Bit too soon for movies, I think, since we did them last.
Book genres might be too small, but favorite book might be feasible.
To avoid having a similar result to the Favorite Movie tournament, perhaps make it favorite book/book series?
Yeah, I think that's a good idea.
I take it no-ones interested in trivia?
Wrong thread for that: you're looking for the [link=http://boards.theforce.net/census_and_games/b10264/26194943/p1/]game suggestions thread[/link].
I still vote for round 2 of Favorite Historical Figure
Since I can't really participate the current tournament, I thought about a tournament where I could join and came up with a few suggestion:
How about "favorite animal"?
Favorite sports (personal doing, not watching)?
I hope they haven't done before, or at least not in the last months.
In case you really consider doing one of them and it seems that I miss them, I would be happy to get a reminder PM - a post in FFC or WNU or GSFF would work as well, of course. Thanks!
Favorite country sounds like all kinds of trouble. Favorite animal could be awesome though
Favorite species, perhaps?
That would seem to make things smoother. So instead of Dog you could do Golden Retriever as well?
Species could work as well, if it's limited on one kind of animal like "dog". Otherwise it could be too many species at all - think about all the species of cats, dogs, horses, bunnies, guinea pig, birds and so on. Maybe doing a second tournament about species right after finding out the most favorite animal, which will be the basis for the species tournament?
Edit: Oh, and please, forget my request above. I'm lurking here more or less daily at the moment. I haven't expected that when I did the post above.
Well, we could set certain classification limits, such as only one nomination per genus.
Mhm, I'm not sure, if I get it right. If one posts "Shettland pony" then no other nomination in the category "horse" is allowed?
Well, you'd be able to nominate "horse" (generic), but that would exclude "donkey" and "zebra". Similarly, you could only nominate one of "tiger", "lion", "jaguar", or "leopard", as they all share the genus Panthera. With such a system, we might allow for multiple nominations within the same genus, with the species with the most votes making it onto the list.
Sounds like it could work
Just a short question: When do you think you post the next tournament? Approximately? I don't want to miss it and I don't know how regular you do them, that's why I'm asking.
There were more than six months between the last two, so I wouldn't worry about missing out. Some time mid-winter for the next one, probably.
More than six months? Wow... Ok, then I don't have to worry. Thanks.
