Bant peered at her friend lying motionless on the floor; his agonized pleas no longer filling the air. There was no doubt that something was wrong with Obi-Wan, but she had no idea as to what it could be. He had begged her to go. She could not help but wander if he would be in this condition if she had gone. Something happened to Obi-Wan that he had no control over. All Bant knew for sure was that her best friend had been in sheer pain.

Hearing the door slide open, she looked up expecting to see the healers. Instead, the intimidating shadow of Qui-Gon Jinn stood over her and Obi-Wan. He spoke with calmness and feigned concern as he addressed Bant. ?I can handle things from here, Padawan. Thank you for helping Obi-Wan. I?m sure he will also thank you when he is feeling better.?

?But Master Jinn, Obi-Wan was in so much pain that he could barely speak and he has lost consciousness. The healers are on their way--don?t you think that maybe they should examine Obi??

Qui-Gon Jinn smiled at the concerned padawan. ?I assure you that Obi-Wan will be taken care of.? He walked over to the door and gestured to Bant, ?Allow me to show you out.?

Bant looked between her friend and the Jedi Master, trying to decide what she should do. Qui-Gon Jinn helped her make her decision. He came over to the young padawan and took her by the arm. Forcing her to stand up, he escorted her outside the door. ?Thank you again, Bant. I really appreciate your help.?

As the door closed, Qui-Gon made his way back over to his apprentice and knelt beside him. He withdrew from Obi-Wan?s mind, forcing his apprentice to come back into a painful reality. ?You never learn, do you Padawan? What must I do to you to make sure that you understand my position?? Qui-Gon kicked the boy in the side. ?Get up! Now!?

Obi-Wan?s head was reeling from the torture that had been inflicted upon his mind. He slowly attempted to sit up, but found that the familiar sensation of vertigo was ever present. ?I...I can?t,? he stammered.

As Qui-Gon drew back his hand to deliver a solid blow to the handsome young face, the door slid open allowing the healers access to the quarters. The master quickly covered his intention by placing his hand on Obi-Wan?s shoulder. The healers entered the room and began to make their way towards the obviously distressed padawan. Using his body as a barrier, he stepped in between the healers and his young charge. ?I do apologize for the inconvenience. We are not in need of your services. I think that the stress that my padawan has been under finally caught up with him.?

Not to be easily swayed, Healer Shea stepped forward to speak with the Jedi master. Healer Shea was known for his candor and abruptness. He was not one that was easily impressed or easily oppressed by others. ?Master Jinn, since we are already here, there is no harm in performing an examination just to make sure.?

?My apprentice is not very fond of healers. If I determine that he needs to see a healer, I will then bring him to the healer?s ward myself.? Qui-Gon?s stance took up a defensive posture, his hands planted firmly on his hips.

?A healer you are not. Examined he will be.? The soft tap of a gimer stick announced the presence of Master Yoda.

Qui-Gon sighed in frustration at the interference of the ancient master. ?Master Yoda, I assure you...?

?Your assurances I do not want. Stand aside you will and

 

I've come to the conclusion that Jedi are mostly idiots. Seriously, the Council's got it's suspicions about Qui-Gon and they just go off and leave no security to keep an eye on Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon until the morning's mind probe?

No wonder the Sith were able to pull things off.

Okay, that is kind of freaky. Imposter/Posessed Qui better not kill Obi off or erase his memory or anything. Why isn't Yoda taking more action in this? "Clouded the dark side is". maybe that's it...hm...ok, this whole thing has me boggled.

Don't get me wrong, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are my sweeties, but marone-a-mi, the Council's being thick as a whale omlette on this.

Yay! A post! I am soooooo happy my parents finally went to sleep so I could check if one was there. I'm pretty sure my dad would have a Bad-Gon like reaction if he caught me but oh well, I run fast. I will face a fate worse than death for this story! [face-smile]

Anyways people, look at it this way, if the council caught on right away, we wouldn't have very much of a story, eh? What happened to Obi though?!? Is there gonna be a happy ending?!? AAAAGGHHH the suspense is killing me! If you care about my health at all you'll post soon, JM2!!!

Unless you want more posts about Qui-Gon painted green and dancing for Yoda. I'm thinking tights would be necessary to really pull off the effect we're going for, how about you? hmmm...I wonder if he sings as well as his Padawan?

 

Hey while I'm on here, I'm gonna tell ya'll something completley pointless that has nothing to do with the story but I've wanted to tell someone for a while and you guys are the only ones who won't think I'm completly crazy. Only mostly crazy.

There's a kid in my Karate class who looks JUST LIKE OBI-WAN!!! Exactly like the cover of the JA books! And he's taller than me, which should be illegal since I'm 2 years older than him and its just not fair. Every time I see him I want to run over and beat the heck out of him with my bo-staff cuz the only thing I love as much as Obi-torture is Qui-angst. I'm an evil little Sith-spawn. One more question JM2, where can I find the Ultimate Betrayal?

Anyways, I'm done being stupid now, ya'll have a gooood night and don't let the Bad-Gons bite!

Wow...the Jedi can be so daft! Leaving Obi alone like that!!! Jedi DON'T GET IT!?!?! YODA!?! I am just...aghast at...sorry, but for crying out loud! But hey, I love your fic!
