20 is fine with me. I can't make a Top 10 list without feeling bad for awesome and nostalgiac games I had to leave out.

 

Suck it up and narrow it down to 10. It should be consistent with the other lists that have been done.

Twenty sounds silly - we just did ten for albums, and that was way harder than ten games. But whatever.

EDIT: For the sake of simplicity, it might be wise to compile some series - mainly for games like Civilization or Madden, where every new installment is essentially an upgrade rather than a whole new experience.

 

Sports games like that I can see. But Civilization no.

 

Really? I mean, if we divide them, a lot of votes will get split several different ways and the individual games won't rank nearly as well. The games are similar enough that it would be way easier to lump them together.

I guess if we wanted to make this affair more complicated, there's a third option: collect votes for individual games, but tally votes for the entire series, add 'em up per series, and list those as well. Again, that would complicate things - though we could compensate by reducing the size of lists to ten. Twenty seems more and more absurd; last night I tried to list twenty sufficiently worthy games, but couldn't.

 

Play more games.

 

Let's just discuss it and never actually act. That way everyone is happy.


Also the Video Game Draft is STILL in DIRE need of Aragorn to judge, this is ridiculous on day 7.

Anyway.

I'm going to do a Top 200/Top 20 deal. I will post the thread by the end of this week.

 

But that's fine because Civ II and IV are more likely to get votes, and they're far better than the other iterations anyway. All of the the Civ games play quite differently.

I actually think 15 is best, but 20 is better than 10. I couldn't get every game I wanted in there with 10.

 

I still think it should be 10. But whatever.
