I really like Godzilla, but The Matrix is a unique score, and perhaps the first real twenty-first century score.

The Fellowship Of The Ring - Howard Shore (2001)
Fantastic themes, development and atmosphere. A unique, epic sound as well.

    Abstain
I haven't heard either of these, which, yes, I know, is shameful.

Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade - John Williams (1989)
Ouch. Goldfinger is the second-best Barry score, and very worthy of moving on to the second round, but The Last Crusade is a great score. 'Scherzo for Orchestra and Motorcycle' earns this score its win in my book on its own.

Must have been really unique score if it was a 21st century score composed in the 20th century.:p

The Matrix - Don Davis (1999)

The Fellowship Of The Ring - Howard Shore (2001) That was incredibly hard, considering LBT is my favorite Horner score, but Shore wins for originality.

Abstain. Haven't heard Mockingbird apart from the film and that was long ago.

Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade - John Williams (1989)

    The Matrix
A really instense and memorable score that really fit with the movie.

    The Fellowship of the Ring
    Top Notch.

    Abstain

    The Last Crusade
How can you argue with Sherzo for Orchestra and Motorcycle? Few films top that level of action-writing.

Historical periods are usually not necessarily consigned to their actual dates. :p For example, the 20th Century is often not considered to have really begun until 1914.

    Godzilla - Akira Ifukube (1956)

The Fellowship Of The Ring - Howard Shore (2001)

To Kill A Mockingbird - Elmer Bernstein (1962) - This was tough. I love Memoirs, but Mockingbird is truly the better score.

Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade - John Williams (1989) - This one was also tough.

    Two Points.

    1) Sad that Goldfinger is going to be eliminated so soon. :_|

    2) I will murder someone if you people vote in Memoirs of a Geisha over To Kill A Mockingbird. If you haven't heard To Kill A Mockingbird I beg you to abstain from the vote.

So I come out of this even, right? :p I have heard both Mockinbird and Geisha...sorry, HLS. I am sad as well that Goldfinger is going to be eliminated, though. Sucks that it got matched with Indy.

Somebody please vote for Mockingbird to tie things up. It will destroy my spirit in this forum if Geisha triumphs. :_| :_| :_| [face_praying]

I just wanted to see it get past the first round because it holds a special place in my heart. If it's not doing so well in round 2, I won't beg for its survival. I shall accept its fate.

    But not now. [face_mischief]
