Time for a new banner... is it not??

We should start throwing out ideas for a new and improved banner

 

I personally like this one...but then again, my opinion is very biased!

 

Uh, I think this banner is fine. Actually very clever!

 

And to think, he doesn't even need to change the checkered flag shot...the car that one this year looks exactly the same as last year!

I think it is a great banner that defines one of the highlights of our city very well.

 

Since I'm sure Seb has banners just lying around his computer.........

The easiest thing to do would be to throw in a Brickyard pic and tweek it a little. Then of course have an F1 shot ready for after that.

 

well, what i meant was since the race is over we should get a new "themed"* banner

 

Well, I did say this one would be up until the end of the month...

I entered a minimalistic ATOC banner in the current contest...was thinking about tweaking it a tad and using it for here, and even though it's about what I had envisioned it to be, it isn't something I liked as well as I thought. Anyhow, ideas are always welcomed...I'm going to tweak out a few other ideas I have and see how they turn out.

 

Perhaps, since the summer cook-out season has begun, something featuring Uncle Oven and Aunt Barbecue, er... Beru?

Or...just a thought...Bonnie and Natalie out sunbathing together on a Tatooine-ish looking beach?

I like the minimalist look, though, it isn't all junky like a lot of the other banners.

Ok I must be imagining things because for some reason all I see is the Indy Knights basic banner and not the 500 one that was supposedly up. Hrmm that's odd.

Actually, I was just trying to go with a mostly OT feel, and this is one of my favorite pictures from anything SW, ROTJ Matte Painting, but I came across this version of it that had a bit more color, then I just went from there. Added more color and more Jedi/Sith balance in the background image, going with my failed AOTC banner attempt.....probably blabbered more about this than anyone cares...when you spend the better part of your day looking for a single stupid pic for the reply image, you tend to want to exhale profusely....settled with AOTC Anakin on Vader's bridge, which is the connection GL was going for anyway.

Yeah, I tend to make the background images extra long to give large resolution screens a little visual easter egg.

This thread displays a little differently for me than the rest of the threads on our board. It scrolls horizontally. No big deal - just wanted to chime in with feedback. BTW, I'm at 1024x768.

 

Well, I'm very fond of the new banner. The racing banner was nifty too, of course, but I'm always excited if that Vader funeral pyre can work its way into something. That's one of my favorite scenes, image and music-wise.

In one of my previous posts, with the pictures, there was an image that didn't feel like linking properly, hence giving you one lone line of text with no carrage return, making the sideways scrolling...I got rid of that, so this thread should appear like normal.
