    I would worry a bit about his personal life being a distraction. But I recently saw his new movie with Emily Blunt and I have to admit he really is a good action star. So if true, this wouldn't be horrible.

    I'll bite....I dont actually mind Cruise so if this rumour turns out to be true then I would not mind too much but I'd want it as a small a part as possible. A senator/commander/pilot or something and that's it. No need to attach more big names to this project though so I don't think it will happen. He could've gone to just catch up with JJ.

    Yeah, Edge of Tomorrow was fantastic. best sci-fi film ive seen in quite a while. Cruise is a quality actor - a cameo is nothing really but would still be cool to see him.

    If he's in the background somewhere I won't mind but please don't let him have a speaking part. I think it'd stick out as "hey, Tom Cruise is in Star Wars" instead of the character just being a part of the scene. It'd be too distracting.

    Those are my feelings as well - I don't mind him as an actor, but please don't have him be in such a prominent role, that he becomes a distraction.

    But yeah, I saw this is coming from The Sun again, so I doubt there's much to it.

    Well, as long as he is not recognizeable as Tom Cruise, why not? His Tropic Thunder dance during the credits was hillarious. They could stick 6 boobies on him and make him a Hutt's dancer FWIW...

    As long as he won't be cast as Harrison's replacement as Han Solo, I am okay with this...

    Based on him meeting JJ?
    Tom Cruise is about to make Mission impossible V and I believe JJ/bad robot are still producers on that. So the meeting was probably about that..

    Unless its an origins story...its safe to say Han Solo is one of the few roles in Hollywood that will NEVER be recast!
