If you could rank, the top 10 cues or tracks + an honorable mention from the 4 Star Wars films, what would they be?
    Mine:

Honorable Mention: (Alternate cue Binary Sunset (SE Disk 1)

10.)Death of Anakin (Imperial March playing out on their last strings)

    9.)Anakin Destroys Battle Station

    8.)Death of Yoda

7.)When we meet Obi-Wan for first time in ANH(used in the beginning of the Episode 1 teaser)

    6.)Duel of the Fates

    5.)Hoth Battle (mainly AT-AT attack)

4.)Anakin leaves his mother (Episode 1)

3.)Luke forces himself to look at his dead uncle and aunt, making a decision in that moment to face his destiny.

2.)Funeral Pyre (both versions on ROJ:SE Disk 2(my best friend played this music at his wedding when he and I walked down the aisle.)*Tie with Binary Sunset (both use pretty much same music)They're bookends for Luke's journey.

1.)When Luke opens up a can on Vader, momentarily swayed to the darkside in ROJ (male chorus is just awesome. Everytime I hear it, I just get soothed into the music)

Now that was hard. It's unfair having to pick the top 10. Everyone is special and loved. Well maybe except the gungun theme or the ewok them. I can't even listen to the what used to be cute ewok theme now. But perhaps that due to having listened to every note of music on these CDs what has got to be close to 500 times.

    10. Passage Through the Planet Core - TPM - There's an antagonistic quality to this music that I really like.
    9. Ben's Introduction - ANH - Haunting yet beautiful.
    8. TIE Fighter Attack - ANH - Great action cue.
    7. Anakin Meets Padme - TPM - There's a simple elegance to this piece that gets me every time.
    6. The entire final passage from ESB, beginning with Luke getting his hand cut off. From that moment until the end of the credits, it's one great musical whole, which is one reason why I so despise the new shots of Vader going to his shuttle and getting off the shuttle. They disrupt this great musical movement.
    5. Luke goes postal on Vader - ROTJ - Hard not to be excited by the gothic beauty of this piece.
    4. Binary Sunset - ANH - It almost a musical cliche now, but it's still great.
    3. Ben's Death - ANH - I get chills just listening to it.
    2. The Trap - ROTJ - I love it when the ships turn to avoid hitting the DS2. Those six brass notes, then BUM! on the drum.
    1. The Asteroid Field - ESB - My favorite musical passage from any film. It's got great fluidity to it. It's just perfect.

Great list, caliman! The only one I would add is the ROTJ SE ending celebration.

But I do have to agree with Cindé: Ten seems like too small of a number for JW music. :D

I forgot to mention the asteroid field! How could I forget that?? Also, the very beginning music of ESB, when the probe droid is being deployed. And the battle music in ROTJ as the rebels prepare to attack the Death Star. And Journey through the Core in TPM. Did I already mention it? Oh well, I'm mentioning it again. And the Jedi's meeting with Boss Nass, and the queen's audience with Boss Nass, and all the music of TPM, ANH, ESB, and ROTJ. Sorry, I just can't pick only 10. :)

How could I have forgotten Cantina Band? AH!!!

"You have failed me for the last time, Captain Page."

"No, Lord Vader. Your... shoe.... is ..... un....tied."

    "What?"

10: Binary Sunset, a peaceful amazing piece that captures the beauty and simplicity of the original Star Wars.
It's such a classic, yet at the same time so groundbreaking for the time it came out.
9: Anakin destroys the battle station, a superb action packed piece that grabs the feel of the moment and really pushes it to the limit.
8: Death of Yoda, this music almost makes me actually cry.
The music is simply amazing and quite awe inspiring for a death piece.
7: Hoth Battle, a great action piece that simply seems to show a slaughter in the tone rather then a fight.
6: Death of Anakin/Vader, a wonderful piece that even surpasses Yoda's death music.
The ironic Imperial March playing along with it is brilliant and symbolizes the end of Anakin's journey and his final redemption.
5: Duel of the Fates, an amazing piece that SHOULD have been nominated for an Oscar last year.
It's so energetic and full of complete conflict that is built up through the flick till the very end.
4: The Imperial March, for obvious reasons
3: The Escape from Cloud City, a great musical score that shows an escape to the very sense of each note.
    2: The Asteroid Field, Ditto
1: The Final fight of Vader/Luke's Attack,
The best piece of music in the ENTIRE saga in my honest opinion, and an amazing Goth piece for a classical score.
Completely dramatic and full of superb energy, yet dark and almost sad for Vader as Luke completely overpowers him.

This thread deserves to be at the top, considering what this forum is about... plus I couldn't resist giving my own list:

    Into the Trap
    Losing a Hand(Rescue from Cloud City)/Hyperspace
    The Battle of Yavin
    The Asteroid Field
Escape in the Milennium Falcon(The Rebels Escape Again)
    Luke and Leia
The Return of the Jedi(Sail Barge Assault)
    Duel of the Fates
    The Death of Yoda
The Rebel Fleet/End Title (from ESB)

I can't really give them an absolute order, so it will just have to be a top ten.

    In no particular order:

Princess Leia's Theme - can't believe no one's mentioned this yet. It's probably the most romantic and haunting bit of music in the saga, and I wish it was used more in the sequels.
    Main Theme
    Binary Sunset
    Throne Room
    Imperial March
    Yoda's Theme
ESB Finale (forgot what it's called)
    Emperor's Theme
    Duel of the Fates
    Auggie's Great Municipal Band
