Tracers in 3ds Max 6

    Hello again,

    I was wondering if anyone knows how to do the effect for tracer rounds from a machine gun. I'm assuming that I'll be using a particle system but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to "launch" individual particles in sequence (how machine gun tracers look, one after the other with a 1-2 sec. interval). Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions/thoughts/ideas please respond.

    Can you key the emitter state (i don't know how Max emitters work)? What I would do is set the emitter to emit a high number, then key it on and off every so often so it emits a stream of particles, then shuts off, then emits another one, etc.
