This is perhaps the most difficult choice yet. I would give a slight edge to Coppola's pulp epic "The Godfather", but not by much. "Schindler's List" is a more emotionally satisfying film.

Acting wise, they balance out for me, so I'm judging on importance and global impact of the 'topic' of the film.

To me, there is no greater film than The Godfather. It's easily one of the greatest films ever made, no matter the country.
