He is out of surgery, it went well. They will keep an eye out for infection and I should have an update tomorrow.

What a Relief Jeff! That sounds like a complicated ordeal for your Dad but I'm glad to hear he got thru it.

 

Thanks guys. They will keep him sedated foe the next day or so due to pain.
My sister told me that this wont help the damage that has already been done from the diabetes, kidney damage or improve the overall pain level and quality of life. But if it keeps him from being a paraplegic, its worth it. We kind of have to look at his health in the grand scheme with his illnesses.

We need some good thoughts sent out for Shane's family. They have gotten a lot of bad news lately. His Grandpa is in congestive heart failure and has to be placed in an assisted living home. And his uncle was recently diagnosed with MS.

wasn't sure if I was gong to post anything yet or not but here we go. Dad left the hospital today and will not be continuing his dialysis treatments. He has a staff infection in his blood and pneumonia. He cant walk or feel his hands or legs. The doctors give him 4-12 days from his last treatment which was yesterday. He met with a psychiatrist, social worker and hospis today. The plan from here on is to make him as comfortable as possible.
I will post updates when there is something to update.
