Let's have a central thread, at the very least due to all the FAQ on this topic.

    The Phantom Menace

    Teaser Trailer
    • Opens with the Force Theme from "Landspeeder Search/Attack Of The Sandpeople" from ANH. It's the moment when Obi-Wan appears and tells R2 "Come here my little friend".

    • "Main Title" from ANH

    • "Binary Sunset" from ANH

    • "Mynock Cave" from ESB

    • "The Clash Of Lightsabers" from ESB

    • "End Title" from ESB

    Theatrical Trailer
    • "The Clash Of Lightsabers" from ESB

    • "The Imperial March" from ESB

    • "Burning Homestead" from ANH

    • "Chasm Crossfire" from ANH

    • "Imperial Cruiser Pursuit" from ANH (very short bit)

    • "Chasm Crossfire" again

    • "End Title" from ESB

    Attack Of The Clones

    Breathing
    • some suspenseful strings possibly from "The Clash Of Lightsabers" or "The Tractor Beam"

    • "The Death of Qui-Gon" from TPM (drums)

    • "End Title" from ANH or ESB (it's a very short burst)

    Mystery
    • "Rescue from Cloud City/ Hyperspace"

    • "Duel of the Fates"

    Forbidden Love
    • "Princess Leia?s Theme"

    • "Duel of the Fates"

    Clone War
    • "The Pit of Carkoon/Sail Barge Assault"

    • "The Clash of Lightsabers"

    • "The Forest Battle"

    Revenge Of The Sith

    Teaser Trailer
    • Same opening as the TPM Teaser; the Force Theme from "Landspeeder Search/Attack Of The Sandpeople" from ANH.

    • A very short cue from "Darth Maul And The Sith Spacecraft" from TPM, I believe.

    • "The Clash Of Lightsabers" from ESB begins after we hear "Rise."

    • "The Tide Turns/The Death Of Darth Maul" from TPM.

    • "Dawn Of The Empire" (technically titled "Confrontation With Count Dooku") from AOTC appears over the end title frames.

    Theatrical Trailer
    • Opens with "The Wampa's Lair" from ESB.

    • "Darth Vader's Trap"; about 4:16 into the track "Carbon Freeze/Darth Vader's Trap/Departure Of Boba Fett" from ESB

    • Next is some percussion -- drum beats.

    • "The Emperor's Death" from the track "Battle Of Endor II", about 8:36

    • Then cuts back to ESB -- the end of the track "The Clash Of Lightsabers" where the Falcon is taking off from Bespin

Music started off great in the ROTS teaser. The same music as the TPM teaser beginning. The edit at the end is TERRIBLE. Guess we have more music butchery to look forward to...

Man, I just spent a lot of time trying to isolate that cue from "Mynock Cave". It starts about the 5:00 on the track "Jedi Master Revealed/Mynock Cave".

For some reason, I kept searching in the Bespin escape cues for it. :p

While the music editing in the teaser was bad, I don't necessarily think it's any indication of how the music editing in the final film will be. I have hope that it will be better than the last two films, at least.

Aside from the terrible music editing, though, I thought the teaser was pretty damn promising.

Yeah, I sure hope the music editing here isn't a portent of things to come. But while we're commenting on the teaser music, anyone else think the music from "The Tide Turns" goes fantastically with the rapid scenes toward the end of the trailer? Until it just kind of ends just as it's really building up momentum, that is...

Yeah, they could have made a much better (awesome) transition edit into "Dawn Of The Empire" from there.

Only when Anakin was gripping Obi Wan's arm and forcing the saber towards his face did I think the muisc really work. Other than that it was pretty ham handed.

If you ask me, the music working entirely. As a matter of fact, it has given me idea's for trailer music for my own fan films

Wow I really like the music starting after Vader has 'risen', it fitted very well with the visuals.

"The Tide Turns/The Death Of Darth Maul" from TPM."

Is that from the extended or standard TPM soundtrack? thanks for info.

I thought the music was all great. Well chosen and fit nicely. The only issue I have is the bad edit at the very end of the Imperial March.

I think the abrupt ending was done on purpose. The trailers seem to end with an explosion and the music halts with the credits.

What is that piece of music that halts th trailer to an end after the title is showed?

Not sure..but for a teaser trailer, I liked it tons.

And they used my idea for having Alec say something :D

It wasn't the line I was *hoping* he was going to say, but it still worked. :D

And I liked the abrupt crash of the Imperial March at the end myself. Works well, IMO.

It means you got the one-disc soundtrack instead of the two-disc set.

Yes, for that track you will need to get the TPM "Ultimate Edition".
