    Anyway, the Marines in A Few Good Men are evil *******s and the Navy are a bunch of pencil-pushers who made Jack Nicholson's underwear a matter of national security.

    They don't hang people from yardarms anymore, but they spend three weeks going blind on paperwork because a seaman second class bought and smoked a dime bag of oregano.

    Are we interpreting this thread correctly? People keep posting about soldiers they do not like in pieces of fiction they have no particular opinion on. I think we are supposed to post about soldiers we have no particular opinion on that appear in pieces of fiction we dislike. For instance, the US military appears in Michael Bay's Transformers.

    If it's the former then those national guard rednecks in First Blood. If it's the latter then maybe the MPs guarding the military secrets warehouse at the beginning of Indiana Jones and the ET Skulls

    But also don't you think it's acceptable if the reason we dislike a piece of fiction is because of its terrible troops?

    I think the thread title is pretty clear: useless, worthless troops. Such as:

    1)The stormtroopers of the Galactic Empire, because, Clone and PT aside, their predecessors got **** done and could shoot the broadside of a barn.
    2) Cobra's myriad troopers and Fill-In-The-Blank Vipers.
    3) Decepticons in most Transformer continuities because, quite frankly, their KD ratio is abysmally low.
    4) Halo's Grunts. LOL, really you Covie jokers, those are your frontline troops?
