"Pull yourselves together! Are you Blooded Soldiers or are you cowards?!"
As this was yelled out above the fray, almost any other group of combat soldiers would have wondered if the Jedi Master and General had gone mad, considering that in their current predicament they were either shot down or dying from the third degree burns.
However, it took special soldiers to understand just what Zan was getting at.
It was evident that Zan had grown up under his own circumstances, that had imprinted into him at a young age what it meant to be a survivor, nay, a predator at the top of the food chain.
He expected nothing but the best out of his soldiers, and they expected to give him no less.
As he cut down incoming swoops with deft strokes of his lightsaber, and had manipulated the plants away from the soldiers and sent them crashing into oncoming riders, the remaining soldiers picked themselves up and let out a cheer.
    "For Hurubaas, for General Zan!"
This rose up like a roar, momentarily drowning out the sounds of the souped-up hovercraft that moved all around them.
The blooded soldiers moved forward in a tight defensive circle, firing out at all directions, concentrating and shooting for all they were worth.
As Zan force-jumped and sent down a ball of destructive force-manipulated kinetic energy at the enemies below him, there was a thunderclap as it struck them as he landed, unleashing waves of destructive force through their ranks, decimating them.
The two fiery tendrils of thorns likewise, shot out like tentacles, spearing two riders that had gotten too close to the powerful Jedi Master.
The cheers of his men continued and as the fighting continued, all the sound and color began to drain from their world as the riders coming in before the front wave began to lob proton grenades which detonated in mid-air before hitting the ground.
In the resulting carnage, both insurgent and soldier alike instantly started to die.
All around Zan, swoops exploded into fiery balls that gushed to the sky and his men screamed as they were ripped apart by the Newtonian forces at work in their bodies.
Only a subconscious leap of the Force saved Zan a similar fate as a bundle of the small bombs came a few yards in front of him only to blow apart quickly.
When he landed, parts of his body were soaked in blood, and as his men around him died, more swoop-riders appeared in the distance.
The first wave had been driven into an insane frenzy by his mental assault and now the second wave had arrived, determined to eliminate Zan and the presence of his men in the area through whatever means necessary.

    IC: Tenku Zan

Tenku carved through what remained of the first wave of insurgents that were near him like the fabled angel of death. His rallied men stood firm behind him, but very much thinned in ranks from the bomb clusters that they were recently bombarded by. Tenku turned to face the oncoming second, larger wave of his foes, nearly every single one of them had their gaze focused on him and, in most cases, with a look that was some combination of fear, rage, and determination. They wanted him dead. No, more than that, they wanted him in pain, tortured and broken, before they killed him. 'Quite ironically,' Tenku mused, 'That the phrase that comes to mind would be, over my dead body...'

As the Second wave neared, Tenku intensified his concentration into three things. One, he poured on Torture, and not the diluted version the first wave had been introduced to, but the full, mind ripping version. Second, he added fear into the mix, and, like with Torture, he did not hold back. Third and finally, he poured everything left of his mental concentration and power into building up a titanic telekinetic/electric blast. The gathering power showed as the air around the miraluka rippled with power, dust and small pebbles, with some smoke from the nearby fires, rose and slowly circled the miraluka, staedily building speed. The aura of power around him, terrifying to the swoopers but inspirational to his own men, continued to grow as rapidly as the power he gathered around himself.

As his gathering off power drew close to its climax, a thunderous crack split the air within his aura, sounding much like one would here while watching a thunderstorm. As if it wasn't enough already, many small bolts of lightining gathered around him, most clustering around his hands and arms. Finally, at the last possible second, that incredible built up telekinetic and electric power was unleashed...

Following Master Rado outside Nolston felt his attention being drawn elsewhere planet side, distracting his reason for requesting time with the jedi master infront of him. As they came to a stop Nolston sought to apply a small exercise he learned as a youngling within the temple to regain focus when cries of sorrow penetrated his mind.

"Master have you felt any effects since we reached Apsolon in regards to your connection with the Force?" Nolston posed his question as they came to a stop Rado surveying their surroundings forever the Guardian something that reminded Nolston of his own former apprentice.

The cries of sorrow still echoed within the confines of his mind, yet Nolston was able to deal with them sufficient enough to continue his conversation with Master Rado even if every fiber of his being screamed that a tradegy was currently being committed if not already excuted.

"I only ask this for I've been having some trouble with my own efforts in regards to seeking some direction with our mission", Nolston continued allowing for his own eyes to scan the area in search of more then was physically there. "Our time here so far seems to state that our fallen brethren indeed have the upper hand, and that we've yet to make any real progress in any direction in regards to our reason for being here", Nolston added somewhat eased by the fact that he was finally voicing some of his own concerns for another of their group who might add some insight to his worries.

Nolston allowed himself to breath the air in deep taking a moment to marvel over such a simple luxary such as fresh air, and with it his mind still rang with cries of devastation no doubtedly being carried out once again on Apsolon.

As the second wave of swoop-riders had successfully descended over the hill and were now baring down on the remaining Blooded soldiers and the Jedi Master leading them, they ceased their cluster-bomb attacks and instead switched into using their bowcasters at long range.
Amidst the Blooded soldiers moving into crouching positions and returning fire, the attackers couldn't help but notice the Master among them summoning up some sort of power...
As they neared, their blood turned to ice and their hearts were frozen in fear. They could feel the power reverberating off the object above and around Zan as if it were some sort of giant heart.
In a frozen flash of brilliant luminescence, the heart was released.
Thunderous shockwaves of heat, kinetic force, razor-sharp debris and choking dust sailed clear over the Blooded soldiers, leaving them unscathed, but hurtled on toward the riders.
The first row of bikes were picked up by the small but powerful concentrated storm and hurled onto the second row which created a chain-effect of explosions.
The gust of raw energy that followed imbued the air around the vicinity with loud sonic booms that connected together at intervals and raced outward from the target.
Insurgents screamed as bolts of Force lightning ripped about their bodies, siphoning off crucial life energy.
When half a minute had gone by, the firestorm around the spot the riders had previously occupied left nothing more than a deep, dirty crater on the surface of the hill.
Immolated and force-ravaged corpses lay strewn about with parts of swoop bikes, making the area resemble a graveyard that had been merged with a junk pile.

With the energy expended, Zan?s body shuddered, letting him know his energy-well was temporarily depleted.
Zan?s potential grasp and strength in the Force was high; most other Force users would be dead by using that much power so quickly.

The Blooded soldiers gave another cheer and looked to their powerful General with pride and respect.
He had single-handedly saved the day and had led them on to glorious victory against a greater foe.
However, as soon as the cheer rose up, they found that they themselves could not rise.
Most of them lay dead as well, and those that were conscious and moving had suffered grievous blaster-burn and fire-related injuries.
The one medic left alive among them, he himself badly wounded, crawled among the rest of the soldiers immediately, his medpack and datapad out, scanning the men for remedies.
Through his considerably vast Force-vision, Zan could notice that the tank itself was now significantly damaged.
Its turret and repulsors had taken considerable damage due to close proximity with the dozens of cluster-bombs that had been hurled earlier in the battle and was incapable of traveling far.
A groan issued from within the tank, and leaning out halfway from the hatch was the pilot who in one arm arm steadied another man that was clothed in bacta-wrap.
    Commander Appo.
Barely conscious, the Commander looked to Zan and nodded, coughing slightly.
"A good job, General Zan. You have done well, Sir. Do not worry about me, the shot I received sent me into shock and I most likely would have died were it not due to the actions of our pilot here."
He coughed raggedly and looked up again. "This day has seen many heroes and you are the greatest among them. We must show them why true warriors never give up, like you have shown us."
Appo nodded to the city in the distance. "You must go there and bring justice to the killer of our men. We cannot go with you I am afraid. This task falls squarely on your shoulders. Hurry, and may the Force be with you."

"You must go there and bring justice to the killer of our men. We cannot go with you I am afraid. This task falls squarely on your shoulders. Hurry, and may the Force be with you."

Tenku nodded to the commander, glad he had survived. They would need commanders like him soon, once the war began, and they would not be easy to replace. He turned to face the direction the attack had come from, the direction he and his men had been heading, before claiming a relatively undamaged swoop from the first wave. Its previous owner, killed by a slugthrower round, certainly would not be needing it any longer. After a few minor checks of its engine and other systems, the swoop kicked to life as he started down his path with the roar of the engine in the backround.

While moving towards his destination Tenku did what half meditative exercises he could, allowing his basic senses to steer the bike and focusing, for the moment, on partly filling his emptied force reserves. His need to display vengeance battled with his need to feel recharged and ready for the encounter while at the same time attempting to think what strategy would be best effective without knowing the terrain conditions as of yet. It would be a challenge, one he had not had in a rather long time. As his mind embraced his meditations, he felt himself absorbed somewhat into the force. He remebered the first time he had felt its strong call, like awakening and feeling the very heart of the universe's steady rythm, an ancient power embracing him, like his long lost family and friends. When he had first felt it, heard it, and breathed it he could hardly bare to pull away from it, and as a result half or more of his time was spent embracing it. And, perhaps as a result, it had never let him down, never abandoned him.

As Zan roared on ahead through fiercely whipping gusts of snow and ice, the abandoned and dilapidated city lay ahead.
While most of its spacescrapers had long since been destroyed or collapsed to the icy cracked ground, some still stood, menacing and ominous.
As he entered it, moving down the main stretch of street, he could see buildings packed densely to either side of him, durasteel and rust, trash and strewn debris in many places almost indistinguishable.
Once, the place had been a bustling operations center for many mining businesses.
With the coming of Hurubaas however, and the onslaught that followed. Times soon changed.

Speeding through the streets, there were still derelict vehicles that had been parked or abandoned to rot in many places.
And as he passed, his Force senses told him that he was indeed not alone.

Every now and then, he could sense the movement of some small rodent, or occasionally that of a sentient being, moving about in the shadows of the dilapidated residences, trying to keep out of sight.
As he neared one open stretch of street however, he felt something new, a resonance within the Force. A pulse.
It came from a building off to his near left, from the ground floor of a half-destroyed spacescraper.

The Force seemed to beckon him to that place.

Upon entering the remnant of the spacescraper, the first thing the Force brought to Zan's attention was the stagnant decay of the structure.
Every where he turned there were creaking and rotten durasteel beams, bent and diminished from years of disrepair.
Snow gusted in from the outside and permeated the place in a sheath of cold.
As Zan passed by many empty rooms, his senses still directed him towards a strong Force presence nearby.

Up ahead, as he passed beneath the arch of a halfway fallen beam, the form of a figure suddenly came into view.
His form was silhouetted by a flaming bonfire in front of him.

As Zan approached, he saw a few other people - or what barely passed for people, dressed in rags look up to him with terrified expressions and flee into an adjoining room, leaving just he and the stranger that sat with his back to him.

The building he had entered had been once tall and proud, and now what was left smelled of decay. The beacon in the force, his target, was easy to follow, though he had to occasionally navigate a handful of obstructions, mainly pits, before he reached his destination. A few people, if they could even be called people, dressed in rags quickly fled before his approach, soon leaving just him and the one he had been tracking.

Tenku sank into a relaxed meditative posture fifteen feet from the person, who still had his or her back turned towards him. "So, care to tell me to whom I am speaking? My name is Tenku Zan, but I have a feeling you already knew that..."

With Zan's words came a silence as the only thing that could be heard in the ravaged room was the crackling of the fire, that burned steadily before the shape that sat with its back faced to him.

Gusts of wind could be heard blowing in through the gap back in the entrance to the spacescraper, causing a slight howl every now and then. Still though the figure did not move.
Finally, a voice came. Quiet, reserved and staccato.
"Names are useless to those who won't live long enough for them to matter any to him."

The shape, which bore the voice of a man, continued to face the fire before him.
As the flames in front of him danced, he spoke again.
"I know why you are here. Many years have passed but your presence through the Force is still as it was back at the Temple - powerful but misdirected."
A few moments and then, even more quietly. "I can sense that you are cold. Why not come over here and warm yourself by the fire..."

The wind continued to howl threateningly as the rag-covered shape sat very still. Unmoving.

Ryu winced, the feeling of being healed was always a strange one that's why whenever he got any injuries he never let anyone use the force to heal him, he rather have the wound heal on its own, let nature take its course. However sometimes he had no choice but to rely on the force, too much of a coward to accept death when it came calling for him, he would always find someway to survive no matter the consequences. It was that obsession of clinging to life above all else that made him so weak, probably what allow his dark side to take control when battling the rogue assassin.

Master Jedi River was very quiet while healing him and she seemed to be going slow at healing his wounds. Ryu was starting to get irritated by how long the healing was taking, he had asked the Master Jedi to heal him only enough for him to be able to move on his own, healing him completely would take way too long some of the injuries he had taken during his battle might even take days to heal with the force.

"Why are you taking so long?" Ryu gritted his teeth, his headache was starting to come back to him, "We still need to move and we're wasting time here!"

Ryu felt something stirring inside his chest, he placed a hand over his heart almost as if he was trying to hold back something from coming out. He abruptly stood up almost knocking River over, he need to get away he couldn't stay where whatever-it-was was trying to get him, he could be a danger for anyone around him, he could be a danger to River or Scraw.

He stumble a few times the world was spinning around him making him dizzy, but he needed to get away. River seem to going after him, which wasn't too difficult since he could barely take a few steps forward.

"No! get away!" Ryu cried trying to walk faster, "It's not safe get away!"

The headaches were getting worse and he was starting to think someone was really stabbing him in the head. The pain was starting to become too much and the world around him was spinning faster each time. The Jedi Knight felt a tender hand on his shoulder and for a second the pain seem to go away, but then it intensified.

"GET AWAY!" Ryu shouted as he jerked free from her hold extending his arm out as electricity ran throw his arm shooting out from his finger tips and right at River. Ryu watched in horror as her body was thrown back hitting her against a tree, he fell on both knees grabbing his head and felt as if his skull was on fire.

    "AAHHHHH!!"

His screams echoed throughout the forest.

    Scrawaoaanraoh

The first thing he felt through the Force was a spike of pain and fear followed by anger.
When Master Scrawaoaanraoh turned to see River slam into a tree just yards behind him, he focused his feral eye on the young Knight that had fallen to his knees, clutching his head in agony.

As Ryu screamed, Scraw approached quickly, his large bounding steps causing tremors to emanate around the forest floor.
"Knight Ryu, what is the meaning of this, are you alright?"
Though his deep booming voice carried an undercurrent of calm, inwardly he braced himself, sensing the Dark Side.

Coming before Ryu, his hand went to the large lightsaber at his belt without his even noticing. His good eye and milky eye both studied the form of the young man and before taking another step he hesitated as he felt yet another immense wave of dark energy spiral outward from the Knight.

Ryu used the force to push Scraw back, the pain in his head had left him numb and everything around him wouldn't stay still. 'He is trying to kill you...' He took out his lightsaber activating it instantly. 'You must end him before he ends you...' Ryu started swinging his lightsaber around as if hoping he would hit the invisible person that was talking to him. "Show yourself!"

'I am not your enemy...hehehe' the voice laughed, its voice unknown yet familiar.

"Then show yourself!" Ryu cried out as he felt electricity run through his whole body shooting out, hitting some trees.

'You must stop him, before its too late...the Chewbacca is trying to kill you, he fears you...they all do, everyone is an enemy...hehehe!' the voice's laughter was louder, Ryu placed a hand over his ear. 'You must kill Scraw!'.

Ryu looked around spotting the Master Jedi, he drew his lightsaber again.

    Scraw

Looking on at Ryu, suddenly everything came together in his mind.
Rather, that the mind of the young man before him was gone, replaced by the fervor of the Dark side.

He knew now what had happened between he and River and reached out with the Force to scan her, checking her for any injuries.
Indeed, she had been rendered comatose by the strange attack from Ryu, and now Scraw knew he could allow this to continue no longer. He would do what needed to be done.

"Knight Strife!" Scrawoanroah roared at the top of his Wookiee lungs.
With determined purposeful steps, he stalked towards the young Jedi Knight before him, his chest heaving with fury.
A massive furry paw had reached down to his belt and had unclipped the lightsaber there.
Slowly, it lit and a greenish-yellow blade sprang to life from the long and thick hilt.

"You had no right to attack Master River in such a way."
He stood only meters away from Ryu and glowered down at him with an arboreal look in his wide eyes.

"Stand down, boy. I will not let you fall to the Dark side and walk away. If you attempt to do so, you will taste my blade."

Ryu felt another wave of pain enter his mind. The voice was stronger now, its words seem to echo all around him; Ryu noticed the large wookie's lips move, but he heard nothing all he could hear was the voice and it was driving him crazy.

See? what did I tell you? heheheh...he fears us so he wants to kill us...you must stop him, NOW!

With a mighty battle cry, Ryu charged at Master Scraw using the force to increase his speed. Their lightsabers clashed, even with the enhance on his skills, the wookie was able to stand his attack. Ryu charged at the Jedi Master again, swinging his lightsaber with much ferocity adding a few kicks whenever he got the chance. Scraw pushed him back, but Ryu jumped back shooting electricity from his finger tips.

As the words left Zan's mouth, there was a brief silence as the figure slowly shifted in the tattered rags that covered its form.
Its reply was one of conclusion, and it spoke calmly as it turned to gracefully rise to its feet.
    "Very well, Master Zan."
The entire guise of the man before him was sheathed amidst a shroud, and within that shroud only a small portion in the place where strips of dark brown and grey cloth intertwined was there an opening.
A single eye, sharp and smoldering; colored a pale yellow stared out at the intruder standing at the entrance.
Within the intense eye was an iris, deep black and as the light from the fire danced off of it, splashes of a light silver hue reflected in accordance with it.

Taking notice of the smirk. The figure spoke in a gravelly, foreboding tone.

"Pride cometh before the fall, Master Zan."

Noticing the General's lightsaber out and in hand, the figure slowly flicked a hand into his tattered shroud and withdrew a likewise weapon.
    "I have mine, right here."
Bringing the hilt before him, the figure crossed the room in a handful of gliding strides and soon was only a leg's distance out in front of the General.
Abruptly, a silver blade extended from the end of the hilt and it was held aloft to aim squarely at Zan's throat.

"If what you indeed seek is warmth, I think I can accommodate you."

Tenku spun backwards quickly, just before launching into a short reverse flip leaving him a few meters space between himself and his challenge before activating his own obsidian blade of energy in a salute to his opponent. "I certainly hope so, it is so hard to find decent hospitality these days." Tenku said, replying with a rightfully earned confidence. A quick dash forward brought his blade into contact with his foe's in a testing clash before attempting to parry it aside.

Watching Zan suddenly withdraw to meters away and giving a salute, the figure said nothing as his opponent gave his reply and suddenly charged forward again.
As the dark-grey blade of Zan's met the bright-grey one of his own and his blade began to be pushed to the side in a parry executed by the former, the mysterious figure bent his front leg slightly and kept his rear leg straight with the heel of the foot raised just slightly off the ground.
His wrists, which had already been rotated inward in a firm grip on his weapon, cocked forward as his arms extended outward and power came through the floor to be directed through his blade.
As this happened, he brought his blade up, clearly resisting against the force of Zan's blade and in doing so also making clear his intention to challenge the fallen Jedi Master to a Saber-locking contest.

In the ensuing struggle, the figure brought more power to bear through his blade, pushing up against Zan?s until both their blades locked in an almost vertical symmetry with one another.
As more and more power was added, the figure began to succeed in driving Zan's blade back toward its source.

    Scraw

With a furious onslaught of Jedi knight Ryu Strife, Master Scrawaoaanraoh was pressed backward by the serious of slashes and kicks launched at him by his attacker, who now battled as if possessed.
When a burst of lightning tendrils erupted from the young mans fingers and lanced towards the feral Wookie, Scraw managed to catch the bolts on his massive blade, but even so could feel the residual energy crackling through his body, siphoning off precious lifeforce.

He bared his maw and pressed forward, holding his greatsaber in a two-handed grip and swinging it forward in great arcs augmented in power by the simultaneous gyration of his waist.
As the strikes arced in towards the young Knight, the feral Wookie gave a great roar.

As his foe attempted to engage him in a saber-locking contest, a contest which did not allow him to put his skills to their best use, Tenku chose to allow the force of his blade being pushed back to propel him into a brief backward spin before, with the slightest touch of force enhanced speed, dash into a forward spin and launching into a series of high and low slashing attacks. He followed up by dropping briefly to the floor with a leg sweep, a clear attempt to trip his opponent, before at last feinting a low horizontal slice immediately prior to sharp upper lunge guided more by feel than anything else.

Ryu stood still as the lightning pass by him, scraping his arm, the stench of rotting flesh filled the air. The young Jedi Knight looked at his bleeding arm, it looked bad, but he didn't feeling anything. The wookie's roar caught his attention, Ryu did a roar of his own as he leaped towards the large beast bringing his lightsaber down on him. Naturally the wookie blocked his attack pushing him back, but he quickly recovered coming at the Master Jedi again. He had completely forgotten the style taught to him by Master Eto, years of training and learning lessons amount to nothing as he continue to swing his lightsaber almost wildly. Winning, surviving, that seem to only matter now and Scraw, at the moment, was the force stopping him.

That's right hehehe...show him your power!

Ryu shouted as he landed a kick on the wookie's side, the voice had taken him by surprise it hadn't spoken for a while. Ryu charged at Scraw again, as the fight continued he felt himself becoming more aware of his surroundings or rather more aware of the battle. In the past, like when he questioned the Master Jedi's words in the inn, fighting Scraw would have been almost impossible because of the wookie's greater skills, but now he was a match for him even able to stand his own. Of course unless the wookie was holding back...

    You can beat him...hehehe

'I can beat him' Ryu grinned as he swing his lightsaber with more ferocity.
