Planning on attending? Stores 6043 and 5829 should be the best!
    Why?
6043 is the flagship store and it rocks! They have a ferris wheel in the store! A life size dino! Tons of great stuff!
    What about 5829?
That's where you know who shops.
    Yup, the man himself.

Also, be sure to let the staff at your local store know you plan on attending!
Several stores are unsure if they should go ahead with the event (it isn't mandatory) and you letting them know you want to attend will help make sure the doors open at midnight!

    See you in the aisles!

Hmmm....I guess there's no chance in persuading any local stores to open up anyways, is there? wal-mart is still an option, but so are meijer stores. they're open 24 hrs a day, and have a pretty good toy department. back in 99 I heard of someone walking into mejier at midnight and picking up a 12" darth maul with no trouble at all. anwyays.....that's my two cents, and besides, its 8am, and I'm a little hungover, so don't mind me.

Well, I think the Toys R Us thing is dead now. We should think about Walmart, I think that's the best choice, because:
    - They have Toys
    - They have CD's
    - They have cereals, candy, and Lays!!! :D

    And they've got clothes!
    And shoes!
    And sporting equipment!
    And Fabric!
    And videos and DVDs!
    And Housewares!
    And Furniture!
    And Gardening supplies!
    And fish!
    And Seasonal Items!

Oh, yeah, and Ludo mentioned TOYS! [face_laugh]

OH YEAH!!! Meyier or Walmart is cool with me.. :) Have we thought of dinner or something afterwards? The only other thing is, that the 23rd of April is like a Tuesday. *laughin'* Why do they always make these things in the middle of the week?

    Lotus! :)

The Perkins in Eastgate is still 24-7 too, if I'm not mistaken. But I know for sure that the Steak-n-Shake here is.

That is, of course, as long as perkins has more than two waitresses.

Steak-n-shake has better food anyways, unless you are in the mood for breakfast.

Jedimike, mr. events coordinator, would this fall under your title? to get things organized, plan ahead, check out the various walmarts and see which ones are gonna have the most stuff, and who's gonna have it out at midnight etc. maby call ahead well in advance to either perkins or steak n shake and get a large reservation etc. Keep us posted as to what you find out!

I don't know, but if we're doing a midnight run for toys in Eastgate, we probably won't have to worry about any super huge crowds. Not at that hour, at least.

Ok, i'm sure this is a long shot, but i was checking out the indy knights board and apparently they have convinced one of their TRU stores to open for midnight madness. They are gonna have some people in costume, a photographer doing pics with customers and the people in costume...there's maybe gonna be some radio and/or TV coverage.

What does anyone think about doing a road trip? Anyone have a van or something that could squeeze 10 or so of us in for a 2 hour trip there and 2 hour trip back, wait...we would need a trailer for everybodies figs, we might need 2 vans or something instead.

OR if they can do it, we can do it! We MIGHT be able to convince a local TRU to open as well. We would need to get some support from OSWCC, at least for some numbers. Plus this would be a great way to promote ourselves if we were able to pull it off...

does anyone think either option is doable????

I don't know if it is really worth the try, as we said Walmart and Meijer will be opened, I'm pretty sure we will find whatever we'll need.... plus, if we are missing stuff, we can still go to the TRU opening in the morning :)

If folks want to head to Indy for their opening that cool. It's also that they have 75 members. This is just for me and me only. I can't afford to travel all the way to Indy as much fun as it would be. We're just working on getting us to the Convention. Right now that's my goal. I'll be there in support of the group for the Figure Dash here in Cincinnati, but as for the Drive you may want to contact one of the Officers of the Indy Knights and ask if it's possible for you to go with them to TRU. (www.indyknights.com) Just to clear you and Amber, and whoever else might want to go. Plus it's also a Tuesday night that the toys come up.

    Lotus!

It will be monday night, the 23rd at 00.01 from what I understand Lotus. Plus that's true, i won't have the finance/time to go up there, I'll stick with the Eastgate plan...

I figured that would be the concensus of most of the group, which is fine by me, just thought it might be fun...dropping the $$ on the figs is gonna be bad enough, w/o the travel expense...

Also, was at TRU in western hills today, asked a manager about midnight madness, she confirmed that no Cincy store will be doing it, said that they were hoppin for about 3 hours for TPM but sat around doing nothing from 3-8am... from a corperate standpoint it's just not worth the payroll...

Asked how many new things were coming out; she said that someone had told here something like 144 figures...that sounds WAAAYYY off, there was barely that many in the ENTIRE POTF2 line!!!! I don't even know have many variations of figures they could come up with to get 144 figures from one movie. Padme's got a lot of outfit changes, if they did one of each of those that would make up some of them, but not 144 figs...maybe 144 total sku's including figs, ships, food items (for ludo), legos, deluxe figs, accessories, roll playing stuff (ie light sabers)

who knows.....continue saving up some cash, this might be a big one!!!

I guess, if you look at it from the standpoint of how many minor characters and walk-ons there would be, it would be possible to come up with 144 figs. But I'd have to agree with Padawan that, surely, there wouldn't be that many to come out at once.

then again, why make a zillion of each of say, 30 figs for the release of the figs and have the possibility of pegwarmers a month or so later, when they could make just a couple hundred thousand of 144 figs, to make them more rare, and increase the rush for them, increase profets, and reduce the chance of pegwarmers.
