Allrighty, I'll try this again. One of these days I'll pick a winning horse. :p

    Win: Charitable Man
    Place: Dunkirk
    Show: Mine that Bird

Charitable Man has been priming for the Belmont from what I've heard.

I'm also glad Rachel Alexandra's owners decided not to run her in the Belmont if she wasn't ready. It's a hard race, and I'm happy they didn't push her too hard while she's still so young.

I don't think its a good idea to bet against Calvin Boreal this year so I'm going with:

    Win - Mine that Bird
Place - Mr. Hot Stuff (I have a soft spot for Tiznow babies)
    Show - Chocolate Candy

I'm torn. On the one hand, I want Calvin Borel to lose because of his decision that gave me another year of no-Triple-Crown anguish. On the other hand, I want Mine That Bird to win to prove that he would have won the Triple Crown without Borel's treachery. (I know both of these are irrational thoughts, but eh, whatever.)

    So, I will go with:

    1) Mine That Bird
    2) Dunkirk
    3) Summer Bird

That was...disappointing. I really wanted Mine That Bird to pull it off. Still, I can't help being a tiny bit amused by the fact that there were at least a couple of us here who picked the right horses in the wrong order. :p

I picked the second place horse right! (as did a few others, I think :p)

    Kinda disappointing, though.

We didn't do any better in the Derby.

I was impressed that Dunkirk held on so long. I was yelling at him the whole race, especially in the beginning, to not be in the front for such a long distance.

I also find it interesting that Mine that Bird went 1-2-3 in the Derby, Preakness and Belmont, and in sequential order too! Kinda like hitting for the (natural) cycle in a baseball game (opposite results, though).
