I was gobsmacked by the cable-swinging. Absolutely amazing. That might be my favourite stunt from any movie ever.

I posted this in another thread, but didn't really get a response. Did anyone notice how at the beginning of the trailer- the front of fighters escorting the theta class shuttle sort of resemble the sith infiltrator when you slow it down? Sort of a cool mix between that and the TIE- fighter. Cant wait to see it onscreen.

I think dnation was trying to say: "I thought the trailer was wonderful, and was particularly impressed by the lightsabre duel."

Did anyone else notice what looks like blue laser fire going past Bail during his slow-motion yell?

Yes, those would be laser blasts from Clonetroopers.

Wasn't Smits shown shooting that shot in one of the web docs? He was shown behind his speeder yelling something and getting fired upon.

Sheesh, 40 pages, so I might be behind the times....

Anyone notice the Clonetroopers are shooting BLUE lasers in this movie? Obviously because they begin on the good side in the film - but just thought is was a neat factoid. It's seen in a big cannon blast and when one shoots Aayla; not the actually laser, but a blast of blue in both occasions. hmm.

er...is it only my "blue oyster" version of AOTC or am I colorblind but I think the troopers shoot blue there too. :)

    Two things I noticed today:

    1. People are saying Anakins hand positioning looks weird and un-natural when he and Obi-Wan are force dueling/pushing. Thats because they aren't both Anakin's hands. One is Anakin's and the other is Obi-wan's, facing each other. Look at 2:00 to see.

    2. "Ah yes, a Jedi's Weapon". People have said, "why does Sidious use a lightsaber if he seems to detest them in ROTJ? Sidious is going to throw his light saber in ROTS. But I can totally see him saying something like "I do not need this inferior weapon to defeat you, Jedi. I have the power of the Dark Side with me." and then he will throw is light saber at Yoda and continue to assult him with the force ala Vader in ESB.

He is going to fight with his lightsaber against Mace and his posse, though.

haha, blueharvester, their blasts were blue in aotc i know. But there was dispute in earlier threads if the troopers would shoot blue or red in this movie.

It's noteworthy that the only "red" we see is Palpatine's saber (and Dooku's) and general laser fire from the enemy. Maybe Lucas wanted to emphasize the evilness of Palpatine and the betrayl of Anakin (by using Jedi blue).

There are. Right at the end you can see an ARC-170 being chased by what appears to be a vulture droid or droid starfighter.

I'm quite surprised there's been relatively little salivating over suited Vader given the obsession I've seen over the months :D

Realy show's how big those juggernaughts are because those people that look human size by the juggernaught are actualy wookie size.

Did anyone notice how much better the Coruscant backgrounds look? That was a weak point of AOTC for me: the cityscapes much of the time looked flat and cartoony.

Notice the window scenery in the shots of Palpatine in his inner office and also in the shot of Padme sobbing, and compare those to the window scenery in AOTC, for example in Pamde's apartment.

300% improvement! This movie looks gorgeous, in addition to looking more gritty and realistic.

Speaking of which, did anyone notice that the Coruscant background in the shot of Palpatine sitting in the antechamber has been changed from earlier pics of it?

Here's one of the pics from Spoileriffic I think:

    Original version

Compare it to the similar shot in the trailer and it looks like all the buildings in the background have been changed or modified. The colors and lighting of the shot are also very different. The original has more of a blue tint while the trailer version has a green olive drab color to it. I kinda prefer the look and atmosphere of the original version.

Besides that I agree, the digital matte paintings have drastically improved from AOTC. I also love the night time background in the Padme/C-3PO shot.

Yeah that's right about Palpatine's office, I like the original version as well, but the bluish metallic look kind of blends in with the office itself.

The trailer has made me start thinking back across TPM and AOTC and a hundred details which now seem so right in retrospect. Here's a few.

    1. The shot at the end of TPM at Qui Gon's funeral right after Yoda and Mace are talking about "who was killed, the Master or the Apprentice?" and the camera pans over and focuses on Palpatine. I already knew what the shot was indicating but now watching it just gives me chills. Great foreshadowing.

    2. "And you young Skywalker, we shall watch your career with great interest" - again, that moment just resonates so much better when you later see Palps explaining to Anakin he'll never learn about Sith power from a Jedi.

    3. The Tusken massacre of AOTC - the perfect prelude and foreshadowing of the massacre at the Jedi Temple and of the Separatists on Mustafar.

    4. In AOTC, Dooku's "I've become more powerful than any Jedi", line fits right in with the line Palps uses for Anakin's seduction, "learn the Dark Side and you can achieve more power than any Jedi." Apparently that's the sales pitch Palps uses on all of his potential apprentices.

    5. Palpy hurling the Anti-Gravity pods at Yoda, what a total mocking of Yoda's authority and the democratic process right there at the heart of "the Republic." Those pods are toys/weapons in Palpy's hands...in more ways than one. Oh yeah, "he loves democracy, he loves the Republic."

There's a million other little connections between all 3 films I'm sure....dialogue, story points and visuals.
After May 19th, we can have a lot of fun connecting the dots.

    Sweet trailer!

Why does sidious, once he looks like ROTJ emperor, look all fat and bloated? any theories going around?

also what's that hearbeat/breathing at the end of the trailer?

Good points John, all the pieces of the puzzle are finally starting to make sense; the way it makes sense is beautiful by the way.
