trip to see the X-WING

i just got off the phone with the people at wings over the rockies air and space museum .

they are the people that have the x wing .

it seems they have discounts for group tours , and i will contact someone tomorow about it .

regular admission is
$5 for adults
$3 for 17 and under
$3 for 60 and over

the really cool thing is that i asked if we could sit in the x wing , the guy said he wasnt sure but they do have an open cockpit day and it might be possible .

the next one is nov 9th . i will find out all of the details tomorow and let you guys know .

We could also do pizza or something @ my place after the museum, since it's 5 minutes from my place.

well , i didnt have much luck today getting anyone of importance on the phone today . i only made the call 6 times . and left two messages . i hope the person i am suposed to talk to was off today . i would hate to think they just dont return calls and not anser the phone .

i will try lots again tomorow .

 

ok this is what i found out

a guided tour is avalible , we get $1 off admission per person . we need at least 10 people confirmed and call 10 days in advance .

after the guided tour we can roam the joint and look at everything . they said the tour is cool because the guids know everthing about everything . they have rooms with ww1 , ww2 and other flight suits and stuff from all over the world . they even have an adolf hitler autograph

nov 9th is the next open cockpit day , they do this once every 2 months . we can get into some of the air craft (not the x wing)

I think this sounds great! I had no idea there was a life-size x-wing here in Denver!! <complete awe> Baring something coming up, please count me in. (It *is* a Sat, right?)

I'm sorry, btw, for vanishing off the board for such long stretches. It's just that work, and by extension, life, has really sucked for a while now.

that museum is a great place. i was there this summer. it was kinda dead so they let us jump the ropes and take pics next to it. but i dont know if u could get into that thing. it seems a little flimsy to me.

 

Please contact Jeff or post your confirmed attendance in this thread. We'd like to get the group rate, but a bunch of us are going no matter.
