JCC Trick or Treat Costume Parade

I just made one of the neighbor kids' night. His mom couldn't afford a costume for him, and he was getting teased by some other kids. I asked his mom if it was okay if I let him choose one from my son's old costumes, and she said yes. So this kid is now in costume and getting ready to hit the streets. I gave the kids who were teasing him some little boxes of raisins I had in my cupboard, and he got a handful of Snickers.

 

Liked primarily for the dicking over of kids with raisin boxes for being little jerks!

HOw many parents do you know of that are cool with relative strangers taking pictures of their kids for... reasons?

I assumed people might post pics of their own kids. But of course people here are already too old to still have kids that age.

 

i ended up getting one group of trick or treaters. there were like 10 kids, i think all dressed as the avengers.

 

i think i'm gonna stay home next halloween. i've always wanted to have trick or treaters, and this is the first time i live somewhere where they might actually bother going. never went as a kid myself. i was actually around 12 or something the first time i heard of it. i remember some friends of mine asked me if i was gonna go trick or treating with them and i didn't even know what it meant. when they explained it i told them that i hadn't signed up for it so i couldn't go with them. i thought it was something you had to apply to do.

 

I went as Arthur Dent from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!

 

One of my favorites was a kid who showed up wearing normal clothes and a helmet and was sort of embarrassed when he held up his bag. He said "I'm supposed to be a drag racer", and I said "oh ok, that's good". At least he tried.

Oh and a couple of Ash Ketchums in homemade costumes. You could tell they at least did some of the work themselves and I found that pretty cool. They even had handmade pokeballs.

 

My youngest used my Beaker costume from last year. My middle went as a stick-figure (but just ended up looking really creepy), and my daughter and her friend are, I dunno, some sort of Goths or whatever.
