Timetales Web Design

As some of you may be aware - the online version of Timetales is not up to date when compared to the downloadable .doc file.

Chris and I 'hired' Nathan Blumenfeld, AKA Mastadge to take care of the online site, graphics, keep content up to date, etc... also, as you all may be aware, Mastadge has gone AWOL from cyberspace since the start of the year - we just can't get in contact with him.

I believe that our site needs an overhaul to make it more professional... is anyone in here willing to help out. If so, can you please provide links to some existing web design that you have done.

 

I always provide a link to my site in my signature. However, I wouldn't be a good choice. If you look at my site, you'll see it hasn't been upadted in over a month. And usually updates are merely changes in the weekly poll. If I were doing more with my site, I might volunteer for the chance to help. Since I'm not, not a good idea to go with me. But please, feel free to take a look at the site if you like. Can always use some more folks checking it out.

Your sites look really good, nice and clean, etc...

However, I am after something that would be graphically intense, ala TFN's main page - could you handle that?

Also, I would require someone that could devote a lot of time to the project...

I want it looking as professional as possible.

 

Maybe I'd give it a try if I wasn't under contract and if I had more time...

And... It's Timetales... It just feels... HUGE !

If by "graphically intense" you are referring to things like the Latest News and Top Stories graphics on the TFN main page, then yeah, I can do stuff like that.

Also, if there's any way to be more specific on "a lot of time," that'd be helpful. School does keep me busy, but I don't have a job so I do have time, as evidenced by the fact that I'm here at the JC quite a bit these days!

And how big an overhaul are you thinking, anyway?

 

I'm not the best when it comes to graphics, but I can code anything (and I'm just finishing up learning asp!)

See, I've hand-coded everything for a long time, but my pages are still pretty basic - I have bunches of tables, some javascript, a little bit of CSS, and some graphics. Maybe some design software makes that stuff easier, but since I've just hand-coded I haven't ever really gotten into the details of some of those design aspects - just enough to get certain elements to work on my sites. Looking at the code for Timetales, there's a bunch of code that I don't know, or that I recognize but am not sure what it does. Depending on how much actual rewriting of code is necessary, there may be a bit much for me to do by hand, and the only WSIWYG software I have is Netscape Composer ('cause it came bundled in Communicator). I can Photoshop together some graphics, though. Here are a few examples:

Speaking of Mastadge, Gatherer, do we have any info on him at all. Could something terrible have happened to him? I kinda miss him.

For graphics, I recommend Amidala_Starkiller. She does a lot of the icons for the JC.

I wish I could help but my sorry excuse for a computer makes it hard to create any graphics. But if I find anyone right, I'll definitely tell you.

Sorry chiss_dude if I upset you by doing that. Just tends to be easier to post the link as a clickable, and more folks may be willing to check it out if all they can do is click. Gatherer would no doubt use the addresses you provided whether they are clickable or not since this concerns TimeTales.

Chissdude, when was the last time you visited or worked on your thread? The link won't go in. I copyed the addresses you posted and used the link mark-up code. But the thing says the link doesn't work. If you visit or work on it on a constant basis, then I have no clue what's wrong.
