They say it burst about a week ago. They're going to drain off her stomach for the next couple of days and then take out what's left of the appendix. I went by to visit her today, that girl's a terror in a hospital! She had a little snit over the nurse, it almost looked like there was going to be some kind of power struggle or something!

Thanks for the good thoughts guys. I told my sister and she really appreciates it :)

You can survive with the wonderful world of antibiotics. They pumped her full of about 8 different types.

She came home yesterday and has bee parked on the couch ever since. We get to take her for walks starting tomorrow.

Thanks for the good thoughts guys, she's doing much better :)

I'd appreciate any happy thoughts that can be spared. My grandma has vascular dementia and she's going down hill fast. I just got a call from my mom that she's flying out next week because it's getting that bad. I don't think they expect her to last through the summer. My grandma even went into the emergency room last night (not sure what for, haven't tried to get a hold of anyone yet) but according to my mom, who heard from her sister, she's doing better today. My grandma is in her 80's, but this has been hard to see a woman who raised 6 kids and has 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren turn into a shell of what she was. [face_worried]

You and your family are in my heart and prayers sweetie. I remember watching my godfather deteriorate and pass and it was one of the hardest things I have ever done.

    **hugs**

    Thanks [:D]

I found out that my grandma fell on top of her homecare nurse, and my grandpa couldn't get her back up, so they called the paramedics. The paramedics asked if she wanted to go to the hospital and she said "yes" so they took her. Fortunately they couldn't find anything wrong with her and she's home again.

This did serve as a wake up call that I need to visit them more, especially since they just live about 20 minutes away.... it's very easy to get involved in the everyday minutia and suddenly your life has passed you by.

FYI... Sarnia is back at the hospital today. :( I'm waiting to hear back from Will now, about what's going on. So, think some of those happy thoughts her way, please. :)

My sister had to go to the ER last night (and they didn't tell me!)

She apparently has some fluid build up, when it shouldn't be, and it's from the surgery she had back in January. She's in a ton of pain, but at least she's got drugs. Her main Dr. is out until NEXT Tuesday -but at least I think I got her talked into calling the Dr's office again and seeing if a back-up Dr is available.

If you could take a few moments to think about my sister-in-law, I would greatly appreciate it. She was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer, and after an exploratory procedure yesterday, it was determined that will have to undergo a full hysterectomy on July 7th. There were some complications yesterday, so they were unable to perform the surgery then. Any happy thoughts you can spare as she recovers from this procedure and prepares for the next step would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

My sister ended up going in for emergency surgery today. :(

Yeah - the fluid build up? That's apparently very very bad! At least she got in to see the back-up Dr at like 10:30am, the poked around a bit, and said don't eat anything and be back there by 1pm so they could do surgery today! Eep! She's feeling ok, but kinda disheartened. They are jumping thru a ton of hoops trying to get pregnant, and nothing is working. :(

I just wish there was more I could do for her. She's been able to help me out when I'm in trouble... but for this -there really is nothing I can do, and it makes me sad. Me and Jim are going over there tomorrow after work to take her some flowers and visit with her for a while. :)
