Toller Legends

This is a small discussion forum for anything Tolkien. I've spent a good deal setting up skins, colors, and banners, and making this as unique as possible. It's got all the normal stuff, discussions of the book, movie, anything else etc.

But I have two things that I've made up myself, and my co-admin, MasterYogurt (TF.N name) and I are working hard to come up with new stuff to include in the forums.

The first is obviously the RPG, which like WOTS, the project that I had to abandon for odd reasons, will allow people to put themselves into the role of anybody in Middle-Earth. This RPG is not set up yet, and won't be for quite a while, but it should be good. For now, anyone can particpate in battles in the Bridge of Khazad-dum forum.

There is also the Marketplace, which is basically a reward shop for posting. You can win VIPship, colors, access to bonus forums, extra karma, boost in posts, etc.

It's a small forum, but hopefully it'll grow, perhaps with your support.

Help us make Tolkien Forums the best that it can be.

I'd change the background of this skin. Not only is the picture stretched, there's no need to have a detailed photo background like that when 85% of it is always covered up by other tables.

Very, very nice Bacon. I really like the layout of it. And, I've never seen a LOTR RP site before so it's nice to see something new that is really great.

I would, but I've never really been that big of a LOTR rings fan. I don't know much about the films or books either. I saw each one once, so it would be hard for me. Maybe I will go back and re-watch them again or something

 

Read the books. They're good.

Or you could just join and read our quote of the day and eventually you'll have read the whole book.

FOTR is the best out of the three, IMO.

School is taking away my members...

Well, usually come September it is harder to juggle schoolwork, sports and Star Wars (and other world-wide obsessions, like LOTR). So, give it a month or so. Everyone will find things easier to manage once school has been in session for a few weeks, and then your members will start coming back.

I would actually reccomend that, come October, you send an email out to all of your members asking them if they want to see anything new from the site and if they are interested in coming back. That way, you will no for sure who still is a supporter and who was RPing to kill some time.

 

LOL, they're still coming, they just ain't on as much.

But, I'll do that.

Anyways, tomorrow there is to be a grand ball to celebrate the opening of the Tolkien Forums RPG.

ALL are invited to attend.

The ceremonies will include a great banquet hosted by the dwarves, a play performed by the Halflings, a musical operetta/dance sequence perfected by the Elves of Lorien, and spectacular dueling fights made by the Men of Rohan and Gondor. There is also to be a dance hall.

Come and join in on the festivities! Everyone is invited to join!

NOTE: All other sections of the site will be down tomorrow.

 

Wait, why will all the other sections be down?

If you're going to have some sort of a celebration for a new part of the site, you should have EVERYTHING available. Show people everything that is available. If they happen to visit and see the majority of the site is not even operable, they will be less likely to return than if they can browse through the rest of your site and find more interesting or helpful information.

 

Well, they're supposed to be down so all attention can be focused on the main attraction of the day.

Maybe I could make everything read-only for the day?
