Alright, well it seems I have a bit of a double standard here so I will simply drop it. You may have a point about "dig" because it definately conjures a negative connotation for me. Perhaps my frustration with the events of yesterday got me a bit on edge. No worries and back to our regularly scheduled DF.

 

I would love to have the orginal Phantom Menace on DVD.

That is the film that was a dream come true. A real Syar Wars film after 16 year.

It is part of my favorite memories now, along with ANH, TESB, and ROTJ. Four of my most beloved films of all times.

Oh yes. Actually, I do prefer the DVD version of TPM and AOTC. The race, for some reason, seems cooler, more realistic (4 laps than 3) and showed Anakin having far more superior piloting skills. And there were little things, like more interaction with his mom and an better pacing with the inclusion of the Taxi scene.

And notice-better yet, Lucas didn't really try to sell it as "new" version or "extended" version. Or even try to sell you TWO versions. Just one.

Of couse, we all know that Lucas is a greedy S-O-B

Question of the day: What OT character woulld you have liked to see in TPM? Personally, I would have enjoyed seeing a young Gran Moff Tarkin-that would have been cool. Don't know in what aspect or where in the movie to put him, but I thought it would be cool.

I wish the Eoopie fart scene was longer in the original film. The extended version on Disk II gave us a glimpse into the workings of the universe and was much funnier in my opinion.

D'oh! I hate being edited.

I was not trying to slander the Bashers in anyway... just trying to more fully understand the bashing phenomena.
No other Film in History has such a Devoted Fan Base of Bashers. Which led me to believe the Bashers really are Fans.
How Can You "Defend" a film if you don't acknowledge the "Attackers"?

 

One can easily defend TPM without getting into discussing the people who dislike it. You can discuss their opinions and their posts all you want. But when you get into discussing the posters instead, it becomes problematic and causes more trouble than it's worth.
