Star Wars Treasures of the Past [Closed SW RP]

Reno turns on his communications and calmly says "We are a cargo ship, passengers only. En route from Toydarian requesting permission to dock." He then waits for a response.

 

Command came on the comms again, "Acknowledged, you have permission to enter NarShaddaa space. When you get closer to your port of choice, you will be contacted by port authorities."

 

Dew smiled and relaxed. "hopefully this goes smoothly"

 

Mowlu relaxes some, his hands still tense. He stares out at the planet, wondering what awaits them there.

 

Reno turns around the Wookies and says "you guys should probably hide somewhere, this is a hut world and we probably dont want port authorities getting any ideas. You could be a merchandise to them."

 

"you want us to stay in the ship?" dew says with a slight bit of disgust. he glances at mowlu and says "i cant speak for u brother, but i for one do not like to stay here and babysit the ship..."

then he looks at chala and pets the droid like a dog. "thats what he is here for".

 

"I can always say you are my bodyguards, not merchandise," Etog supplies.

 

"im not apposed to that." dew said. "actually to be honest, if we end up staying together and going on a goose chase, i wouldnt mind just being paid to be the bodyguard."

 

"I'm with Dew, besides we would fit the roll. Considering how we look." Mowlu looks over at Dews battle scars, and then himself. Mowlu starts to get up and begins to head aft. "I'm off to prepare for our landing. Make sure we leave a couple nasty surprises for anyone wanting to get on without us."

 

Reno enters orbit, insisting that the wookies come up with some story. He really does not care what space port he lands at, so he chooses one that is furthest from immediate hut presence as possible.

 

The Hutts control the planet and therefor usually live in the more well-developed areas of the planet. Even on NarShaddaa, there are shady parts of town. As the ship entered the atmosphere, a voice came over the comm, "This is Port Bornar, we have you on sensors, please state your intentions. Docking bay 1138 is available if you wish to use it"

 

Dew was nervous because it was a a hostile and unknown place for him. he did his best to conceal it from the others but he was sure at least mowlu would see it.

"im gonna set chala by the entrance. he should be able to guard the ship fine from there."

Dew then left with chala towards the loading ramp to the ship.

 

Mowlu nods his head as Dew heads to set Chala up. "And a tip friend, don't let it show when we're planetside, they'll smell it, and they'll target you. They only respect strength and intelligence here on this god forsaken planet." Mowlu looks over at Reno, tell them we're just a trader, his 2 guards, and their pilot. We're here to sell, buy, and look around. Nothing to cause any trouble." Mowlu sits back down and looks down at the planet. "Add anything you might want to say." Mowlu looks over at Etog, "Got any plans Zabrak?"

 

"I have a couple ideas," Etog replies with a mischievous grin. "There's always something interesting to do in each new port," he says turning to look at Reno. "Mind telling them we are members of GCLI? Should help get us through."

 

Reno states on the com. "we are traders. We are buying and selling. Thank you, we will dock at the designated port.:

 

The area Port Barner was in is fairly level part of the city. It almost looked like it sat among a bunch of large, low buildings, but below the top layer of buildings were even more buildings, at the tallest parts of the city, it could be miles deep, but here, it was probably only several hundred feet. Port Barner stuck above the rest like a sore thumb. It was a large, square building with the docking bays built into the outside about 3 high and 10 wide on each side, some were larger than others. Bay 1138 was in the center row. Up close, it looked like it was pretty new, but not kept up very well. Inside the bay, there were no guards or docking officials waiting, just some junk laying around from the previous few occupants. The wall of the bay on the inside of the building had a large entrance making it easy for cargo to be loaded onto any ship in the docking bay. Beyond the large entrance was the center room which contained a few guard patrols and a bunch of elevators. There were 4 small ones at each corner with railings for people and several in between on each side for cargo. All the elevators were open, giving a view of the entire center room.

Dew takes mowlus advice and puts on his game face. Then he steps out into the docking Bay. He took a look at some of the junk wandering if some could be used for something, but then realized he is too lazy to care. "let's shake a leg fellas, we ain't got all day." he yelled back into the ship so the others would hurry up.

 

"Eager to get moving," Etog said with a grin, "I admire that." He mentally checked everything was in its place before disembarking.

 

Reno brings the ship in to land, putting it down in the docking bay. He then turns to the wookies and says "perhaps you guys should stay on board the ship for now while the rest of us step off and see whats going on. Just for now. This "IS" a hut world after all. Lets make sure we arent going to get jumped. I know we dont see anyone here, but just to be safe...

 

As if he didn't really care, Mowlu walked out of the ship, following Dew and Etog, leaving Reno on the ship alone.

There was no security to check them, just a few guards walking around in case things got ugly somewhere. The bottom row of docking bays was not the bottom level of the spaceport, the elevators went down another 50 feet to be level with the upper layer of streets on the surrounding buildings. The streets were wide and mostly empty of people. There were large skiffs on the streets, ferrying cargo from the buildings nearby which mostly appeared to be large warehouses. Except at the entrances to the buildings, the streets didn't actually go all the way to the buildings, there was about a 10 foot gap where anyone who looked could see the the hundreds of feet of buildings and streets below the upper layer. Periodically, there were stairs and elevators that led to the lower levels. It was obvious this was a traders section of the city. Warehouses on the top level for easy transport to the spaceport and businesses for the traders to visit underneath.

 

Reno didnt wait around on the ship. If he had a home world, this was it. He knew how rough it could get... and just how fast. He also knew how to disapear on this world if need be. He shook his head.... slightly rolling his eyes at the reckless wookies.... then he followed them out of the ship.

 

Mowlu bares his teeth as he smiled, looking forward to whatever they may run into. "Most likely the shop we''re looking for will be below, so lets just take an elevator, shall we?" Mowlu starts off at a brisk walk(for a wookiee) for one of the nearest elevators.

 

dew follows mowlu thinking he was a little crazy for such a pace here. on second thought though dew realized he has no experience in a place like this. so he decided to catch up with mowlu and just do as he did.

*(in his head) the elevators... i wander if we can guarantee they work? and what about this whole mulit-layer thing? is it gonna come crashing down at any time?* dews face showed some worry. *HEY snap out of it! we are tough! we are wookie!*
and with that dew put his game face on a stern as he could.

 

Etog almost jogs to catch up the Mowlu, whose long strides present a misleadingly fast pace, not that Etog really cares at the moment about anything.

The first elevator looks sturdy and well built. It's simply 4 rails that top 10 feet above the walkway and descend down into eternity, with a platform, easily large enough for 10 men and with metal fences on 3 edges, that moves up and down those rails via some gears and mechanics underneath. Next to it is a sign that says "1168". Above the current level shines the sky, well lit and bright. As the 4 descend below the durasteel street, they enter a completely different world. Lights hanging from the top level and the multitude of colored signs fill the space with a mostly orange glow. The glow is accompanied by the noise of hundreds of people talking, made worse by the nearly enclosed, all-metal environment. The The streets are the same size, but through the middle are temporary, but well built vendors selling all sorts of merchandise. Datapads, ship parts, computers, food, clothing, and more are everywhere to be seen beyond the crowed people. After about a 30 feet descent, the elevator stops level with what the street where a sign says "1138".

The streets seem to be laid out on a grid, it's quite easy to tell by looking at the 'ceiling' because the streets of this level are the same as those above. On each block, near the top there are large numbers and letters painted on the buildings. Behind the elevator, the block letters says, "327-X". Across the street from the elevator, it says "327-Y". The streets aren't super crowded, but decent number of people people passing in the street make room for the elevator passengers to get off, but beyond that don't seem to be paying attention to much else beyond where they are going and looking up or over the crowd. Most of them are headed away from below where the spaceport is on the level above, which, on this level is a large building, cutting the street, with a large, brightly shining sign spelling, "The Duel". The building itself looks like it was previously a spaceport itself, but mostly in fairly bad repair.

Those who know anything about NarShaddaa say it's the best place in the Galaxy to disappear, but also the last place you want to be a nobody.

Dew follows molwus lead and steps out into the crowd. he then pulls out his data pad.

"lets see where this shop is down here." he starts tapping on his pad. after a moment he finds the building number and has directions, then he wonders do they even need directions? so he shows etog and tells mowlu where the shop is located.

then he gets his game face on as the group decides the best route to the shop.
