Phx Trek vs SW

So I'm sitting in my living room watching ABC with my hubby when a commercial for Star Trek: First Contact comes on. The first words in the commercial were enough to get me on my feet and ranting. Now most of you know that I'm a Trek fan. Not a big one, but I appreciate Trek from time to time. Well they had the gaul to say "The ultimate Star War....Star Trek: First Contact" GAH!! I feel so violated!

First off.. lets compare.. saber vs phaser:

just point that little tv remote lookin thing at me and fire it.. you will soon see me block your little shots and then chop your pathetic carcass in half with my lightsaber.. grrr... hate trek!

What about the MEN of Star Wars? There's absolutely no comparison there either!! I mean, what Trek guy can compare with Luke, Han, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Lando, Jango, or Anakin? I mean WOW!! It is a visual feast for the eyes!! sooo many hunks!

For the love of the Force, what does Trek have? *crickets chirping* NOTHING!!

 

Trek sucks..and thats it.. we all know..even those that wont admit it.

Hey now! I happen to like Trek. Albeit, not as much. But I do like it. I mean they DID have a bald guy in the leading role in TNG!

I agree with MJA. You would think that these anouncers could at LEAST read thier que cards right. That's what re-takes are for! These media people are completely clueless at just about everything!

I agree Lady_Jedi_Carenix, he is rather distinguished. Most bald men are. Skinner from X-files ...Vin Diesel ...but I digress. The point is the NEVER should have said "the ultimate Star War" They aren't even in the same ball park much less same planetary system.

That I COMPLETELY agree with. Star Trek is entertaining TV, but it's TV; most of the movies feel like a TV special anyway. Not to say they aren't amusing, but...Star Wars, they ain't.

 

If you really think about it, it could be a compliment. Why would anybody in there right mind say the ultimate Star Trek anything. When you think ultimate, you would obviously think Star Wars.

 

If anything we should kick the butt of the person making the mistake. I like trek as well especially First Contact.

 

How can anyone like trek.. (i wont use caps for that anymore) I mean, tossing some goo on someones face and a little bit of lipstick is far from making a believable alien.. EYERYTHING about it sucks..
