Also, to clarify my role in the tourney- I'll also be voting when we get to the next phase, but will simply cast my vote first before publicly posting a match so not to be influenced by the vote and unfairly affect the tide.

And, should we have more than 128 episodes nominated (as seems likely at the current pace), I'll randomly select whatever number of episodes that only recieved a single nomination/vote to be trimmed from the final 128 (likewise, if we end up under 128 for whatever reason, I'll randomly select the required number of unnominated episodes to fill in the remaining slots).

...unless of course we somehow end up with 128+ episodes (or near 128) with multiple nominations (though that seems very unlikely), in which case those trimmed will be seletced from amongst the "double nominated", etc etc (as the "single noms" will have already been disqualified in such a scenario).

In order to do an elimination bracket you need to have either 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, etc entries otherwise you wouldn't have enough pairings to evenly face them off. I went with 128 because it was the first value above 100 and since there aren't 256 SG-1 episodes, it narrows down the options ;)

Only twice for the whole series. Season 1 three and a half, I think. And, obviously, multiple noteworthy episodes several more times.

Also, it has dawned on me that I haven't established rules regarding ties, should one emerge in a matchup. Besides encourgaing in a post here that a tiebreaker vote be cast by a user yet to vote, should no tiebreaker be cast, I'll perform a coin flip to determine the outcome and will note them as such.

Figure it might be good to spur some discussion about the episodes.

-Space Race always seemed to me to be one of those really obvious filler standalones in Season 7, something to fill in the space between Full Circle and Lost City after they realized they had to stretch things out for S7, plus it was one of those "O'Neill is elsewhere most of the time" eps to begin RDA's reduced episode presence.

That said, it does have some great, and funny, character moments, particularly this one between Carter and Teal'c:

WARRICK: I will go myself and pick one up after I get back from escorting Colonel O'Neill, Dr. Jackson, and Teal'c to the Hebridan Capitol building.
    O'NEILL: T., you coming?
TEAL'C: Major Carter has requested that I remain so that I may assist her.
    O'NEILL: She did?
    CARTER (SIMULTANEOUSLY): I did?
    TEAL'C: Indeed.
    CARTER: Right. Yes, thank you.
TEAL'C: I do not wish to disappoint Major Carter.
O'NEILL: Yes, I know the feeling.
    WARRICK: Shall we?
    O'NEILL: Stay in touch.
TEAL'C: I am in your debt, Major Carter.
    CARTER: Indeed.

    [face_laugh]

-Tok'ra part 1 definitely was the point where the series started to really expand our allies, and the Tok'ra certainly remained prominent for most of the show after this (almost as prominent as Vanessa Angel's chest in her costume ;) ), though I'd like to have seen what's become of the Tok'ra more recently.

-Collateral Damage was an interesting standalone, kinda in the middle (both physicaly in terms of episode order and in terms of overall quality) of a stretch of Cam-centric episodes, though Babylon & Stronghold exceed this one (though Stronghold obviosuly leverages this episode).

-Thresold has become one of my favorite Teal'c-centric episodes, despite the fact that brainwashed Teal'c is probably my least favorite plotline in the entire series. This episode kinda represents both side sof the coin for Judge as an actor- his "evil Teal'c" moments don't come across very well, but he has other moments in the flashbacks where he really shines (the scene where he recounts destroying the village where his friend exiled himself in particular). It really helps flesh out Teal'c's history too, making Children of the Gods itself more effective in retrospect. I've actually been working on editing an expanded version of COTG together using the Threshold flashbacks as a prologue of sorts.

-48 Hours I'm indifferent to, for the msot part- it's certainly not my favorite "gate problem" episodes, but I don't hate it either. Kinda seemed like an excuse just to fry the Russian DHD and get it out of the way of future plotlines, though.

-Last Stand aka "The Tok'ra get effed-up by Anubis". Sorta continues the deconstruction of SG-1's allies (following in the wake of the Tollan and, later, the Asgard), since everyone was starting to get too powerful. Not to mention starting the Anubis arc, for all intenst and purposes.

-Window of Opportunity. Teal'c. Door. Gold.

-Absolute Power, though it sorta obviously reveals itself as an alternate timeline or dream towards the end, it is rather interesting still.

I love any episodes where Teal'c does something weird. :p Especially the season one eps where he is just figuring out what Earth is like. I just watched an episode last night where Teal'c turns on the TV and it's the news and it shows riots. Then when they're about to go out of the mountain he wants to take his staff weapon because: "I have seen what your world is like."

    Classic Teal'c. :p
