    THE RULES!

  2. Please remember that this tournament is for you to vote using your opinion ... not that of anyone else. :)

  3. This tournament is for your favourite tabletop game. The ONLY voting criteria should be that it is your favourite.

  4. If you have never heard of one of the options PLEASE take 30 seconds to click on the link (it will take you to wikipedia) where you can find some sort of description.

  5. This tournament will have a new vote APPROXIMATELY every 24 hours (except for the final rounds which will be extended additional days for maximum votes). You will be alerted that a new group is up to vote because the title will change. For example, on a Tuesday the title might be "Tournament: The Tabletop Games -- Round 1 of COUCH REGION" and then on Wednesday it would be "Tournament: The Tabletop Games -- Round 1 of LAUGHTER REGION". You cannot vote for a pair after the vote has been closed. I do forget and/or get detained occasionally, though, so be patient if there is some gaps in the updating. :)

  6. To begin with, 4 pairs of games will be voted on for each round. This is done for time reasons. The later rounds will feature only one pair. Images will accompany voting pairs.

  7. To vote, all you need to do is look at the most recent vote announcement (one of my posts, and it will have a coloured bar each new round for easy visual recognition) and pick one game from each pair. If you want to vote for one of the pairs but not the other, feel free to do so! But if you vote for anything other than what is up for the vote, your post will be ignored.

  8. Please feel free to engage in some discussion, especially comments as to why you voted for what. This makes tournaments so much more interesting!

  9. If at any time you'd like to see who has been eliminated and who is still in the running, please check the 2nd post of this thread, where I will be highlighting in red all eliminated tabletop games. Please note that the region names listed in this post and used throughout the tournament have no meaning behind them whatsoever. They are an identifier only.

  10. As always, all the normal rules apply. If you are found to be breaking the JC rules in this thread you will receive a warning, and may be forbidden from participating in the tournament after that. No voting with socks! This has happened before. If you get caught, you will not be allowed to participate in the rest of the tournament. If you have any questions PLEASE PM me!

  11. Discussion on the nominations list has been ongoing over the past month and everybody seems satisfied with it. No changes will now be made, and you missed your chance to complain. ;)

  12. All that's left is for you to vote! Please do so. Enjoy. :D

    Carcassonne
I love Carcassonne. I believe I've only played it three times, but I love the whole idea of it, and I'd certainly rather play Carcassonne than noughts and crosses.

    Snakes and Ladders
Because I've nursed an abiding grudge against (specificially Contract) bridge since my dad attempted to make me learn it at age 11.

    Atmosfear
Never played either but refuse to vote, or even abstain, for any game called Girl Talk.

    Blackjack
Once upon a time I was awesome at this. Sadly, no longer :(

I have to vote for the game that caused Joshua to forgo Global Thermo-Nuclear War

    Chutes & Ladders

    as I call it

    Atmosfear

Much cooler name than Girl Talk, which sounds incredibly lame, plus this is a video board game, which gives it extra points

    Blackjack

You can't win money playing Axis and Allies, unelss you're a real degenerate gambler.

Although I heard lots of good stuff about Carcassonne, I vote for Tic-Tac-Toe because you don't need much to play it wherever you are. ;)

    Snakes and Ladders
Tough, but it's a childhood rememberance or better a version of it. ;)

I don't know neither of them, so I abstain, but girls talk looks interesting. :p

    Blackjack
Just because of C&G and its card games. :p
