial and refused to go to Coruscant to join the clone wars.”

Obi-Wan listened intently, he’d heard the phrase ‘right of denial’ but he hadn’t known that the academy had invoked the old rule. “To lose her master and have such unrest in the temple must have been hard on her. What happened then?”

“She had her master’s security code to access the academies records, and she said she was looking for anything that might tell her why Almas Jedi would invoke the right of denial. She was almost ready for the knight trials herself and she wanted to fight like her master had, and she couldn’t understand why the Jedi here didn’t want to join the battle. It says here that while she was going through the records she came across her records and in them was her biological mother’s name.”

Obi-Wan felt his heart beat faster and he didn’t understand why he felt so anxious at learning her identity. He looked at Tasha who was separating the page to turn it over when Garen poked his head through the large hole and threw a knotted rope down toward them.

“Here we go Obi-Wan this rope should balance your climb out of there; everything up here is secure and the walls are stable. You two will have no trouble climbing out of there. Caleb is hungry and so am I so we thought that we can collect the holocron's and data disks tomorrow, come on let’s get back to the ship and eat.

“Thanks Garen we’ll be right up,” Obi-Wan said and turned back to Tasha. “Come on Tasha you can read the rest when we get out of here.”

Tasha stood up slowly and closed the book, putting it in the box. Her eyes were misty and she hugged it close to her chest as she stepped toward Obi-Wan. “I know who my mother’s mother was and she was a Jedi master.”

[face_thinking] Hm, can we believe him? Well, he was in love and the jedi consider that attachment worse than an affair.

Anyway, great update. Can´t wait for you to continue this story. :D

Obi-Wan sensed that her revelation would affect him somehow, and he glanced past Tasha and saw that the length of braid that bound the journal was lying on the floor.

He stepped over to pick it up as she moved to the rope and was gazing up.

    “Who was she?” He asked.

Not realising what she was about to say would rock Obi-Wan’s world she excitedly said. “My Grandmother was Jedi Master Tahl.” She said glancing back to him with a wide grin on her face.

“Master Tahl! That’s impossible!” Obi-Wan said with disbelief in his voice.

“Obi-Wan, it says so right here and it has dates, and there’s a print out of the records stuck inside the journal. Wow and to think that Master Tahl was the Jedi who gave my mother this diary in the first place. She must have known all along that Quoia was her daughter!” Tasha said reaching for the rope.

Obi-Wan felt sick because he knew that Tahl and his master Qui-Gon had been close, very close and if Tahl was the mother then could it be that Qui-Gon was the father? He watched Tasha hook the journal into her tunic and begin climbing up toward Garen.

Obi-Wan gazed down at the plaited braid and scooped it up; a flurry of emotions rocked him as the faint signature imbedded in the hair filled him with recognition. He couldn’t move from the spot and his fingers gripped the braid tightly. The aura he was sensing from the braid was Qui-Gon’s and that meant that his master was Tasha’s grandfather.

Obi-Wan sat down slowly on the step and stared at the braid, it was brown and there were no grey hairs in it. He remembered when he became Qui-Gon’s apprentice his hair was brown with no grey; strands of grey hadn’t appeared until Obi-Wan was in his senior years. He fingered the braid and assumed that master Tahl used Qui-Gon’s hair to give his daughter something of his. That meant she was born when Obi-Wan was a young apprentice.

    ooo

“Hey Obi-Wan! Are you coming?” Garen called out from the hole in the wall.

Obi-Wan looked up seeing that Tasha was already out and he drew a calming breath and tucked the braid into his pocket, so many questions and thoughts were running through his mind. He climbed up the steps he’d made and used the force to jump out through the hole, landing next to Garen.

“What was the hold up Obi-Wan? I thought you were beginning to like it down there and what is Tasha so excited about; she was chatting that quickly to Caleb and I’m sure she mentioned Master Tahl’s name.”

Obi-Wan glanced after Tasha who was deep in discussion with Caleb as they headed down the corridor.

    “What did she say Garen?”

“She said that finding the journal was worthwhile and then she said she wanted to have a shower and get all the dust and dirt off and she was going to find out all about Master Tahl. Then she told me to tell you to hurry up. What’s she talking about?”

Obi-Wan leant against the wall. “Garen in her journal it says that Master Tahl is Tasha’s grandmother!”

“That’s impossible!” Garen blurted out, but seeing the grave look on Obi-Wan’s face he stepped closer. “You can’t believe the journal to be true; Master Tahl was a Jedi she wouldn’t have a child- ‘would she?”

“There are so many co-incidences, Garen, the box Tasha’s journal was in, has her mothers name engraved on it. ‘Quoia’ and I knew I’d heard that name before, but it took me awhile to remember when. I was a young apprentice and Qui-Gon told me to meet him in the garden of a thousand fountains. I got there early and I saw him and Tahl standing in the moonlight and they were gazing up at the stars. Qui-Gon said he loved the evenings. Master Tahl nodded and pointed to a very bright star and she said that one is called ‘Quoia’ and he inquired the meaning of it. She said that in her Noorian language it meant evening star and he smiled at her and said what a beautiful name.”

“That doesn’t mean she had a child and called her Quoia. It may just be co-incidence.”

“Master Tahl’s aura was in the leather casing of the journal and then there’s this.”

Obi-Wan pulled the braid out of his pocket and handed it to Garen. “You’ve been around long enough to recognise this signature; what do you sense?”

Garen didn’t have to hold it long to sense the familiar aura and his eyes told Obi-Wan that he knew it was Qui-Gon’s hair.

“This is so unbelievable, when - how? I can’t believe that Qui-Gon and Tahl would disobey the directive of the Jedi council and form an attachment; let alone have a child. They would have been punished severely and lost their place in the order, but that didn’t happen Obi-Wan, so there has to be another explanation!”

“Yes I’d like to believe so, but what explanation could there be!” Obi-Wan said.

“As far as – when - I remember that Master Tahl left the temple when I was about fourteen or so and she took an assignment to update the records on the Jedi academy ship the Chu’unthor2. It was stationed out in the mid rim and when she came back I always got the impression that she was avoiding us, but my master said that she was just dedicated to her work, and I had no reason to doubt him, because missions and my training kept Qui-Gon and I busy and away from the temple often as well.”

“So now you think the reason she left was to have Qui-Gon’s baby?” Garen questioned as they headed down the hall toward the ship.

“Well how else could she have hidden her pregnancy from the council and from what Tasha told me she seems to have proof; what if Qui-Gon knew too?” Obi-Wan said.

“You saw her more than I did Obi-Wan, did you ever sense anything between them?”

“I knew they liked each other, but they were always professional around me, but sometimes when they didn’t think I was watching I got the impression there was more to their friendship.”

“I remember years later when you contacted me, and told me she died on a mission It was only a few weeks after we’d picked her up from Almas.”

“Yes, she was sent to Apsolon, and my master and I were sent to rescue her. She was killed by the insurgents who objected to Jedi interference in their affairs.”

“How did Qui-Gon take her death?” Garen inquired.

“Badly, it took him awhile to get over it, but he did keep his emotions under control around the council, and he tried around me, but I could sense his pain. I didn’t know what to do because I had to keep my emotions in check as well. Master Tahl was a good friend and confidant to me too.”

“Yes, she was a great teacher and you told me that she helped you study Galactic History.”

“She was instrumental in helping me pass my exams. I didn’t like history very much and my master wasn’t that fond of it either, so he asked Master Tahl to help me. She was a very patient teacher, but I’m sure I frustrated her at times.”

“After she died, did Qui-Gon ever go to Almas or mention it or take an interest in the younglings that were there?”

“No he didn’t, and we never went there.”

Garen smiled. “Well then that answers that. If he knew he had a child surely he would have made sure she was alright, I know my life changed when I met Sarah and we had Kelsey and nothing would have stopped me from looking after them.”

    Ooo

Obi-Wan was meditating trying to come to terms with the possibility that Qui-Gon had fathered a child, and had a grand daughter. His thoughts went to a conversation he’d had with his master when he was a senior padawan and he’d confessed his love for Siri.

Qui-Gon had convinced him that there was no room for attachment and that they had to make a decision. Obi-Wan and Siri were torn, but couldn’t hurt their masters so they decided to concentrate on their commitment as Jedi. It was hard for them, but Qui-Gon was there for him and helped him live with his decision.

He wondered, was he a hypocrite or did he truly not know about Quoia and if so, it would be a shock for him to find out now and Obi-Wan certainly didn’t want Tasha being her usual impulsive self and blurt out her relationship to Qui-Gon the second they arrived at the Yavin base.

It wasn’t long before he heard Tasha’s voice asking Garen where he was. Obi-Wan sighed and drew a calming breath. He’d been waiting for her to begin asking questions and now he hoped he had the right answers.

    Ooo

Obi-Wan read her journal and it did have facts in it that he couldn’t dispute. Quoia was born about seven months after Tahl left to update the records on Chu’unthor2. The computer printout that was stuck inside the diary stated that Master Tahl arrived on Almas with a baby, and left a sealed envelope that was to be entered in the records if anything happened to her. Inside the envelope was a note and the braid, Qui-Gon’s braided hair, and it confirmed that the owner of the braid was the father.

Garen piloted the ship while Obi-Wan told Tasha about Qui-Gon and Tahl and explained to her that he doubted that Qui-Gon knew about Quoia.

“Why wouldn’t she tell him that she had a baby?” Tasha asked indignantly.

“I don’t know Tasha, but it wasn’t something that was allowed in the Jedi order.”

“Well, it did happen Obi-Wan, and because Master Tahl decided to have my mother I am here. I think she gave her the journal so that she wouldn’t miss her own child’s life. I’m sure my mother let Tahl read it when she came to visit, because there are notations on some of the pages that aren’t in my mother’s handwriting.

Obi-Wan wondered the same thing, and he also wondered what his master would say when they told him.

“When we arrive on Yavin 4 let me speak to Qui-Gon first. If he didn’t know about your mother it will be a shock to him.” Obi-Wan said as he handed the journal back to Tasha.

“Yes, I agree and I’m kind of anxious in case he doesn’t like me. I was a bit abrupt to him and everyone when I was on Yavin before.”

“I wouldn’t worry too much about Qui-Gon; when I told him you were on Almas, it was his suggestion that I come to find you.”

“Oh really, didn’t you want to come?”

“Yes, I did, and Qui-Gon sensed it, but there was a lot to do on Yavin 4 now that we are going to rebuild the Jedi order and I didn’t want to leave all the work to Qui-Gon and Luke, but he insisted that I wasn’t needed.”

    Ooo

Tasha chatted excitedly as their ship streaked through space and she fired questions at Obi-Wan.

“So what’s he really like? I didn’t talk to him that much when I was there.”

Obi-Wan leant back and thought about her question. “Qui-Gon is a great mentor and friend. He is very dedicated to his calling as a Jedi and his forte is the living force. Nevertheless, I do see a lot of him in you!”

    “Oh really, like what?”

“Well you are both stubborn when you believe you are right even if you’re wrong and Qui-Gon was always an individualist and deliberately defiant when it suited him. Does that sound like you Tasha?”

She grinned, because she had been all of those things when she first met Obi-Wan and tried to put him in his place on more than one occasion. “Ok I concede that I may have been a handful.”

“He told me just before I disappeared that I was the one who kept him grounded. I was honoured to be his apprentice.”

“When did he meet my grandmother?”

He met her when he was about eight I think; they were put in the same clan. He became an apprentice when he was eleven and Tahl was apprenticed when she was twelve. Qui-Gon was knighted six months before Tahl and he took missions as a negotiator and she specialised as a researcher and lore keeper.”

“How long have you known them?”

“I met Qui-Gon a year before he took me as his apprentice; he took a teaching post for a few months teaching sabre techniques and I was in his class. I met Master Tahl in the library when I was an initiate, and she was the Librarian; so I suppose I knew her longer than I did Qui-Gon. She was funny and kind and easy to talk to and very helpful.”

    Ooo

As the planet Yavin 4 came into view both Obi-Wan and Tasha gazed out of the viewing screen. She smiled at Obi-Wan, but it was an anxious smile and Obi-Wan felt his concern rise, knowing that he was to tell his master something that he never expected.

They both sat quietly as Garen landed and the ramp opened. Qui-Gon was in the hanger waiting. “Obi-Wan what should I do, there he is. Why is he waiting there does he know something?”

“Go with Garen he will arrange for your quarters and don’t worry so much, I will speak with him.”

She nodded and handed him the journal. “Here you will need this.”

Garen, Tasha and Obi-Wan, all walked down the ramp together, but at the bottom Garen led Tasha off and Obi-Wan headed for his master.

“Obi-Wan, it’s good to have you back, how did everything go on Almas? Did Tasha find her journal?” Qui-Gon said as he placed a hand on Obi-Wan’s shoulder and watched Tasha go off with Garen.

“Hello Master, yes Almas was very interesting and Tasha did find her journal.”

Was she happy that you went for her?” Qui-Gon glanced at her retreating back. “She seems worried.”

“Yes Master, she has quite a story to tell, and so do I.”

Qui-Gon raised an eyebrow. “You seem a bit anxious yourself; tell me what happened?”

“Master, can we go somewhere private to talk?”

“This sounds ominous Obi-Wan; are you alright?”

“Yes I’m fine, but I have some news and I’m not sure how you will take it.”

    Ooo

Qui-Gon settled on his couch waiting for Obi-Wan to tell him what was on his mind; but Obi-Wan kept pacing back and forth gripping the journal tightly.

“Obi-Wan, the force is erratic around you and I sense a lot of turmoil in your aura. Whatever it is that you are going to tell me I believe you should begin now before you collapse from exhaustion.”

Obi-Wan hadn’t realised that he’d been pacing and he turned to face Qui-Gon. “Master…”

    “Yes?”

Obi-Wan sighed and plopped down on the couch opposite Qui-Gon and closed his eyes centring his erratic thoughts and rested his arms across the journal.

Several deep calming breaths later he spoke. “Do you remember when Master Tahl took that assignment on the Chu’unthor2?”

“The Chu’unthor2! Force Obi-Wan that was a lifetime ago. However, yes I do it was early in your apprenticeship - why?”

“Do you know why she took it?”

“Yes, Master Yoda gave her the assignment to update the records on the ships computers.”

Obi-Wan rubbed his face, and for a moment he wondered if Master Yoda knew. “I believe that there was another reason why Master Tahl went away and didn’t return for over a year.”

“Obi-Wan what are you talking about? What other reason would she have to take the assignment? And what does Tahl have to do with Tasha and Almas?”

“Master – I mean no disrespect to you, and if I’m wrong I apologise in advance, but this is the journal that Tasha’s mother left for her, and it has factual evidence of her ancestry in it.”

“Obi-Wan you’re not making sense what does that journal have to do with Tahl taking a year long assignment?”

Obi-Wan could sense Qui-Gon’s confusion and it was apparent to him that Qui-Gon didn’t know about Tahl's pregnancy.

“Master, Tasha’s mother’s name was Quoia and she was born seven months after Master Tahl left on the Chu’unthor2.

Qui-Gon’s face took on a stunned stare and Obi-Wan could sense his thought process working overtime and revelation revealing itself in his eyes.

“Quoia’ Tasha’s mothers name was Quoia?”

    “Yes Master.”

‘Tahl told me once that it means evening star in Tahl’s native language; she mentioned that just before she left Obi-Wan, are you saying that you think Tahl took the assignment so she could have a baby?”

    “Your baby, Master.”

“Absolutely not Obi-Wan! I would have known; Tahl would have told me!” Qui-Gon said as he rose from the couch and began pacing himself.

“What makes you believe that it could be possible Padawan?” Qui-Gon said in a defensive tone.

Obi-Wan felt his masters annoyance rise and he wasn’t sure how far to take his questions.

    “Then it isn’t possible Master?”

Qui-Gon was at a loss for words for a moment and when he spoke it was calmer and quieter. “I’m not saying that it isn’t possible, but it can’t be true, Tahl wouldn’t keep a secret like that from me.”

“I don’t have an answer why she didn’t tell you Master, but the evidence points to that conclusion.”

    “Evidence’ where is it?”

“Here Master.” Obi-Wan held out the journal.

Qui-Gon sat down and stared at the box that held the journal as Obi-Wan handed it to him.

Qui-Gon ran his hand over the engraving on the lid and then opened it. The leather bound journal looked ominous as he gazed at it.

Obi-Wan felt a spike of emotion run through Qui-Gon as he touched the piece of braided hair around it. A sharp intake of breath signified that Qui-Gon felt his own aura on the hair and a faint signature imbedded in the leather told him that Tahl had touched this book.

Obi-Wan sat quietly while his master examined the journal and flipped through the pages that Obi-Wan had marked with a piece of cloth until he came to the section that held the birth certificate and the factual evidence. An hour went by as Qui-Gon read and re-read it and Obi-Wan could sense a nostalgic mood stir around Qui-Gon. He didn’t want to disturb his master so he remained quiet.

“I-I- this is incredible, but I can’t understand why didn’t she tell me?” Qui-Gon said mostly to himself.

He closed the journal and looked up to Obi-Wan. “We should contact Yoda, if he knew about this I would like to know why he didn’t tell me.”

    Ooo

It wasn’t long before the com-link connected and Qui-Gon asked Yoda. “Master Tahl confided in me she did. Her decision it was to leave the temple and have the youngling without your knowledge. Risk your place in the Jedi order she would not. Took the youngling to Almas and then returned to her duties she did.” Yoda explained to Qui-Gon.

“Was she ever going to tell me that I had a daughter?”

“Spoke in private many times we did; tell you she wanted to, but risk your place as Obi-Wan’s master she could not and decided to tell you when knighted Obi-Wan was. When died suddenly she did saw no benefit in breaking the resolution that she made. Then Obi-Wan disappeared and took on the training of Anakin you did; once again the time was not right.”

“I see, but what about later when the Jedi were being hunted down. Why didn’t you tell me then? If I’d known about Quoia I could have protected her from the empire.” Qui-Gon stated.

“Protect her you say! Protect our own in the temple on Coruscant we could not. Died they all did and many on Almas died too. Send you there to certain death I could not risk doing.” Yoda snapped.

“The force has given you a gift Qui-Gon, found the one left behind by Master Tahl you have; bring you joy she will, be happy you should.” Yoda smiled and ended the connection.

Qui-Gon sat down next to Obi-Wan staring at the space where Yoda’s holo-image had been, deep in thought and Obi-Wan decided to speak.

“Master Yoda makes sense Master, and from what I know since speaking with Tasha, your daughter Quoia would have made you proud and she made sure that Tasha was kept safe.”

“Yes I can understand the circumstances surrounding Yoda’s decisions, but I’m disappointed that Tahl never told me.”

“She was protecting you Master, as you told me when I fell in love with Siri it was against the code and if we’d made our attachment public that would have been the end of our service to the Jedi order. Master Tahl didn’t want that to happen to you either.”

“Yes I know your right Obi-Wan and I was worried that you and Siri would make the wrong choices. It must have been difficult for Tahl to keep that to herself and now I’m glad she had Yoda to confide in. She was a wonderful woman and I’m sure she was a wonderful mother as much as she could be. Now I am blessed to have a part of Tahl here with me. What about Tasha. What does she say about all this?”

“Tasha is excited to know that she has living family, but she’s anxious in case you don’t want to see her.”

“Of course I want to see her; she’s my blood. She’s a part of the woman I loved. Where is she now?”

Obi-Wan felt a slight sting of envy rise, but quickly squashed it. “Garen took her to get settled in her quarters; she’s probably pacing the floor too.”

Ohhhh, Qui-Gon better not go all ga-ga over his new family member and neglect Obi-Wan for his new "fancy." But then, he tends to do just that and it doesn't mean he doesn't care for Obi-Wan; it just means he's stricken by something new.

Awwwww, so sad Tahl didn't tell him :( This can bring them all together in ways, or perhaps create new drifts, hmmm. Very interesting! Can't wait to see more with Obi and Tasha.

    Love it!

serendipity. Thank you for continuing to read this I appreciate your reviews and kind words. These next two chapters will end this.

Thank you everyone for reading and reviewing this story. This is the ending in this epic story, 135,016 words and 331 pages I’m sure it is the longest one I’ve written and although I had intentions of writing more I found that I have lost my muse on this one and decided to end it with a presumption of a future in store for the Jedi order. So with all faults if any here is the last two chapters. It was going to be one but it wouldn't post, so I split it.

Qui-Gon stepped along the corridor with Obi-Wan at his side, so many thoughts were racing through his mind about Tahl, his daughter and his granddaughter that he didn’t sense the discomfort in Obi-Wan’s aura. He was holding the journal and flipping through the pages as they walked, but he stopped when Obi-Wan put his arm on Qui-Gon’s shoulder. “Master, this is Tasha’s room.”

“Thank you Obi-Wan, are you coming in?”

“I believe you and Tasha should have some time alone, I have a few things to do; I’ll see you later.”

Qui-Gon knocked and a few moments later the door opened. He sensed Tasha’s nervousness and he smiled at her. “Hello Tasha.”

    “Hello, I-er –come in.”

Qui-Gon entered and his first glance at Tasha, did remind him of Tahl, not so much her facial features, but her stance and her physical bearing. She was a confident young woman, but she had strength about her.

He wasn’t sure where to begin, but she had already made a cup of caff and she handed to him. “Thank you.” He said smiling.

    “I’m sorry.” She said.

Qui-Gon raised his eyebrows. “Sorry for what?”

“When I first came to Yavin 4 I was rather bad-mannered and I remember that Obi-Wan wanted me to meet you, but I refused.”

“Oh I see, well I’m sure you had your reasons.”

“So where do we begin?” Tasha asked.

Qui-Gon put her journal on the table and opened it, “I suppose we could begin by reading this together and we can ask each other questions.”

The rest of the day was spent re-counting their lives through Quoia’s journal and Qui-Gon filling in the blanks about what sort of person Tahl was and how they were friends and more as the years rolled on. Qui-Gon told Tasha of their youth and growing up in the Jedi temple, how they were in the same clan as initiates and continued their friendship throughout their lifetimes.

    ooo

Obi-Wan hurried away from Qui-Gon’s quarters he felt like he was intruding on Qui-Gon’s personal space now and he wandered aimlessly through the newly renovated garden trying to come to terms with the spike of envy that had risen before.

It was a strange emotion that he was feeling and he hoped that meditation would settle whatever was causing it.

After unsuccessfully meditating and realising that he couldn’t find the calm he was searching for he decided that he was hungry and headed to the refectory. Garen was already eating and waved him over to join him.

“Well Obi-Wan what happened? Did Qui-Gon know about his daughter?”

“No Garen, he was genuinely surprised and it was a bit of a shock I think. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Qui-Gon at a loss for words as he was.”

“Do you think he’ll accept her as his grandchild?”

“Yoda confirmed that Master Tahl did have a daughter and I felt his joy at knowing that Tahl was still with him through Tasha.”

    “Where is he now?”

“He took the journal to Tasha’s apartment and they are getting to know each other.”

“Have you been with them? How did they react to each other?’

Obi-Wan felt that envious emotion rise again and he tamped it down. “No I thought it prudent to give them space to get to know each other. I’ve been in the gardens meditating.”

Garen gave Obi-Wan a long steady look and sensed a slight upheaval in his friends aura. “What’s wrong Obi-Wan you seem to be troubled.”

Obi-Wan tightened his shields; he didn’t want Garen to sense his weird emotions. “I’m fine Garen, just tired I suppose, I think I’ll turn in early tonight.”

    Ooo

The next morning Obi-Wan went to find Luke and spar with him, but by the time he found Luke he was already giving lessons to his sister Leia and didn’t want to intrude when he saw how happy they were with each others company.

Han, Lando and Chewie had left the temple to pick up supplies and bring more force sensitive beings to Yavin.

Obi-Wan was feeling alone, but he knew that Garen was teaching the younglings so he decided to help him.

“Obi-Wan, what brings you here to the crèche? I thought you would be training some of the older ones?”

“I was, but some of the young pilots were heading off to help round up imperial resistance on an outpost in the mid rim. They received their orders from Chancellor Mon Mothma yesterday and they won’t be back for several weeks so I thought that I would help you for awhile.”

“Great Obi-Wan, you can help me stop these little ones from wrecking the training aids; they’ve found out that the force can move objects and they are testing me.”

Obi-Wan ducked as a small cube sailed past his head. He turned to see a little boy grinning at him. “What is your name youngling?” He asked as he towered over him with his hands on his hips.

    “Logan sir.”

“Well Logan, do you know why we don’t throw things at other Jedi?”

Logan glanced around at the other children who were poking their tongues at him. “Because its wrong, and Jedi don’t hurt each other.”

“That’s right Logan, and I didn’t throw anything at you did I, so why did you throw it at me?”

Logan shrugged and tears made his eyes glisten. “I wanted to use the force to move it, but I don’t know how. So I threw it I didn’t mean for it to nearly hit you, I’m sorry.”

Obi-Wan realised his stance was intimidating and he remembered when he was a young apprentice Qui-Gon used to do that to him, so he quickly went down on his knees in front of the boy.

“I accept your apology young Logan and perhaps you would allow me to teach you how to use the Force?”

Logan’s brown eyes lit up with excitement. “Can you show me now?”

Obi-Wan smiled and ruffled the boy’s hair. “Of course I will.”

The brief interlude spent with the younglings, teaching them to clear their minds to let the Force flow unhindered Logan had mastered the lifting of a small block and holding it in mid-air for a whole minute before his mind wandered to other things and the block fell to the floor had the desired effect in keeping Obi-Wan’s thoughts away from Tasha and Qui-Gon, but it wasn’t long before all the children were either picked up by their parents and taken back to their homes in the newly constructed settlement or as with Logan and a few of the others they were accommodated in the temple grounds with their own Force sensitive parents. Only three younglings were orphans and were looked after by Garen and two new recruits that were older Jedi, who had come out of hiding and came to rejoin the Jedi.

Although Garen remained his good friend, he was an older Jedi now and Obi-Wan felt their paths were drifting apart. He heard Garen chattering to the two Jedi who were Garens age as they left Obi-Wan and headed down the corridor talking about the crèche.

A pang of loss filled Obi-Wan and without missions or a sense of direction his life didn’t have the same meaning as it did when he was an apprentice.

He was a knight now, but what did that really mean, they weren’t guardians of peace anymore and until the order re-established itself, the new republic were avoiding calling on the Jedi to resolve conflicts and with many Force sensitive pilots in the republic forces they seemed capable of handling any problems that occurred.

The galaxy had changed and they no longer relied on the Jedi order to handle every crisis.

    Ooo

Qui-Gon found himself on a mission, not your typical off planet mission, but one to find one errant knight. Both he and Tasha were confused at his absence in their lives. It had been several days since they’d seen him and no matter where they looked, they would miss him by minutes. Luke said he saw him the day before and he was on his way to see Garen.

Nevertheless, Garen hadn’t seen him since their interaction with the younglings and Qui-Gon was beginning to worry that there was something wrong and he hoped it wasn’t something that he had inadvertently done.

Tasha was waiting for Qui-Gon’s return and when he entered the quarters she sensed his dismay. “You didn’t find him did you?

“No, and I for some reason he has erected strong shields around his thoughts.

Qui-Gon could feel the hurt feelings radiating off his granddaughter; she was very fond of Obi-Wan and she didn’t understand why he was avoiding her.

“Have I done something to upset him?” she asked.

“Tasha you know how complicated Obi-Wan can be and sometimes I don’t even know what is going on in his mind. He keeps his problems bottled up inside and unless I make him open up he will stew on what is troubling him. It’s time that I make a concerted effort to find him.”

A knock at the door gave Tasha hope. “That might be him!” she said rushing to open the door. Her disappointment rose when a young pilot nodded and handed her a note.

Qui-Gon peered at the note over Tasha’s shoulder, “Its Obi-Wan’s hand writing.”

“He’s gone to Endor to see master Yoda.” She said. “Why didn’t he tell us, what is wrong with him? Oh he makes me so angry!” she snapped.

    ooo

Obi-Wan settled the craft down in a clearing near the destroyed shield generator site and climbed down to the leafy green covered ground below. He’d opened up to the force to let Master Yoda know he had arrived and as soon as his feet touched the ground he felt the familiar signature of the old master close by. It wasn’t long before Yoda made his way to the clearing. Obi-Wan dropped to his knee in respect to the Grand master and bowed his head. “It is a very welcome sight to my eyes to see you, Master Yoda.”

“Eating you have been since saw you last, looking healthy too you do.”

“Yes Master, we have some fine cooks at the temple on Yavin 4 and I find that there isn’t a great deal to do, but eat.”

“Always training to fill the time, no time to get fat and lazy there is! What would your master say if chubby you became.”

Obi-Wan sighed and rose to his feet. “Perhaps he wouldn’t notice.”

Yoda felt the slight disturbance in Obi-Wan’s signature, it was the familiar flame of insecurity that followed Obi-Wan in his youth and now it was present again. “Come here to seek counsel you have, ummm?”

    “Yes Master.”

“Carry me through this thick undergrowth you should, too old to trudge through this on my own. Show you a place where meditate we can; speak of what is troubling you we will.”

Obi-Wan jogged through the thick jungle at Yoda’s request and he wondered as Yoda clung to his shoulders, whether the old master was making him jog on purpose because he had gained a few pounds. He knew he hadn’t gained that much, but breathing in the fresh air and the amazing aroma’s of the jungle undergrowth did clear his mind and made him feel alive and aware of this beautiful planet.

A small lake came into view and Obi-Wan used the Force to leap from the bank to the large roots of a Cambylictus tree. The tree could only grow in water and the roots spread out majestically to hold the tall tree in place. Lowering Master Yoda to a wide root, Obi-Wan sat down next to him and gazed out across the lake where several more cambylictus trees stretched their wing like branches up toward the blue sky.

Abruptly he felt wise eyes on him and he turned to find Yoda’s intent eyes searching his aura. “Calming place this is, empty your mind of all that ails you Obi-Wan; find your inner peace and purge the negative emotions I sense in you.”

“Master, I shouldn’t have any negative emotions, the galaxy is rebuilding, the Jedi order has been given the chance to reform, Yavin 4 is becoming a sanctuary for Force sensitive beings and industry is growing all over the planet.”

    “Industry you say?”

“Yes Master, families of Force sensitive younglings have moved into settlements to be close to the temple and they are bringing their trades with them. Farming is popular in the flat lands and other commercial interests are making Yavin 4 a viable trade industry. I have a new pair of boots from a local leather manufacturer and he supplies the farmers with harness and belts, several clothing shops have opened and some of the Jedi pilots are teaching mechanics. I’m certain that eventually Yavin 4 will be a thriving industrious planet.”

“I see what about the younglings how many is there?”

“Not many yet, but more are being recognised every day. Most of them live with their parents and attend training and lessons during the day and return home in the evening.” Obi-Wan let a sad sigh leave his lips.

Yoda felt Obi-Wan’s uncertainty about the new method of training. “Strange these ways seem to you young one?”

“Yes Master, I am trying to live in this modern society, but I find that I recollect my early training and how important it was to be a Jedi. These days are so different and everyone except me has moved into this new era easily.”

“You must unlearn what you have learned, gone is that time and place.”

    “Yes Master.” Obi-Wan said solemnly.

Yoda sensed Obi-Wan’s depression in the Force, he felt alone. “Not alone are you young one. Qui-Gon cares for you he does and show you how to live in this galaxy, he will.”

“He has Tasha, his granddaughter, he loves her. He has missed so much not being around her and not knowing his daughter. Tasha has a gift to give him, he doesn’t need me.”

“Need you they both do, Obi-Wan. Love has found a place in the Jedi and there is room in Qui-Gon’s heart to love you both.”

Obi-Wan shook his head. “I see it all around me, Luke and Leia, Han and even Garen has found his calling; teaching the children. But it’s is hard for me to let go of my upbringing and forget everything I was taught about attachment leading to jealousy, and hate and anger.”

“Yes, yes me it was that taught it to you, but known to be wrong once or twice I have.”

Obi-Wan closed his eyes and thought back to that feeling he had when he saw Tasha and Qui-Gon together. “I felt one of those emotions recently Master, and it made me feel sad and unworthy, and I am ashamed because I should be happy that they have found each other.”

    “So run away you have?”

Obi-Wan felt his shame heighten at Yoda’s words, for he knew they were correct. “What else can I do, I will not dishonour my Master or the Jedi principals; if jealousy is growing inside me.”

“Worthy you are Obi-Wan, but confused you seem, speak to Qui-Gon you should.”

Yes I am confused, I know that the galaxy has changed and I see the changes in Luke and Leia and their love for each other and Han’s love for Leia. Love does have a place in this future and I know that even when Anakin fell in love with Padmè eventually it was because of that love that defeat came to sith. Nevertheless, Tasha is Qui-Gon’s granddaughter and I am just his apprentice. He would want the best for his granddaughter. I could not intrude in their life.”

“Like a son to Qui-Gon you are, if want the best for Tasha he does then look past you he will not.”

“Strange it is to hear such words from you Master!”

“Yes, yes, told you I did that changed we have, come with you I will, enough of peace and quiet with the ewoks I have, spend my last days with family I should.”

    Part 2
Once again thanks for reading. This is the end.

Qui-Gon was waiting at the hanger when Obi-Wan’s ship landed, and Yoda was the first to hobble down the ramp leaving Obi-Wan to turn everything off in the cockpit and hand the ship over to the mechanics for a service.

“Master Yoda, it is good to see you. I wasn’t expecting you to return to Yavin, is there anything wrong?” Qui-Gon asked.

“No, kept Obi-Wan company I did, too quiet on Endor it is. Miss I do the sound of younglings, speak to Master Muln I will, help him is my duty while I still can.”

Qui-Gon smiled, and bowed to the old master who was looking every bit his age, but there was still a sparkle in his eyes and he sensed that Yoda was happy to be back.

“I’m sure Garen will be delighted at your return as I am.” He said as he called an engineer over and arranged for a hover chair for the old master.

Qui-Gon stretched out and felt the bright presence of his Obi-Wan, he knew that Tasha would be very happy that he’d returned and he was too.

“Hello Obi-Wan.” He said as the young man strode down the ramp, looking as though he had the weight of the galaxy on his shoulders.

“Hello Master are you well? Is everything alright?”

“Now that’s a question I was going to ask you?”

“Me? I’m fine Master.” He said hesitantly.

“You’re not ‘fine’ and I believe you have purposely been avoiding us. Both Tasha and I were concerned that we might have said something to offend you.”

“No Master, you haven’t offended me! Whatever gave you that impression?”

“You did, you haven’t been an easy person to find lately, and then you abruptly left for Endor.”

Obi-Wan felt flustered because he had been avoiding Qui-Gon and he knew that his master would want to know why.

“I didn’t mean too, but I thought you would want to spend time with your granddaughter.” He said quietly.

“Yes, I did and it was wonderful getting to know her and discovering that she was a part of Tahl; however, I wanted to share this news with you Obi-Wan. Tahl was important to me, but she was also your friend too.”

“Master Tahl was a kind and generous woman and I thought very highly of her. Nevertheless, I am not a blood relative and I didn’t want to intrude in your lives.”

“Come with me Padawan.” Qui-gon said in his teaching mode which brooked no argument and led the way out of the hanger to the newly created water garden.

Qui-Gon sat on a beautifully carved wooden bench overlooking a small pond and waterfall.

    “Come-on Padawan sit!”

Obi-Wan smiled tentatively and nodded his assent as he sat down and pulled his robe up over his knees. “You haven’t called me that for awhile now Master.”

“Well if you’re going to keep calling me Master even though you are a knight I believe it gives me the right to continue to call you Padawan.”

Obi-Wan sighed. “I am a knight, but what does that mean now? There are no missions as such like when we were called by the republic nearly everyday to solve some problem or negotiate a peace on some world. The war is over and the new republic is taking their responsibilities and working through them without the Jedi. We are re-building, but I have no direction. I don’t know where I fit in.”

“Ah yes, you would have been a fine negotiator, and warrior, but those days are behind us for the time being. Now is a time for new beginnings and I can assure you Obi-Wan that you have never been an intrusion in my life and you may not be of my blood, but you fit in more than you realise.”

Obi-Wan gazed into Qui-Gon’s eyes and could see the truth in them. “You’ve changed Master, you seem…”

    “More human?”

Obi-Wan smiled. “No, I was going to say comfortable in this new age.”

Qui-Gon leant back against the bench. “I am comfortable and it is mainly due to finding you alive and just in case you don’t remember, it was you who rescued Tasha and brought her back into my life also.”

“How is Tasha?” Obi-Wan said tentatively.

“Worried about you, just like Tahl used to worry that I worked you too hard. She is very much like Tahl in so many ways, and she is quite determined when it comes to expecting to get her own way.”

“That sounds more like you Master and I have to agree that I’ve been on the wrong side of her disapproval as well as yours in my padawan days.”

Qui-Gon grinned. “Well perhaps we should help her out of her melancholy and allow her to vent her frustrations at you and then we should take her to dinner, because I am getting hungry.”

Obi-Wan glanced at Qui-Gon as they neared the apartment. “I think you’re enjoying this Master, but I have a bad felling about this.”

    ooo

“Obi-Wan,” She said as the door opened, and she stormed over and pulled him into the apartment wrapping her arms around his neck causing a faint blush rise to his cheeks. Qui-Gon felt her delight flow through the force, and then her happiness turned to a questioning glare.

“Obi-Wan Kenobi! Where have you been? She said as she put her hands on her hips.

Qui-Gon could see the similarities between her stance and his own, but he wasn’t going to interrupt her admonishment of Obi-Wan, it was giving him some fun at Obi-Wan’s expense. He stepped around Tasha and held his smile behind a straight face.

    “Well?” she snapped.

“I went to see Master Yoda, I didn’t think you would miss me and I did send you a note.”

“A note! I thought you would at least come and tell us that you were leaving.”

“I didn’t want to intrude while you were getting to know your Grandfather, and I had other duties that kept me busy.

“Well we did miss you, and I wanted to share my journal with you too.”

“I am sorry, but I’m back now and Master Yoda came back with me and he wants to meet you.” Obi-Wan said rubbing his chin.

Tasha couldn’t stay angry at Obi-Wan, but she noticed the stubble on his face. “You look scruffy! You look like a nerf herder what’s that on your chin?”

Obi-Wan knew she was talking about the beard he was growing. “It’s a beard, what’s wrong with it?”

    “It makes you look scruffy.”

“Scruffy!” Obi-Wan glanced sideways. “Qui-Gon has one!”

“That’s different it makes him look distinguished.” She said grinning.

“Well I like it!” Obi-Wan said folding his arms over his chest.

“Grandfather! What do you think, is it not scruffy looking?”

“Ah Tasha, don’t put me in the middle, I’m sure Obi-Wan can make his own decisions about his scruffiness without my interference.”

    “Master!”

    000

Qui-Gon and Yoda were watching a spar between Tasha and Celina; it was Celina’s first training session since having her baby. As they expected Celina’s little girl was force sensitive and was living at the temple with Celina, and Tyrone, her father, who was an experienced pilot and aspiring Jedi.

“What do you see Master Yoda?”

“See I do that your granddaughter, a long way has come in just a few weeks. Her style is very similar to Obi-Wan’s, Training her is he?”

“Yes, but she’s very obstinate and when he demonstrates a move for her to learn she adds her own creative approach to it and usually they end up disagreeing.”

“Ah, used to that he should be! His own Master creative he was.”

“What do you mean ‘was’ I might be old, but I’m not dead yet!” He smiled.

“A handful your Tasha will be for our Obi-Wan, tests his patience she does. Very much like her Grandfather she is, but learn to be patient with you he did through my guidance.”

“Obi-Wan didn’t tell me that he sought out your advice?”

“Intimidating you were to a young padawan who knew when you were being obstinate; gave him counsel I did.”

Qui-Gon laughed, “It is good to be alive to give advice when it’s needed.”

“Agree, happy I am that returned to Yavin 4 I did, know not how long before return to the Force I do, but feel young again being around so many younglings.”

“The new Jedi order is becoming a reality and with Obi-Wan and Luke leading them, we are assured of a future and with Leia and Han planning to marry soon and have children we will have more younglings to watch grow for as long as we can.”

“So different this order will be; turn over in the Force would Master Windu, knowing that love and attachment have found a place in the future.”

    Ooo

The sounds of Laughter filled the air as Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon strolled through the garden heading toward the newly constructed swimming pond. Summer on Yavin 4 was quite warm and the trainees took every chance they had to cool off.

“Obi-Wan look over there, Tasha is swimming with Celina and a few of the pilots. I didn’t know that they had returned from their mission?”

“Some of the pilots arrived this morning while I was sparring with Tasha, and when she saw them she decided that sparring wasn’t as much fun as swimming when they asked her to join them!”

Qui-Gon could sense the hurt in his voice, he knew that Obi-Wan liked Tasha very much, but his upbringing prevented him from releasing his inhibitions and doing something about it. “Why don’t you join them?”

Obi-Wan glanced at Qui-Gon, who motioned to the pond by nodding his head.

“I don’t have any swim wear.”

“You have under shorts on don’t you? Some of the men are in their shorts.”

They walked closer and Qui-Gon sensed that Obi-Wan was considering doing it.

“It is hot and she does look like she’s having fun, I suppose I could join them.”

He began undoing his belt, when he saw Tasha wave and then she swam up to one of the pilots and splashed him. He spun around and she threw her arms around his neck and kissed him. The pilot laughed and then he kissed her.

A flurry of unwelcome emotions spread through Obi-Wan and he clipped his belt up and turned to Qui-Gon. “I don’t believe I will join them, I don’t want to intrude.”

Qui-Gon sighed as he watched Obi-Wan begin to walk away from the pond. He knew that Tasha was teasing him, but what Tasha didn’t understand was that Obi-Wan was new to this type of coaxing and if she kept it up Obi-Wan would continue to keep his distance.

    Ooo

“Qui-Gon, where did Obi-Wan go, I thought he was going to join me in the water?”

“He was Tasha, but he changed his mind when he saw you kissing Benjin and he didn’t want to intrude.”

    “What because I kissed him?”

“Yes and might I ask why you decided to kiss him right then?”

“I was just being playful and showing Obi-Wan what he was missing. We were just fooling around.”

I’m not sure that your actions will entice Obi-Wan away from what he perceives as his calling as a Jedi without attachment. If you want him to notice you, and be comfortable around you, go slow with him.”

“How slow! When I try to get close to him he balks and pulls back. ‘Men, they can be so annoying!

“Tasha, you must understand that Obi-Wan is a product of the old republic, and in that time loving another and forming an attachment was forbidden. He loved another student, but they decided to dedicate their lives as Jedi. It was hard on them both, and he still remembers what happened and although he wouldn’t admit it, he’s afraid of forming an attachment with you.”

“Yes I can see his problem, but that was then this is now.”

“That’s right so give him time.”

“You care for him deeply don’t you Grandfather?”

“Yes he is much more than my padawan and we did connect from the moment I took him. He helped me when Tahl died and even though I pushed him away, he didn’t leave me and I know I hurt him when I did that, but I think it made our bond stronger once he made me see that Tahl wouldn’t want me to give up.”

“Obi-Wan did tell me that my Grandmother was very kind to him.”

“I think she loved him from the minute she saw him. She was the one who helped me decide to take Obi-Wan as my padawan, but I pushed him hard in the early days because I thought his compassion would be the death of him. However, Tahl told me that Obi-Wan was a tower of strength and he would know when and where to allow his compassion to guide him.”

Tasha smiled. “He is lovable, and I intend to make him see that I can be too.”

    Ooo

A few days later Qui-Gon saw Obi-Wan meditating in the garden and he approached him.

“Hello Obi-Wan, I didn’t expect to see you looking so peaceful. Don’t you have any trainees to teach?”

“No Master, I’ve given them a break, after all we do need time for reflection sometimes Master. Besides I gave them individual tasks to complete for tomorrow. I’m sure they will be busy for the rest of the day.”

“What about Luke and Leia what are they up to today?”

“Han and Leia have gone to the city and Luke went to see a girl named Mara, I think he likes her.”

“Why don’t you spend the day with Tasha, she been looking for you and she thinks you are avoiding her.”

“I’m not avoiding her I’ve been busy.”

“I thought you said you liked Tasha?”

Obi-Wan felt his face flush, “I do like her master, but she has other friends and she appears to enjoy their company. I’m a Jedi. That is enough for me.”

“There you are I’ve been looking for you Obi-Wan,” Tasha smiled and put down the basket she was carrying and nodded to Qui-Gon.

“Hello Grandfather I was wondering if Obi-Wan was free for the rest of the day?”

Qui-Gon smiled, he knew that Obi-Wan was finding it difficult to commit to a relationship with Tasha and he had agreed with his granddaughter when she came up with this plan. “Actually I was asking Obi-Wan if he had plans today, and he doesn’t!”

“Master! I didn’t say that I had nothing to do.” Obi-Wan blurted out, sensing that Qui-Gon wanted him to go with Tasha.

“Please Obi-Wan, it’s a glorious day and Qui-Gon showed me a wonderful pond with a waterfall in the forest, I would like to go there with you. We could… go for a swim.”

“I think you should go with Tasha, you know how she finds trouble. I would feel much better about my granddaughter going out in the forest if you went with her.”

“I find trouble, huh! Who was it that had to save Obi-Wan when he crashed the shuttle and who had to nurse him back to health; it was me.

“You make it sound like I can’t take care of myself.” Obi-Wan said indignantly.

“I think you’re afraid to come with me. I think you’re afraid to have a good time.”

“I’m not afraid to go on a picnic, if that’s your intention?”

“I would like too, if you will take me and I thought we might go for a swim.”

Obi-Wan looked to his master for help, but Qui-Gon wasn’t going to help him squirm out of having fun.

‘I don’t have and swim wear.”

“Don’t worry your pretty head about it. I’m sure we can find something you can wear, but if not it’s not as though I haven’t seen you practically naked before.”

Obi-Wan had the feeling he was outnumbered and now he had an audience, Yoda had come to stand next to Qui-Gon and Garen came out to see what was going on.

‘Oh alright Tasha I’ll come with you, but I’m not going swimming.”

“Great, here you go, my gallant knight. You can carry the basket.” She handed him the basket and put her hand over Obi-Wan’s and she could sense his body reacting to her touch. She looked back over her shoulder at the three Jedi on the porch and she winked.

As they disappeared into the woods Qui-Gon smiled, and said “I think a happier Obi-Wan will return.”

“Hard it has been for him to change his ways, but a wonderful girl Tasha is and teach him how to enjoy life she will. See many force sensitive children in their future I do.” Yoda said taping his cane on the floor.

“That’s just great, but what about me? Leia and Han are planning a family, Luke has found a girl friend and now Obi-Wan is being seduced by Tasha.”

Garen said slapping his forehead. “How long do you think it will be before I have to make the crèche bigger, what with all the children coming into the galaxy over the next year or so. I’ll be run off my feet chasing their younglings around.”

“Good it will be to welcome more younglings into the new Jedi order it will be. Thought I did that see this day I would not.”

“The Force is with us always.”

Loved this...very lovely ending, but doggone it, I was wanting Tashe to pin Obi-Wan against a tree and kiss him!! You know, a moment when he wanted to kiss her but was hesitating, so she took the initiative... something like that.

Loved Qui-Gon and Tahl being her grandparents.

Great story, Geri. Maybe someday some of the details you decided to leave out could be posted as short stories...like Obi and Tasha's wedding? :D

Actually, you are so very close. I had envisioned Tasha having to entice Obi into the water and then she splashes him and while his eyes are closed "the big kiss"
then on the blanket after picnicking, another embrace and a bit of banter and then somewhere along the way before they go back to the temple, he lets his inhabitations fly out the window and he releases his pent up emotions and ooh- la- la. :D[face_love]

You mean you left out the best part??? :_|

Oh please, you must write that...at least!! I would love to see Obi-Wan let his inhibitions fly out the window and release his pent up emotion...ooh-la-la indeed!! [face_love]

Loved seeing Obi start to work through his emotions here, I know it would be so difficult but he's up for the challenge! And it was lovely getting to see Qui and Yoda help, and the whole way in which they all so obviously care for him, Tasha included. Just lovely! :D How, how I want more!!! Oh please, some day!! I love the idea about her coaxing him to the water and then getting her kiss [face_love] And Obi letting his inhibitions fly? Yes! He has to and deserves to release whatever's pent up every now and again [face_love][face_love] They need to get to work on filling that creche!

Lovely, lovely! Please tag or message me whenever you post more!

Oh, lovely...yes, it would be so difficult for Obi-Wan as he "woke up" in another time, rather than grew into it as did the others. Of course he's feeling "not quite belonging."

    I have just one complaint.

I join in the chorus for Obi-Wan's "letting go" and "going for it." Consider a few one-shots, kind of like missing scenes. Please? [face_praying]
