Buff, NY ToyFare Magazine Treasure Hunt:

I know this is long but Please read all of this if interested!!
Hey everyone lets see if we can win this. If you read ToyFare magazine they are having an ultimate treasure hunt contest. The winners get $10,000 in prizes, mostly Gentle Giant and MR Star Wars stuff, with addition packages for 2nd,3rd, and 100 runner up prizes up to $2500! There are about 75 items to get some easy some a lot harder. They range from a Mr.Potato Head piece to a tape of us singing and rapping the A-Team theme. It needs to be sent in by August 1, but we get a bonus points for every day it gets sent in early, so lets get busy! The list of stuff is in the August issue of ToyFare, if you can't find it I have it. Also some group pics are needed so we would have to get together soon for a little while. (Maybe this Sunday or next Saturday at the latest?) This is open to everyone in the group, but there are a few rules, as this is a ton of stuff if we were to win.

1. If you want to be eligible for prizes you must contribute a minimum number of items to the hunt. I think 5 is a fair number, it could be slightly more or less depending on how much interest we get. Also you would need to be present for the necessary group picture. If your not in the picture you can't win any prizes! If you can only contribute 1 item please do, but be aware you might not be rewarded for your efforts. Sorry, but this keeps it fair so not 1 or 2 people are doing all the work and the slackers get to reap the benefits, and walk away with 10 Gentle Giant statues.

2. IF we win anything, prizes are to be dristributed in a fair manner! It would be done via a fantasy football draft style. Everyone gets a pick and we go from there until evrything is gone. We can always trade afterwards or sell what you have on Ebay to get something else. I have done something similar like this before and this seems the most fair way to do it. If someone really must have a specific item, make a trade or have someone pick what you want for you. I don't want friends angry with one another over stupid free toys!

3. I need to know a definite in or out by Saturday the 15th since we need to get started as soon as possible. I know this is cutting it close but we need to see what everyone may or may not have lying around and if we need to buy anything. Post your interest here and lets get busy. Happy hunting!!

 

Whats on the hunt?

 

There are about 70 items it would take me about 2 hours to type them all out though. Some examples are:

A piece from a potato head
A solid yellow super ball
A corn pipe
Us with a picture of any sports team
A black sleeve from an original NES game
A DVD with ningas and robots on it

If you really want I can list evert item but I won't have it ready for a while

Oddly I have a Nintendo black sleeve and was getting ready to throw it out.

 

No you send the actual items in. Also is the black sleeve from an 8 bit game thats the one they want.

This sounds like alot of fun. Post list or post pics of what needs to be submitted. I'm a pack rat so who knows, I might actually have alot of what is on there. In otherwords, I'm in. Let's see what we can come up with.

I will post the complete list when I get home from work an edit to my original post. If you have something or get it post it so we don't get 10 of the same thing. I have some of the things already so I will leave them off the master list, and will keep one on paper at home. We also need to set up a time to get together for pics so post what day or days might be good for you, then I will have to pick one.
Would any one have a problem with some time this Sunday, morning, afternoon or evening?

Yea I found a ton of stuff at the dollar store and party city. Chris if you are working on the lobster bib check the $1 section at Target they had them by me but I forgot them yesterday.

 

I should be able to help with some of the more creative tasks if you need me.

 

Great start guys, we still need to set a time to get together for a group picture and collect everything.

 

I can grab a Putt-Putt (Adventure Landing my ***) since they're right down the street. I honestly don't know if they'll still say Putt-Putt, so we'll see.
