Easy vote. Just logic it out.

Kirk barely survived the Gorn- the only way he was able to win was because he was faster than the Gorn and was able to fashion a bazooka out of a tree and gunpowder.

Godzilla is immune to bazookas. And his massive strides give him a definitive speed advantage.

End result: Kirk goes to that little starship in the sky thanks to THE KING OF ALL FREAKING MONSTERS.

This was really tough. Godzilla is a childhood favorite. But I'm going with Kirk. Too many pop culture moments and a few great movies beat the big green guy.

I really thought Kirk would take Godzilla. I am shocked but not upset.

Your argument does not agree with your conclusion.

My vote here is determined by one thing: down with Picard. Like Obey Wann said. :)

If Picard beat Mal, and then Optimus beats Picard, that means that the forum collectively is saying that Optimus is better than Mal. If Picard wins, on the other hand, then Optimus isn't necessarily said to be better than Picard. So if you like Mal and don't care aobut the match, you should really be voting for Picard -- it makes him look better.

How Mal 'looks' doesn't concern me. If Optimus beats Picard, it doesn't change anything for Mal to me. It's the triangle result that always happens: A beats B, B beats C, but then C beats A.

They call that "Rock, Paper, Scissors".

However, in this case, the rock can transform into scissors and back, which gives it a decided advantage.

And I say that with much love! (Even though I'm voting for Picard! :p )

Alright, I know I stated we would go 1 round at a time for the Sweet 16 but I would like to get this tournament done before I start finals in 2 weeks. So we'll do 2 at a time for sure from here on out.

The first was easy, the second a bit tougher. I had to go with Wolverine given the many years of comic book reading that back him up in my mind.

Agreed. River can kill you with her brain. Quark can kill you by boring you to death.

Woverine v. Qui Gon was tougher, but my vote is for the mutant. [face_devil]

Ditto! ;) No one can beat Logan in a fight! He'd just go into berserker mode! But... I guess... if... can a lightsaber cut through adamantium? [face_thinking]

Again, this is a case where one choice was easy, but the other wasn't.

Both are so very easy for me and I'm sadden that the epitome of Jedi isn't your first choice. :p
