    With what money? Republic credits were no good on Tatooine.

    a ship is way more than 20,000 credits. waay more. alot of cars are more. here are a few reasons he didnt do just that.

    1. Unethical

    2. Hard to find dealer that weak minded

    3. Oppurtunity with Anakin presented itself first.




    In response to your post, I present the following:
    1) No, incorrect, wrong. Qui Gon tried to get him to take the credits via Jedi Mind Trick, but Watto's species is to strong-minded to fall for it.

    2) I doubt it, its unlikely that the Toydarians monoplized the ship trading front on Tatooine. There are plenty of people who would succumb to the Jedi Mind Trick on Tatooine.

    3) NO, that is why Qui Gon bartered with Watto first. It failed, so then, and only then did the whole Anakin Pod Race deal come up.
