    I just think the notion of Amidala singing "I will survive" to Vader is just too brilliant for words. And yet the audience picked the stupid, totally on the nose "we are family" with Luke/Leia. Ugh.

    No, I mean the canon ENDS after Return of the Jedi so that was the last canonical appearance of Darth Vader. We see Anakin Skywalker later (pick your version) with Yoda and Obi-Wan, but that's the last time we see Darth Vader, right before Luke takes off the mask...

    He became Anakin Skywalker when he made the decision to sacrifice himself for Luke. Vader's last chronological appearwnce was the second before he made that decision.
