I agree. I need to run out and see Kill Bill Vol 2 still. But I need to see it before I miss my chance in theaters, so We will do a Kill Bill night later.

I think we need to have a LOTR night....but wait till the ROTK S.E version or not?...hmmm choices.

I also thought we could have Mafia Night.

Watch a Mafia film and eat some pasta. Then roll Joey up in a carpet and .. uhh nevermind.

    We could have:

    Kung Fu night.
    Comedy Night
    Musical Night (Just for LDV)
    Documentary Night
    Chick Flick Night (for me)
    Horror Night
    HardCore Porn Night
    Sci Fi Night
    Fantasy Night

I might have a place to do some of this at really soon. But we need more options.

Wow that is a heck of a list Dead ! Things are ideal here for Mafia Night, i have very nearly every film related to the topic...well the good ones at least.

More on theme nights, for all the Good Irish out there, you can proceed one of two ways classic:
    The Quiet Man
Darby O'Gill and the Little People
    Finian's Rainbow
    Miller's Crossing
    The Matchmaker
    The Devil's Own
    etc....

Or base it on films located in a certain place, ohhh for instance GREECE:
    Captain Corelli's Mandolin
    The Guns of Navarone
    For Your Eyes Only
    The Bourne Identity
    Shirley Valentine
    Three Lovers
    TROY !!!

Well whatever you guys do it sounds like a lot of fun. Just stay away from the home movies/porn night!!! ???SCARY !

As for the LOTR et all, don't you just know that as soon as you fork out the money they will come up with an even better version with more extras.... I have heard that this christmas they will be coming out with the original SW trilogy on DVD !!! That will be brilliant of course, but again after this last film is out and eventually released to video/dvd you know there will be an even better set available with all the movies and more goodies........its a never ending viscious cycle of consumersism....what the hell though, tis always worth the money!

I like the idea of having theme nights. Especially Musical night :D I could supply quite a few.

I finally saw The Last Samurai last night. Pretty darn good! A little over the top with the blood squirting, but a very good plot and script. Also saw Brother Bear, another good movie. Very spiritual. I like!

A little over the top with the blood squirting,

Umm, no offense but isn't this sorta required when everyone is using katanas?

I enjoyed Last Samurai, but I had just seen a couple of History Channel shows about ther period and there were some goofs that I'm sure no one else noticed, but irritated the hell out of me. Besides those, however, I liked it.

Well, my complaints were purely technical, although I have seen the History v. Hollywood tale on this too.

A true samurai would not follow through when cutting off a friend's head during hari kari. He would stop just short of a complete beheading, so that the head would not roll away and offfend the sensibilities of those around.

Also, in terms of the Indian Wars thing, well the Cavalry did not fight the Indians on horseback. That is PRECISELY why Custer was massacred. Cavalry would get off their horses, line up about 5 feet apart and start firing. They used single action rifles, but the Indians used Repeating Rifles, so they couild move quickly and take them out.

KESSEL!! you broke the rules..we don't wanna teach those savages in Canada our military secrets!!

Now we might face the ice skating hordes of The Canuck Republican Guard, before we can set up proper defence systems.

Great now we'll all end each sentance with "eh" and O will be gone for good.

Now Lucas will be forced to go back and change all the dialog.

"I felt a distrubancce in the force eh"

"What are you talking aboot R2"

Well lets just hope thier all too drunk and horny (LDV's words)to invade.

Well thank goodness, General Custer deserved that and more !!!

Sorry about the eh, its beyond my control, but never fear we canadian women love the big O, every night and twice on sundays.

What bloody secrets??? Everyone with CNN knows all there is to know about le damn yankees.Don't worry Dead, we are a very merciful nationality, NOT REPUBLICANS !!!!(they suck) we don't wage war against the decrepit---keep your depends on and you will very likely keep your scalp as well. The threat is over until winter at least, we can't cross the great lakes unless they freeze over (dont tell everyone though). As for the dialogue you needn't worry we are bilingual here, many of us speak even more than the 2 official languages of Canada; canadian and french, lets add english, american and yankee, but sorry we will need a translator for redneck........no clue what is coming out of Bush's lips???

Is there such a thing as too drunk? It canna be true! I do my best work when i am horny, so be afraid be very afraid!

Don't you worry though there are lots of tranny-suites for rent in all the major cities...welcome to the north ! Yes, i have heard about weather being colder than a witches t** but, as i am not a witch (some say take the w and add a b), and dont happen to be in the aquaintance of any you will have to look elsewhere for that answer. And....to get back on topic.....as my colleague has said.

I saw the most fab preview for "the Village" its the new film by M. Night Shmalyan (sp?) you know who i mean, the guy behind "the sixth sense" and "signs" Wow, i am really looking forward to it now!!!

And of course the new King Arthur movie...looks to be a good hot summer in a nice air conditioned theatre near you !!! Which means many more good/bad films to watch, rent, buy and most importantly discuss !

YOU (BEEP) that pic was for your private collection only!!

And it was cold....so shut up.

    Village: Worth a look.

King Arthur: Will see, but I get that low expectations feeling from it.

Harry Potter 3: Booyah! I think this one could really set the bar.

    Spider Man 2: Nuff said.

Cat-woman: Only if capture by the CIA and forced into it in a clock work orange sort of way.

Garfield: The boy is nuts for the trailer, might have to go to this one (note to self: plan memory erase after)

I,Robot: hellllzzzz no. plot would be ok, but Will Smith sucks for this type of work....plus the trailer showed the entire film.

If Michael Moore's new film gets out this summer that will be on the list. say what you will, I like the guy and his work. (even if it aint all "exactly" correct...as if the news is either)

Now if ONLY sky Captain didn't get the bump to Sept...arrghhh outside of spiderman and potter this was my big movie I was waiting for.

BTW Shrek 2 was pretty dang funny.

Back on the trailer topic..I get so pissed when the trailer shows you the entire movie...am I alone on this?

No, I hate that too. Which is why Harry Potter has got me so excited to see it. The trailers never showed enough for me, it was all so fast you could barely tell what one image was and you were off to the next. I say we do this SVRF style and see it on IMAX. What say ye? :)

Talk about a trailer that shows you the whole damn movie:

    I, Robot.

I love the book this is based on, but it doesn't look like they took anything from the book but the 3 laws of robotics. I'm gonna see it probably, but with very low expectations.

I didn't particularly care for the first Shrek, so it's not high on my list, but may end up seeing it with my cousin.

Village. M. Night has yet to make me happy. Don't get me wrong. He's incredibly at creating suspense and tension. But his endings always piss me off. Alas, this I will be seeing as well because of aforementioned cousin.

Spidey 2. I really am looking forward to it, but surprisingly not as much as I expected to look forward to it. But Spidey's always been my favorite super-hero.

Yes, i agree as well, a lot of trailers show way too much...almost as bad are people in line talking about some major plotlines of what you are about to go and see...Grrrr but the worst for me seems to be little blurbs that i read, it really drives me 'round the bend when a movie is blown like that....i love to be surprised, well as much as possible, its more that i like to try and figure out who-done-it, you only have the first time to be shocked by something, every other viewing is you appreciating the work more (or memorizing the dialogue, right ??? :) )
    Couldn't care less about "Garfield".
I plan to wait for the DVD in regards to "Shrek 2" (cannot deal with a theatre full of children).
I want to see "Cat-Woman" its the return of Sharon Stone
Definitely "Harry Potter", "Bourne Supremacy", "The Village" and i just saw a fabu bit for "Ladder 49" with Travolta and Joaqim Phoenix !!!
I know what you mean about M. Knight i was very disappointed with "Unbreakable" and at first look wasnt thrilled with "Signs" but after a few more viewings the performances really hooked me.

Do you ever go and see something strictly based on who is in it ??? Isn't it a kick in the pants when it turns out to be lame? That is when i most resemble a cat.....curiosity will get me every damn time!!!

Ooooooh i rented the "LOTR Return of the King", it was brilliant of course (I had already seen it when it was in theatres) but.......I was expecting way waaaay more on the DVD, it wasnt bad but it was the same cut, no extras in that dept. I imagine they are waiting until Christmas to put out a deluxe trilogy set so if you are crazy for the extras in life and DVD wait and buy it later.

Saturday matinee of "Troy" if i dont have to work.. So eager to see it, no its not for the greek men in skirts, i can see that anytime i want! Its the mythology i have grown up with these stories and these people has heroes....when i was little and moved to Greece i really thought i was going to meet Hercules ! Please be nice...

The first release of the LOTR's are always the theatrical. EE will come out in September or November.

I am anxiously NOT awaiting Catwoman. Halle Berry always annoys me a bit, and it just looks majorly disappointing from the trailers.

Joaquin Phoenix typically annoys me (not as bad as Nicole Kidman but...) so that is just another reason I don't want to see the Village.

This brings us to the biggest TEAR in my personal excitments this summer is The Stepford Wives. Love the concept. Want to see it. Love the cast...>EXCEPT Nicole *shudders*

I love the mythology too (in my opinion, we didn't spend nearly enough time on it in my High School english lit class). But the one reason I want to see Troy....Orlando Bloom. :D I'm pathetic..I know.

Well, I have a feeling you'll be frustrated by Orland after seeing Troy. He plays a wussy jerk after all.

I love mythology too. I'm a Joseph Campbell nut. To that end, I CAN'T wait to see Hero, The Blind Swordsman, and a handful of other asian influence films coming up

Come on, you can't possibly blame it on Nicole? Matthew Broderick, Christopher Walken and Bette Midler??? sadly you know its gotta suck, simply because there are so many interesting people in it... the original was a trippy little idea, this looks to be full blown comedy with a touch of the freakshow.

that said i am still gonna pay my 4.50 to go and see it
